H.J. Lu 8f79b794ce [x86-64] Omit dynamic sections symbols
Define elf_backend_omit_section_dynsym to bfd_true for x86-64, similar
to i386, x86-64 doesn't need dynamic sections symbols.

H.J. Lu 0cb4071ef9 Add -mrelax-relocations= to x86 assembler
The x86 relax relocations introduced in binutils 2.26 aren't supported
by linker on Solaris older than Solaris 12.  To use x86 assembler with
older Solaris linker, this patch adds

1. A command line option -mrelax-relocations= to x86 assembler to
control whether to generate relax relocations.
2. A configure option --enable-x86-relax-relocations to decide whether
x86 assembler should generate relax relocations by default.  It is
defaulted to yes, except for x86 Solaris targets older than Solaris 12.

H.J. Lu 56ceb5b540 Add R_X86_64_[REX_]GOTPCRELX support to gas and ld
This patch adds support for the R_X86_64_GOTPCRELX and
R_X86_64_REX_GOTPCRELX relocations proposed in

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/x86-64-abi/n9AWHogmVY0

to gas and ld.  It updates gas to generate R_X86_64_GOTPCRELX,
R_X86_64_REX_GOTPCRELX if there is a REX prefix, relocation for memory
operand, foo@GOTPCREL(%rip).  With the locally defined symbol, foo, we
convert

  mov foo@GOTPCREL(%rip), %reg

to

   lea foo(%rip), %reg

and convert

   call/jmp *foo@GOTPCREL(%rip)
to

   nop call foo/jmp foo nop

When PIC is false, convert

   test %reg, foo@GOTPCREL(%rip)
to

test $foo, %reg

and convert

   binop foo@GOTPCREL(%rip), %reg

to

   binop $foo, %reg

where binop is one of adc, add, and, cmp, or, sbb, sub, xor instructions.

H.J. Lu 144bed8d4d Properly match PLT entry against .got.plt relocation
Relocations against .got.plt section may not be in the same order as
entries in PLT section.  It is incorrect to assume that the Ith reloction
index against .got.plt section always maps to the (I + 1)th entry in PLT
section.  This patch matches the .got.plt relocation offset/index in PLT
entry against the index in .got.plt relocation table.  It only checks
R_*_JUMP_SLOT and R_*_IRELATIVE relocations.  It ignores R_*_TLS_DESC
and R_*_TLSDESC relocations since they have different PLT entries.

H.J. Lu 4584ec1207 Check incompatible existing default symbol definition
After resolving a versioned reference, foo@VER1, to a default versioned
definition, foo@@VER1, from a shared object, we also merge it with
the existing regular default symbol definition, foo.  When foo is IFUNC
and foo@@VER1 aren't, we will merge 2 incompatible definitions.  This
patch avoids merging foo@@VER1 definition with foo definition if
one is IFUNC and the other isn't.

Will Newton 1419bbe571 aarch64: Add support for GNU indirect functions.
Add support for STT_GNU_IFUNC symbols to the AArch64 bfd backend. The tests
are ported from the ld-ifunc tests but are enabled for cross builds so can
be run easily without hardware or a simulator.

H.J. Lu 1622ff3b43 Check regular reference without non-GOT reference
non_got_ref may not be set when building shared library. We need to set
non_got_ref if there are any non-PIC relocations.  But we only did this
when there were no PLT/GOT relocations.  It failed when there is a PLT
relocation.  This checkin moves the non_got_ref check out.
