3c21913415 libstdc++: Optimise GCD algorithms
The current std::gcd and std::chrono::duration::_S_gcd algorithms are
both recursive. This is potentially expensive to evaluate in constant
expressions, because each level of recursion makes a new copy of the
function to evaluate. The maximum number of steps is bounded
(proportional to the number of decimal digits in the smaller value) and
so unlikely to exceed the limit for constexpr nesting, but the memory
usage is still suboptimal. By using an iterative algorithm we avoid
that compile-time cost. Because looping in constexpr functions is not
allowed until C++14, we need to keep the recursive implementation in
duration::_S_gcd for C++11 mode.

For std::gcd we can also optimise runtime performance by using the
binary GCD algorithm.

libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog:

	* include/std/chrono (duration::_S_gcd): Use iterative algorithm
	for C++14 and later.
	* include/std/numeric (__detail::__gcd): Replace recursive
	Euclidean algorithm with iterative version of binary GCD algorithm.

82db1a42e9 libstdc++: Fix std::gcd and std::lcm for unsigned integers [PR 92978]
This fixes a bug with mixed signed and unsigned types, where converting
a negative value to the unsigned result type alters the value. The
solution is to obtain the absolute values of the arguments immediately
and to perform the actual GCD or LCM algorithm on two arguments of the
same type.

In order to operate on the most negative number without overflow when
taking its absolute, use an unsigned type for the result of the abs
operation. For example, -INT_MIN will overflow, but -(unsigned)INT_MIN
is (unsigned)INT_MAX+1U which is the correct value.

libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog:

	PR libstdc++/92978
	* include/std/numeric (__abs_integral): Replace with ...
	(__detail::__absu): New function template that returns an
	unsigned type, guaranteeing it can represent the most
	negative signed value.
	(__detail::__gcd, __detail::__lcm): Require arguments to
	be unsigned and therefore already non-negative.
	(gcd, lcm): Convert arguments to absolute value as unsigned
	type before calling __detail::__gcd or __detail::__lcm.
	* include/experimental/numeric (gcd, lcm): Likewise.
	* testsuite/26_numerics/gcd/gcd_neg.cc: Adjust expected
	errors.
	* testsuite/26_numerics/lcm/lcm_neg.cc: Likewise.

883246530f x86-vxworks malloc aligns to 8 bytes like solaris
Vxworks 7's malloc, like Solaris', only ensures 8-byte alignment of
returned pointers on 32-bit x86, though GCC's stddef.h defines
max_align_t with 16-byte alignment for __float128. This patch enables
on x86-vxworks the same memory_resource workaround used for x86-solaris.

The testsuite also had a workaround, defining BAD_MAX_ALIGN_T and
xfailing the test; extend those to x86-vxworks as well, and remove the
check for char-aligned requested allocation to be aligned like
max_align_t. With that change, the test passes on x86-vxworks; I'm
guessing that's the same reason for the test not to pass on
x86-solaris (and on x86_64-solaris -m32), so with the fix, I'm
tentatively removing the xfail.

for libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog

	PR libstdc++/77691

98f29f5638 libstdc++: Fix type-erasure in experimental::net::executor (PR 94203)
The _Tgt and _TgtImpl types that implement type-erasure didn't agree on
the virtual interface, so failed as soon as they were instantiated. With
Clang they failed even sooner. The interface was also dependent on
whether RTTI was enabled or not.

This patch fixes the broken virtual functions and makes the type work
without RTTI, by using a pointer to a specialization of a function
template (similar to the approaches in std::function and std::any).

The changes to the virtual functions would be an ABI change, except that
the previous code didn't even compile if instantiated. This is
experimental TS material anyway.

	PR libstdc++/94203
	* include/experimental/executor (executor::executor(Executor)): Call

c62f5e6e1f libstdc++: Add default constructor to net::service_already_exists (PR 94199)
The service_already_exists exception type specified in the TS doesn't
have any constructors defined. Since its base class isn't default
constructible, that means has no usable constructors. This may be a
defect in the TS.

This patch fixes it by adding a default constructor, but making it
private. The make_service function is declared as a friend to be able to
call that private constructor.

	PR libstdc++/94199

a51a546c17 libstdc++: Fix FS-dependent filesystem tests
These tests were failing on XFS because it doesn't support setting file
timestamps past 2038, so the expected overflow when reading back a huge
timestamp into a file_time_type didn't happen.

Additionally, the std::filesystem::file_time_type::clock has an
epoch that is out of range of 32-bit time_t so testing times around that
epoch may also fail.

This fixes the tests to give up gracefully if the filesystem doesn't
support times that can't be represented in 32-bit time_t.

fff148b787 libstdc++: Fix error handling in filesystem::remove_all (PR93201)
When recursing into a directory, any errors that occur while removing a
directory entry are ignored, because the subsequent increment of the
directory iterator clears the error_code object.

This fixes that bug by checking the result of each recursive operation
before incrementing. This is a change in observable behaviour, because
previously other directory entries would still be removed even if one
(or more) couldn't be removed due to errors. Now the operation stops on
the first error, which is what the code intended to do all along. The
standard doesn't specify what happens in this case (because the order
that the entries are processed is unspecified anyway).

It also improves the error reporting so that the name of the file that
could not be removed is included in the filesystem_error exception. This
is done by introducing a new helper type for reporting errors with
additional context and a new function that uses that type. Then the
overload of std::filesystem::remove_all that throws an exception can use
the new function to ensure any exception contains the additional
information.

For std::experimental::filesystem::remove_all just fix the bug where
errors are ignored.

	PR libstdc++/93201
	* src/c++17/fs_ops.cc (do_remove_all): New function implementing more
	detailed error reporting for remove_all. Check result of recursive
	call before incrementing iterator.
	(remove_all(const path&), remove_all(const path&, error_code&)): Use

	are reported correctly.

26b1320ee5 PR libstdc++/90281 Fix string conversions for filesystem::path
Fix several bugs in the encoding conversions for filesystem::path that
prevent conversion of Unicode characters outside the Basic Multilingual
Plane, and prevent returning basic_string specializations with
alternative allocator types.

The std::codecvt_utf8 class template is not suitable for UTF-16
conversions because it uses UCS-2 instead. For conversions between UTF-8
and UTF-16 either std::codecvt<C, char, mbstate> or
codecvt_utf8_utf16<C> must be used.

The __str_codecvt_in and __str_codecvt_out utilities do not
return false on a partial conversion (e.g. for invalid or incomplete
Unicode input). Add new helpers that treat partial conversions as
errors, and use them for all filesystem::path conversions.

52ea1caf28 PR libstdc++/77691 fix resource_adaptor failures due to max_align_t bugs
Remove the hardcoded whitelist of allocators expected to return memory
aligned to alignof(max_align_t), because that doesn't work when the
platform's malloc() and GCC's max_align_t do not agree what the largest
fundamental alignment is. It's also sub-optimal for user-defined
allocators that return memory suitable for any fundamental alignment.

Instead use a hardcoded list of alignments that are definitely supported
by the platform malloc, and use a copy of the allocator rebound to a POD
type with the requested alignment. Only allocate an oversized
buffer to use with std::align for alignments larger than any of the
hardcoded values.

For 32-bit Solaris x86 do not include alignof(max_align_t) in the

fb8b3e2993 Fix basic_string_view typedefs and enforce preconditions
The basic_string_view::pointer and basic_string_view::reference typedefs
are supposed to refer to the non-const value type.

In previous standards having traits_type::char_type different to
value_type was simply undefined, but in the C++2a draft it's ill-formed,
as changed by P1148R0. For std::basic_string and iostreams we might
want to only enforce this conditionally for __cplusplus > 201703L but
for std::basic_string_view we don't have backwards compatibility
concerns. Also add assertions to verify the _CharT argument is a
"char-like" type (non-array, trivial, standard layout type).

Also remove the non-standard basic_string_view::_M_check and

5a58e967b5 PR c++/90047 - ICE with enable_if alias template.
In order to make alias templates useful for SFINAE we instantiate them under
the prevailing 'complain' argument, so an error encountered while
instantiating during SFINAE context is silent. The problem in this PR comes
when we later look up the erroneous instantiation and don't give an error at
that point. Fixed by not adding an erroneous instantiation to the hash
table, so we instantiate it again when needed and get the error. This
required changes to a number of tests, which previously said "substitution
failed:" with no explanation of what the failure was; now we properly
explain.

dd0f7ba273 PR libstdc++/88881 adjust filesystem::status and tests for mingw semantics
On Windows stat("foo/bar/../.") will resolve to "foo" even if that is a
non-directory and "foo/bar" does not exist. This is the expected
behaviour and consistent with boost::filesystem, so don't try to correct
it. The only unwanted behaviour is that stat("baz/") fails due to a
mingw bug (fixed in mingw-w64 v6.0.0) so add a workaround.

	PR libstdc++/88881
	* src/c++17/fs_ops.cc (canonical(const path&, error_code&))
	[_GLIBCXX_FILESYSTEM_IS_WINDOWS]: Normalize path, to match behaviour
	of filesystem::exists.
	(create_directories(const path&, error_code&)): Add assertions.
	(status(const path&, error_code&)) [_GLIBCXX_FILESYSTEM_IS_WINDOWS]:
	Add workaround for bug in _wstat for paths with trailing slash.
