Armv6 has support for unaligned accesses to memory. However, the thumb1 code patterns were trying to use the 32-bit code constraints. One failure mode from this was that the patterns are designed to be compatible with conditional execution and this was then causing an assert in the compiler. The unaligned_loadhis pattern is only used for expanding extv, which in turn is only enabled for systems supporting thumb2. Given that there is no simple expansion for a thumb1 sign-extending load (the instruction has no immediate offset form and requires two registers in the address) it seems simpler to just disable this for thumb1. Fixed thusly: PR target/89400 * config/arm/arm.md (unaligned_loadsi): Add variant for thumb1. Restrict 'all' variant to 32-bit configurations. (unaligned_loadhiu): Likewise. This directory contains the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC). The GNU Compiler Collection is free software. See the files whose names start with COPYING for copying permission. The manuals, and some of the runtime libraries, are under different terms; see the individual source files for details. The directory INSTALL contains copies of the installation information as HTML and plain text. The source of this information is gcc/doc/install.texi. The installation information includes details of what is included in the GCC sources and what files GCC installs. See the file gcc/doc/gcc.texi (together with other files that it includes) for usage and porting information. An online readable version of the manual is in the files gcc/doc/gcc.info*.
