Kamalesh Babulal f9b6c1de69 [POWERPC] Fix build failure on legacy iSeries
Include <asm/iseries/hv_call.h> in arch/powerpc/mm/stab.c to fix the
following compile error (found with randconfig):

  CC arch/powerpc/mm/stab.o
arch/powerpc/mm/stab.c: In function "stab_initialize":
arch/powerpc/mm/stab.c:282: error: implicit declaration of function "HvCall1"
arch/powerpc/mm/stab.c:282: error: "HvCallBaseSetASR" undeclared (first use in this function)
arch/powerpc/mm/stab.c:282: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
arch/powerpc/mm/stab.c:282: error: for each function it appears in.)
make[1]: *** [arch/powerpc/mm/stab.o] Error 1
make: *** [arch/powerpc/mm] Error 2

Paul Mackerras 1189be6508 [POWERPC] Use 1TB segments
This makes the kernel use 1TB segments for all kernel mappings and for
user addresses of 1TB and above, on machines which support them
(currently POWER5+, POWER6 and PA6T).

We detect that the machine supports 1TB segments by looking at the
ibm,processor-segment-sizes property in the device tree.

We don't currently use 1TB segments for user addresses < 1T, since
that would effectively prevent 32-bit processes from using huge pages
unless we also had a way to revert to using 256MB segments. That
would be possible but would involve extra complications (such as
keeping track of which segment size was used when HPTEs were inserted)
and is not addressed here.

Parts of this patch were originally written by Ben Herrenschmidt.

Kumar Gala 74a0ba61b1 [POWERPC] Move inline asm eieio to using eieio inline function
Use the eieio function so we can redefine what eieio does rather
than direct inline asm. This is part code clean up and partially
because not all PPCs have eieio (book-e has mbar that maps to eieio).

Michael Ellerman 0108d3fe3c [POWERPC] Add __init annotations to reserve_mem() and stabs_alloc()
reserve_mem() and stabs_alloc() are both called only from other __init
routines, so can be marked __init.

Paul Mackerras 4306443128 powerpc: Remove unused paca->pgdir field
The pgdir field in the paca was a leftover from the dynamic VSIDs
patch, and is not used in the current kernel code. This removes it.

KAMEZAWA Hiroyuki 0e5519548f [PATCH] for_each_possible_cpu: powerpc
for_each_cpu() actually iterates across all possible CPUs. We've had mistakes
in the past where people were using for_each_cpu() where they should have been
iterating across only online or present CPUs. This is inefficient and
possibly buggy.

We're renaming for_each_cpu() to for_each_possible_cpu() to avoid this in the
future.

This patch replaces for_each_cpu with for_each_possible_cpu.

Michael Ellerman d7a5b2ffa1 [PATCH] powerpc: Always panic if lmb_alloc() fails
Currently most callers of lmb_alloc() don't check if it worked or not, if it
ever does weird bad things will probably happen. The few callers who do check
just panic or BUG_ON.

So make lmb_alloc() panic internally, to catch bugs at the source. The few
callers who did check the result no longer need to.

The only caller that did anything interesting with the return result was
careful_allocation(). For it we create __lmb_alloc_base() which _doesn't_ panic
automatically, a little messy, but passable.

Michael Ellerman b5666f7039 [PATCH] powerpc: Separate usage of KERNELBASE and PAGE_OFFSET
This patch separates usage of KERNELBASE and PAGE_OFFSET. I haven't
looked at any of the PPC32 code, if we ever want to support Kdump on
PPC we'll have to do another audit, ditto for iSeries.

This patch makes PAGE_OFFSET the constant, it'll always be 0xC * 1
gazillion for 64-bit.

To get a physical address from a virtual one you subtract PAGE_OFFSET,
_not_ KERNELBASE.

KERNELBASE is the virtual address of the start of the kernel, it's
often the same as PAGE_OFFSET, but _might not be_.

If you want to know something's offset from the start of the kernel
you should subtract KERNELBASE.

Michael Ellerman 51fae6de24 [PATCH] powerpc: Add a is_kernel_addr() macro
There's a bunch of code that compares an address with KERNELBASE to see if
it's a "kernel address", ie. >= KERNELBASE. The proper test is actually to
compare with PAGE_OFFSET, since we're going to change KERNELBASE soon.

So replace all of them with an is_kernel_addr() macro that does that.

Olof Johansson ca507eaf32 [PATCH] powerpc: remove redundant code in stab init

hypervisor and stab (pre-POWER4 segment management). This removes
the redundant code in stab_initalize().

Paul Mackerras 799d6046d3 [PATCH] powerpc: merge code values for identifying platforms
This patch merges platform codes. systemcfg->platform is no longer used,
systemcfg use in general is deprecated as much as possible (and renamed
_systemcfg before it gets completely moved elsewhere in a future patch),
_machine is now used on ppc64 along as ppc32. Platform codes aren't gone
yet but we are getting a step closer. A bunch of asm code in head[_64].S
is also turned into C code.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt 3c726f8dee [PATCH] ppc64: support 64k pages
Adds a new CONFIG_PPC_64K_PAGES which, when enabled, changes the kernel
base page size to 64K. The resulting kernel still boots on any
hardware. On current machines with 4K pages support only, the kernel
will maintain 16 "subpages" for each 64K page transparently.

Note that while real 64K capable HW has been tested, the current patch
will not enable it yet as such hardware is not released yet, and I'm
still verifying with the firmware architects the proper to get the
information from the newer hypervisors.
