This rewrites gdb's TRY/CATCH to plain C++ try/catch. The patch was
largely written by script, though one change (to a comment in
common-exceptions.h) was reverted by hand.

As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit
leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header

In AIX if gdb is debugging an application which has a signal handler
and reaches the signal handler frame, then we need to read the back
chain address from sigcontext saved on the stack, similarly the LR.
As backchain at an offset 0 will be 0, because we will have a
sigconext saved after the minimum stack size. So the correct
backchain will be at an offset after minimum stack and the LR at
an offset 8 will be of the signal millicode address.
If the back chain pointer is NULL and the LR field is in the kernel
segment(ex. 0x00004a14) then we can probably assume we are in a
signal handler.

In the existing code, when using the regset section iteration functions, the
size parameter is used in different ways.
With collect, size is used to create the buffer in which to write the regset.
(see linux-tdep.c::linux_collect_regset_section_cb).
With supply, size is used to confirm the existing regset is the correct size.
If REGSET_VARIABLE_SIZE is set then the regset can be bigger than size.
Effectively, size is the minimum possible size of the regset.
(see corelow.c::get_core_register_section).
There are currently no targets with both REGSET_VARIABLE_SIZE and a collect
function.
In SVE, a corefile can contain one of two formats after the header, both of
which are different sizes. However, when writing a core file, we always want
to write out the full bigger size.
To allow support of collects for REGSET_VARIABLE_SIZE we need two sizes.
This is done by adding supply_size and collect_size.

The 4-byte VSCR register is found inside a 16-byte field in the regset
returned by ptrace and in core files. The position of VSCR depends on
the endianess of the target, which was previously assumed to be
big-endian for the purpose of getting VSCR. This patch removes this
assumption to fix access to VSCR in little-endian mode.

The displaced_step_free_closure gdbarch hook allows architectures to
free data they might have allocated to complete a displaced step.
However, all architectures using that hook use the
simple_displaced_step_free_closure provided in arch-utils.{c,h}, which
does a simple xfree. We can remove it and do an xfree directly instead
of calling the hook.

GDB is currently not aware that wchar_t is a built-in type in C++
mode. This is usually not a problem because the debug info describes
the type, so when you have a program loaded, you don't notice this.
However, if you try expressions involving wchar_t before a program is
loaded, gdb errors out:

No symbol table is loaded. Use the "file" command.
(gdb) p L"hello"
No type named wchar_t.
(gdb) ptype L"hello"
No type named wchar_t.
This commit teaches gdb about the type. After:
(gdb) p (wchar_t)-1

(gdb) p L"hello"

(gdb) ptype L"hello"
type = wchar_t [6]
Unlike char16_t/char32_t, unfortunately, the underlying type of
wchar_t is implementation dependent, both size and signness. So this
requires adding a couple new gdbarch hooks.
I grepped the GCC code base for WCHAR_TYPE and WCHAR_TYPE_SIZE, and it
seems to me that the majority of the ABIs have a 4-byte signed
wchar_t, so that's what I made the default for GDB too. And then I
looked for which ports have a 16-bit and/or unsigned wchar_t, and made
GDB follow suit.

Thus, we'll be getting rid of the local volatile exception object, and
declaring the caught exception in the catch block.
This allows reimplementing TRY/CATCH in terms of C++ exceptions when
building in C++ mode, while still allowing to build GDB in C mode
(using setjmp/longjmp), as a transition step.
TBC, after this patch, is it _not_ valid to have code between the TRY
and the CATCH blocks, like:

Just like it isn't valid to do that with C++'s native try/catch.
By switching to creating the exception object inside the CATCH block
scope, we can get rid of all the explicitly allocated volatile
exception objects all over the tree, and map the CATCH block more
directly to C++'s catch blocks.
The majority of the TRY_CATCH -> TRY+CATCH+END_CATCH conversion was
done with a script, rerun from scratch at every rebase, no manual
editing involved. After the mechanical conversion, a few places
needed manual intervention, to fix preexisting cases where we were
using the exception object outside of the TRY_CATCH block, and cases
where we were using "else" after a 'if (ex.reason) < 0)' [a CATCH
after this patch]. The result was folded into this patch so that GDB
still builds at each incremental step.
END_CATCH is necessary for two reasons:
First, because we name the exception object in the CATCH block, which
requires creating a scope, which in turn must be closed somewhere.
Declaring the exception variable in the initializer field of a for
block, like:

would avoid needing END_CATCH, but alas, in C mode, we build with C90,
which doesn't allow mixed declarations and code.
Second, because when TRY/CATCH are wired to real C++ try/catch, as
long as we need to handle cleanup chains, even if there's no CATCH
block that wants to catch the exception, we need for stop at every
frame in the unwind chain and run cleanups, then rethrow. That will
be done in END_CATCH.
After we require C++, we'll still need TRY/CATCH/END_CATCH until
cleanups are completely phased out -- TRY/CATCH in C++ mode will
save/restore the current cleanup chain, like in C mode, and END_CATCH
catches otherwise uncaugh exceptions, runs cleanups and rethrows, so
that C++ cleanups and exceptions can coexist.
IMO, this still makes the TRY/CATCH code look a bit more like a
newcomer would expect, so IMO worth it even if we weren't considering
C++.

This patch de-indents the code provided as a comment explaining
how the code declaring the ld_info32_desc and ld_info64_desc globals
was generated. The intent is to avoid an ARI warning about a macro
not starting at column zero of the line.

The current code attempts to provide relocation support when debugging
core files via the rs6000_xfer_partial method of the rs6000-nat
target_ops vector. However, this target_ops vector does not get pushed
on the target stack at all when debugging core files, thus bypassing
completely that part of the code.
This patch fixes the problem by extending corelow's core_xfer_partial
into handling the TARGET_OBJECT_LIBRARIES_AIX object.

Given the following code:
float global_float = 0.0;

}
GDB incorrectly calls set_float if the set_float function is marked
as prototyped:
(gdb) call set_float (5.0)
(gdb) print global_float
$1 = 2048
What happens, when the function is marked as prototyped, is that
GDB finds that the argument is a float, casts the value given in
the expression to a float, and then gives that float to ppc-aix/
ppc-lynx178's push_dummy_call gdbarch routine. The latter then blindly
copies it as is in the first floating-point register, instead of
making sure that it has the proper format first.

On ppc-aix, type wchar_t is 2 bytes long, so override the default
target-wide-charset (UTF-32) with UTF-16. This allows us to print
wide characters correctly.
gdb/ChangeLog:

(rs6000_aix_init_osabi): Set auto_wide_charset gdbarch method.
Due to the way this function is registers, we know that given bfd's
flavour should always be bfd_target_xcoff_flavour, thus making
the former test always true, which means that this function should
always return GDB_OSABI_AIX, and never return GDB_OSABI_UNKNOWN.
This patch also fixes a typo detected by Tom Tromey that caused
the test itself to be completely ineffective.
