Max Filippov 0ce4291e3f gdb: xtensa-linux: add call0 support 
Correctly handle a0- registers. This allows debugging call0 code in
linux natively.
The register structure is the same for windowed and call0 ABIs because
currently linux kernel internally requires windowed registers, so they are
always present.

Simon Marchi bcc0c096d5 Use ptid from regcache in almost all remaining nat files 
This patch contains almost all of the remaining changes needed to make
to_fetch_registers/to_store_registers/to_prepare_to_store independent of
inferior_ptid.  It contains only some "trivial" changes, the more
complicated ones are in separate patches.

Adhemerval Zanella 754653a7c0 Sync proc_service definition with GLIBC 
GLIBC BZ#20311 [1] proc_service.h install patch also remove 'const'
attributes from ps_get_thread_area and comment #15 discuss why to remove
the const attribute (basically since it a callback with the struct
ps_prochandle owned by the client it should be able to modify it if
it the case).

On default build this is not the issue and current g++ does not trigger
any issue with this mismatch declaration.  However, on some bootstrap
build configuration where gdbserver is build with gcc instead this
triggers:

error: conflicting types for 'ps_get_thread_area'

This patch fixes it by syncing the declaration with GLIBC.

Yao Qi d89fa914ad Remove get_thread_id 
This patch removes get_thread_id from aarch64-linux-nat.c,
arm-linux-nat.c and xtensa-linux-nat.c.

get_thread_id was added in this commit below in 2000,

which predates the ptid_t stuff added into GDB.  Nowadays, lwpid of
inferior_ptid is only zero when the inferior is created (in
fork-child.c:fork_inferior) and its lwpid will be set after
linux_nat_wait_1 gets the first event.  After that, lwpid of
inferior_ptid is not zero for linux-nat target, then we can use
ptid_get_lwp, so this function isn't needed anymore.

Even when GDB attaches to a process, the lwp of inferior_ptid
isn't zero,  see linux-nat.c:linux_nat_attach,

  /* The ptrace base target adds the main thread with (pid,0,0)
     format.  Decorate it with lwp info.  */
  ptid = ptid_build (ptid_get_pid (inferior_ptid),
		     ptid_get_pid (inferior_ptid),
		     0);

Note that linux_nat_xfer_partial shifts lwpid to pid for inferior_ptid
temperately for calling linux_ops->to_xfer_partial, but all the
affected functions in this patch are not called in
linux_ops->to_xfer_partial.

I think we can safely remove get_thread_id for all linux native targets.

Regression tested on arm-linux and aarch64-linux.  Unable to build
native GDB and test it on xtensa-linux.

Gary Benson dc06243f6f Remove redundant include directives. 
stdint.h was added to common-defs.h some months ago and should
no longer be included directly by any file.

gdb_assert.h was added to common-defs.h nearly a year ago, but
three includes have crept in since then.

This commit removes all such redundant include directives.

Baruch Siach e671835b7a gdb: xtensa: fix linux ptrace includes 
Currently, xtensa code using the Linux ptrace interface only include
sys/ptrace.h.  This file comes from the C library (glibc and uClibc,
at least), and includes a declaration of the ptrace() functions, along
with some cross architecture constants that are mostly copied from the
file located at include/uapi/linux/ptrace.h in recent Linux kernels.

For xtensa specific constants like PTRACE_GETXTREGS and
PTRACE_SETXTREGS the asm/ptrace.h include from the Linux kernel UAPI
is needed.  The code in gdbserver xtensa specific part doesn't call
ptrace() directly, so we can remove the unneeded sys/ptrace.h include.
The gdb xtensa specific code needs both headers, since it calls
ptrace().

Pedro Alves d8d2a3ee47 Normalize on PATH_MAX instead of MAXPATHLEN throughout. 
With the pathmax gnulib module in place, we can use PATH_MAX
consistently throughout, instead of the current mixbag of PATH_MAX and
MAXPATHLEN uses.  It's no longer necessary to include sys/param.h
(supposedly, I can't check all ports touched here) for MAXPATHLEN.

Don't remove sys/param.h from GDB's configure.ac, as later tests in
the file use HAVE_SYS_PARAM_H checks.

Tested on x86_64 Fedora 17.

Also cross-built for --host=i686-w64-mingw32, and --host=i586-pc-msdosdjgpp.
