Ingo Molnar 549a397652 tools include: Sync kernel ABI headers with tooling headers
Time for a sync with ABI/uapi headers with the upcoming v4.14 kernel.

None of the ABI changes require any source code level changes to our
existing in-kernel tooling code:

  - tools/arch/s390/include/uapi/asm/kvm.h:

New KVM_S390_VM_TOD_EXT ABI, not used by in-kernel tooling.

  - tools/arch/x86/include/asm/cpufeatures.h:
    tools/arch/x86/include/asm/disabled-features.h:

New PCID, SME and VGIF x86 CPU feature bits defined.

  - tools/include/asm-generic/hugetlb_encode.h:
    tools/include/uapi/asm-generic/mman-common.h:
    tools/include/uapi/linux/mman.h:

Two new madvise() flags, plus a hugetlb system call mmap flags
      restructuring/extension changes.

  - tools/include/uapi/drm/drm.h:
    tools/include/uapi/drm/i915_drm.h:

New drm_syncobj_create flags definitions, new drm_syncobj_wait
and drm_syncobj_array ABIs. DRM_I915_PERF_* calls and a new
I915_PARAM_HAS_EXEC_FENCE_ARRAY ABI for the Intel driver.

  - tools/include/uapi/linux/bpf.h:

New bpf_sock fields (::mark and ::priority), new XDP_REDIRECT
      action, new kvm_ppc_smmu_info fields (::data_keys, instr_keys)

Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo ed4aad50ea tools include: Provide gcc based cmpxchg fallback for !x86
We've been using an atomic_t implementation subset based on the gcc
builtin functions for a while, now, with refcount.h we need cmpxchg(),
use gcc's __sync_val_compare_and_swap() for that.

Matthew Wilcox c68a2aab33 radix tree test suite: Remove duplicate bitops code
By adding __set_bit and __clear_bit to the tools include directory, we
can share the bitops code. This reveals an include loop between kernel.h,
log2.h, bitmap.h and bitops.h.  Break it the same way as the kernel does;
by moving the kernel.h include from bitops.h to bitmap.h.

Peter Zijlstra e81fcd4372 tools: Simplify BITS_PER_LONG define
Do it using (__CHAR_BIT__ * __SIZEOF_LONG__), simpler, works everywhere,
reduces the complexity by ditching CONFIG_64BIT, that was being
synthesized from yet another set of defines, which proved fragile,
breaking the build on linux-next for no obvious reasons.

Committer Note:

Except on:

gcc version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-55)

Fallback to __WORDSIZE in that case...

Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo 2a00f026a1 tools: Fix up BITS_PER_LONG setting
It was set based on CONFIG_64BIT, that is available only when using
Kconfig, which we're working towards but not to the point of having this
CONFIG variable set, so synthesize it from available compiler defined
defines, __SIZEOF_LONG__ or, lacking that, __WORDSIZE.

Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo bb9707077b tools: Copy the bitsperlong.h files from the kernel
We use it in bitops/__ffs.h and bitops/atomic.h, that we also got from
the kernel, but were getting it from either newer systems that carry it
in /usr/include, or from the kernel sources, that we decided not to
touch from tools/ code. Fix it.

Josh Poimboeuf 1698872b5c tools: Copy hashtable.h into tools directory
Copy hashtable.h from include/linux/tools.h. It's needed by objtool in
the next patch in the series.

Add some includes that it needs, and remove references to
kernel-specific features like RCU and __read_mostly.

Also change some if its dependency headers' includes to use quotes
instead of brackets so gcc can find them.

Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo 25cd480e44 tools: Remove bitops/hweight usage of bits in tools/perf
We need to use lib/hweight.c for that, just like we do for lib/rbtree.c,
so tools need to link hweight.o. For now do it directly, but we need to
have a tools/lib/lk.a or .so that collects these goodies...
