f3bb467ff6 target: Fix target_sense_desc_format NULL pointer dereference
This patch allows target_sense_desc_format() to be called without a
valid se_device pointer, which can occur during an early exception
ahead of transport_lookup_cmd_lun() setting up se_cmd->se_device.

This addresses a v4.3-rc1 specific NULL pointer dereference
regression introduced by commit 4e4937e8.

9450918293 target: Perform RCU callback barrier before backend/fabric unload
This patch addresses a v4.2-rc1 regression where backend driver
module unload happening immediately after TBO->free_device()
does internal call_rcu(), will currently result in IRQ context
rcu_process_callbacks() use-after-free paging OOPsen.

It adds the missing rcu_barrier() in target_backend_unregister()
to perform an explicit RCU barrier waiting for all RCU callbacks
to complete before releasing target_backend_ops memory, and
allowing TBO->module exit to proceed.

Also, do the same for fabric drivers in target_unregister_template()
to ensure se_deve_entry->rcu_head -> kfree_rcu() callbacks have
completed, before allowing target_core_fabric_ops->owner module
exit to proceed.

4e4937e8ae target: Return descriptor format sense data in case the LU spans 64bit sectors
In case a LU spans 64bit sectors, fixed size sense data information
field is only 32 bits which means the sector information will be truncated.

Thus, if the LU spans 64bit sectors, use descriptor format sense data to
correctly report sector information.

0a06d4309d target: simplify backend driver registration
Rewrite the backend driver registration based on what we did to the fabric
drivers:  introduce a read-only struct target_bakckend_ops that the driver
registers, which is then instanciate as a struct target_backend by the
core.  This allows the ops vector to be smaller and allows us to mark it
const.  At the same time the registration function can set up the
configfs attributes, avoiding the need to add additional boilerplate code
for that to the drivers.

73112edca9 target: Move dev_cit to struct se_subsystem_api
This patch adds initial support for dev_cit as external config_item_type.

This includes a new struct target_backend_cits to hold the external CITs
within struct se_subsystem_api, and target_core_setup_sub_cits() to be
used by backend drivers ahead of transport_subsystem_register().

It adds a TB_CIT_SETUP() helper following target_core_fabric_configfs.c
to perform the config_item_type assignments.

Also, drop left-over target_core_dev_cit from target_core_configfs.c code
and update comments.

2ed37f6c9b target: Deletion of unnecessary checks before the function call "module_put"
The module_put() function tests whether its argument is NULL and then
returns immediately. Thus the test around the call is not needed.

This issue was detected by using the Coccinelle software.

0fd97ccf45 target: kill struct se_subsystem_dev
Simplify the code a lot by killing the superflous struct se_subsystem_dev.
Instead se_device is allocated early on by the backend driver, which allocates
it as part of its own per-device structure, borrowing the scheme that is for
example used for inode allocation.

c4795fb20e target: header reshuffle, part2
This reorganized the headers under include/target into:

 - target_core_base.h stays as is with all target-wide data stuctures and defines
 - target_core_backend.h contains the whole interface to I/O backends
 - target_core_fabric.h contains the whole interface to fabric modules

Except for those only the various configfs macro headers stay around.

e26d99aed4 target: reshuffle headers
Create a new headers, drivers/target/target_core_internal.h that is supposed
to hold all target_core-internal prototypes.  Move all non-exported includes
from include/target to it, and merge the smaller prototype-only includes
inside drivers/target into it as well.  Mark functions that were found to
not be called outside their implementation file static.

6708bb27bb target: Follow up core updates from AGrover and HCH (round 4)
This patch contains the squashed version of forth round series cleanups
from Andy and Christoph following the post heavy lifting in the preceeding:
'Eliminate usage of struct se_mem' and 'Make all control CDBs scatter-gather'
changes.  This also includes a conversion of target core and the v3.0
mainline fabric modules (loopback and tcm_fc) to use pr_debug and the
CONFIG_DYNAMIC_DEBUG infrastructure!

05aea6e7e4 [SCSI] target: Remove unnecessary hba_dev_list walk and se_clear_dev_ports legacy code
This patch removes a legacy struct se_hba->hba_dev_list -> se_release_device_for_hba()
list walk in core_delete_hba(), which is no longer required while using configfs
VFS level parent/child struct config_group dependency referencing.  The reason
is because any struct se_hba->hba_dev_list-> struct se_device members are going
to have to be released via:

	rmdir /sys/kernel/config/target/core/$HBA/*

before rmdir release of struct se_hba via target_core_configfs.c:
target_core_call_delhbafromtarget() -> core_delete_hba()

	rmdir /sys/kernel/config/target/core/$HBA

to release struct se_hba in core_delete_hba().

This patch also removes the legacy se_clear_dev_ports() function, which is
left-over pre-configfs shutdown logic for when se_free_virtual_device()
was responsible for walking struct se_device->dev_sep_list and calling
core_dev_del_lun() for each individual active struct se_port->se_lun.

The reason this can be removed is because all struct se_device->dev_sep_list
-> struct se_port communication is done via configfs symlinks, which
means that an target fabric module's endpoints containg active struct
se_port(s) will have to be released via target_core_fabric_configfs.c:
target_fabric_port_unlink() via:

	unlink /sys/kernel/config/target/$FABRIC_MOD/$ENDPOINT/tpgt_$TPGT/lun/lun_$LUN_ID/<symlink>

before rmdir release of struct se_device in target_core_configfs.c:
target_core_drop_subdev() -> se_free_virtual_device() can happen via:

	rmdir /sys/kernel/config/target/core/$HBA/*

to release struct se_subsystem_dev in target_core_drop_subdev()

LIO target is a full featured in-kernel target framework with the
following feature set:

High-performance, non-blocking, multithreaded architecture with SIMD
support.

Advanced SCSI feature set:

    * Persistent Reservations (PRs)
    * Asymmetric Logical Unit Assignment (ALUA)
    * Protocol and intra-nexus multiplexing, load-balancing and failover (MC/S)
    * Full Error Recovery (ERL=0,1,2)
    * Active/active task migration and session continuation (ERL=2)
    * Thin LUN provisioning (UNMAP and WRITE_SAMExx)

Multiprotocol target plugins

Storage media independence:

    * Virtualization of all storage media; transparent mapping of IO to LUNs
    * No hard limits on number of LUNs per Target; maximum LUN size ~750 TB
    * Backstores: SATA, SAS, SCSI, BluRay, DVD, FLASH, USB, ramdisk, etc.
