Replace some xmalloc-family functions with XNEW-family ones
This patch is part of the make-gdb-buildable-in-C++ effort. The idea is
to change some calls to the xmalloc family of functions to calls to the
equivalents in the XNEW family. This avoids adding an explicit cast, so
it keeps the code a bit more readable. Some of them also map relatively
well to a C++ equivalent (XNEW (struct foo) -> new foo), so it will be
possible to do scripted replacements if needed.
I only changed calls that were obviously allocating memory for one or
multiple "objects". Allocation of variable sizes (such as strings or
buffer handling) will be for later (and won't use XNEW).

buildbot or people complaining that I broke their gdb.

Reimplement function calls on amd64-windows
This patch provides a standalone implementation of function calls
on amd64-windows, instead of providing some bits and pieces hooking
into the function call implementation meant for sysV (in amd64-tdep).
It makes better sense to do it this way, because the two ABIs are
actually very different; for instance, the concept of argument
classification, which is so central in the sysV ABI and drove the
the implementation in amd64-tdep, makes no sense for Windows. It
is therefore better for the Windows implementation to be completely
separate, rather than rely on adaptations of the sysV implementation.

Replace some xmalloc-family functions with XNEW-family ones
This patch is part of the make-gdb-buildable-in-C++ effort. The idea is
to change some calls to the xmalloc family of functions to calls to the
equivalents in the XNEW family. This avoids adding an explicit cast, so
it keeps the code a bit more readable. Some of them also map relatively
well to a C++ equivalent (XNEW (struct foo) -> new foo), so it will be
possible to do scripted replacements if needed.
I only changed calls that were obviously allocating memory for one or
multiple "objects". Allocation of variable sizes (such as strings or
buffer handling) will be for later (and won't use XNEW).

Reimplement function calls on amd64-windows
This patch provides a standalone implementation of function calls
on amd64-windows, instead of providing some bits and pieces hooking
into the function call implementation meant for sysV (in amd64-tdep).
It makes better sense to do it this way, because the two ABIs are
actually very different; for instance, the concept of argument
classification, which is so central in the sysV ABI and drove the
the implementation in amd64-tdep, makes no sense for Windows. It
is therefore better for the Windows implementation to be completely
separate, rather than rely on adaptations of the sysV implementation.

change minsym representation
In a later patch we're going to change the minimal symbol address
calculation to apply section offsets at the point of use. To make it
simpler to catch potential problem spots, this patch changes the
representation of minimal symbols and introduces new
minimal-symbol-specific variants of the various accessors. This is
necessary because it would be excessively ambitious to try to convert
all the symbol types at once.
The core of this change is just renaming a field in minimal_symbol;
the rest is just a fairly mechanical rewording.

We noticed the following hang trying to run a program where one
of the subroutines we built without debugging info (opaque_routine):

Add some more casts (1/2)
Note: I needed to split this patch in two, otherwise it's too big for
the mailing list.
This patch adds explicit casts to situations where a void pointer is
assigned to a pointer to the "real" type. Building in C++ mode requires
those assignments to use an explicit cast. This includes, for example:
- callback arguments (cleanups, comparison functions, ...)
- data attached to some object (objfile, program space, etc) in the form
of a void pointer
- "user data" passed to some function
This patch comes from the commit "(mostly) auto-generated patch to insert
casts needed for C++", taken from Pedro's C++ branch.
Only files built on x86 with --enable-targets=all are modified, so the
native files for other arches will need to be dealt with separately.
I built-tested this with --enable-targets=all and reg-tested. To my
surprise, a test case (selftest.exp) had to be adjusted.
Here's the ChangeLog entry. Again, this was relatively quick to make
despite the length, thanks to David Malcom's script, although I don't
believe it's very useful information in that particular case...

In a later patch we're going to change the minimal symbol address
calculation to apply section offsets at the point of use. To make it
simpler to catch potential problem spots, this patch changes the
representation of minimal symbols and introduces new
minimal-symbol-specific variants of the various accessors. This is
necessary because it would be excessively ambitious to try to convert
all the symbol types at once.
The core of this change is just renaming a field in minimal_symbol;
the rest is just a fairly mechanical rewording.

Reimplement function calls on amd64-windows
This patch provides a standalone implementation of function calls
on amd64-windows, instead of providing some bits and pieces hooking
into the function call implementation meant for sysV (in amd64-tdep).
It makes better sense to do it this way, because the two ABIs are
actually very different; for instance, the concept of argument
classification, which is so central in the sysV ABI and drove the
the implementation in amd64-tdep, makes no sense for Windows. It
is therefore better for the Windows implementation to be completely
separate, rather than rely on adaptations of the sysV implementation.

(amd64_windows_classify): Delete.
(amd64_windows_passed_by_integer_register)
(amd64_windows_passed_by_xmm_register)
(amd64_windows_passed_by_pointer)

(amd64_windows_store_arg_in_reg, amd64_windows_push_arguments)
(amd64_windows_push_dummy_call): New functions.
(amd64_windows_init_abi): Remove setting of
tdep->call_dummy_num_integer_regs, tdep->call_dummy_integer_regs,
tdep->classify, tdep->memory_args_by_pointer and
tdep->integer_param_regs_saved_in_caller_frame.
Add call to set_gdbarch_push_dummy_call.
