Rupesh Gujare 6af4762239 staging: ozwpan: Create deferred work to destroy PD object.
Currently we call oz_pd_destroy() from softirq context, where we

pcmuio_detach() is called by the comedi core even if pcmuio_attach()

In rxtx.c many calls to BBvCaculateParameter are not endian
corrected all calls here need to be endian corrected.

Correct the endian in BBvCaculateParameter.

In card.c: CARDvSetRSPINF pwPhyLen points to awLen and is
manually applied to abyData. Because it is now endian
corrected put_unaligned is needed to correct it.

In rxtx.c remove were endian is corrected.

This allows to merge BBvCalculateParameter *pwPhyLen,*pbyPhySrv

Allow stepless synthesizer configuration. With that change we lose
precision a little bit, as it is now between +-500Hz from the target.
It could be better but on that case calculation algorithm goes more
complex and atm there is more important things to do.
Two approach to improve which comes to my mind are:
1) select and use biggest suitable step
2) use greatest common divisor algo to find divisor for thresh & frac
when possible to avoid rounding errors, which is root of cause of
current +-500Hz inaccuracy.

Antti Palosaari 020046812f [media] msi3101: enhance sampling results
It looks like there is some extra data carried to enhance sampling
results. When you tune to some some weak/empty channel those bits
are always zeroes. When you tune to some channel where is very
strong signals those bits are all zeroes.
Examining those 32-bits reveals shortly there is 16 pieces of 2-bit
numbers. Number seen are 0, 1 and 3 - for some reason 2 is not used.
I used that number to shift bits given amount to left, "increasing"
sampling resolution by 3-bits. It may be wrong, but after some testing
it still provides better signal.

Daniel Vetter b5dc0d108c drm/imx: kill firstopen callback
This thing seems to do some kind of delayed setup. Really, real kms
drivers shouldn't do that at all. Either stuff needs to be dynamically
hotplugged or the driver setup sequence needs to be fixed.

This patch here just moves the setup at the very end of the driver
load callback, with the locking adjusted accordingly.

Daniel Vetter b0e898ac55 drm: remove FASYNC support
So I've stumbled over drm_fasync and wondered what it does. Digging
that up is quite a story.

First I've had to read up on what this does and ended up being rather
bewildered why peopled loved signals so much back in the days that
they've created SIGIO just for that ...

Then I wondered how this ever works, and what that strange "No-op."
comment right above it should mean. After all calling the core fasync
helper is pretty obviously not a noop. After reading through the
kernels FASYNC implementation I've noticed that signals are only sent
out to the processes attached with FASYNC by calling kill_fasync.

No merged drm driver has ever done that.

After more digging I've found out that the only driver that ever used
this is the so called GAMMA driver. I've frankly never heard of such a
gpu brand ever before. Now FASYNC seems to not have been the only bad
thing with that driver, since Dave Airlie removed it from the drm
driver with prejudice:

commit 1430163b4bbf7b00367ea1066c1c5fe85dbeefed
Author: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
Date: Sun Aug 29 12:04:35 2004 +0000

Drop GAMMA DRM from a great height ...

Long story short, the drm fasync support seems to be doing absolutely
nothing. And the only user of it was never merged into the upstream
kernel. And we don't need any fops->fasync callback since the fcntl
implementation in the kernel already implements the noop case
correctly.

So stop this particular cargo-cult and rip it all out.

v2: Kill drm_fasync assignments in rcar (newly added) and imx drivers
(somehow I've missed that one in staging). Also drop the reference in
the drm DocBook. ARM compile-fail reported by Rob Clark.

v3: Move the removal of dev->buf_asnyc assignment in drm_setup to this
patch here.

v4: Actually git add ... tsk.

Hector Palacios 1eb70a9745 iio: mxs-lradc: change the realbits to 12
The LRADC virtual channels have an 18 bit field to store the sum of up
to 2^5 accumulated samples. The read_raw function however only operates
over a single sample (12 bit resolution).
In order to use this field for scaling operations, we need it to be the
exact resolution value of the LRADC.
Besides, the driver was using an 18 bit mask (LRADC_CH_VALUE_MASK) to
report touch coordinates to userland. A 12 bit mask should be used instead
or else the touch libraries will expect a coordinates range between 0
and 0x3ffff (18 bits), instead of between 0 and 0xfff (12 bits).

Yann Droneaud 9c6cd3b390 android/sync: use get_unused_fd_flags(O_CLOEXEC) instead of get_unused_fd()
Macro get_unused_fd() is used to allocate a file descriptor with
default flags. Those default flags (0) can be "unsafe":
O_CLOEXEC must be used by default to not leak file descriptor
across exec().

Instead of macro get_unused_fd(), functions anon_inode_getfd()
or get_unused_fd_flags() should be used with flags given by userspace.
If not possible, flags should be set to O_CLOEXEC to provide userspace
with a default safe behavor.

In a further patch, get_unused_fd() will be removed so that
new code start using anon_inode_getfd() or get_unused_fd_flags()
with correct flags.

This patch replaces calls to get_unused_fd() with call to
get_unused_fd_flags(O_CLOEXEC) following advice from Erik Gilling.

This patch separates success & failure block along with fixing
following issues:-

1. The way oz_hcd_pd_arrived() looks now it's easy to think we free "ep" but
actually we do this spaghetti thing of setting it to NULL on success.

2. It is hard to read it because there are unlocks scattered throughout.

3. Currently we set "ep" to NULL on the success path and then test it and or
free it. In current code you have to scroll to the start of the function
to read code.

Minchan Kim a0c516cbfc zram: don't grab mutex in zram_slot_free_noity
[1] introduced down_write in zram_slot_free_notify to prevent race
between zram_slot_free_notify and zram_bvec_[read|write]. The race
could happen if somebody who has right permission to open swap device
is reading swap device while it is used by swap in parallel.

However, zram_slot_free_notify is called with holding spin_lock of
swap layer so we shouldn't avoid holing mutex. Otherwise, lockdep
warns it.

This patch adds new list to handle free slot and workqueue
so zram_slot_free_notify just registers slot index to be freed and
registers the request to workqueue. If workqueue is expired,
it holds mutex_lock so there is no problem any more.

If any I/O is issued, zram handles pending slot-free request
caused by zram_slot_free_notify right before handling issued
request because workqueue wouldn't be expired yet so zram I/O
request handling function can miss it.

Lastly, when zram is reset, flush_work could handle all of pending
free request so we shouldn't have memory leak.

NOTE: If zram_slot_free_notify's kmalloc with GFP_ATOMIC would be
failed, the slot will be freed when next write I/O write the slot.

in module exit path so that this patch introduces new argument
"reset_capacity" on zram_reset_divice and it only reset it when
reset_store is called.

Rupesh Gujare b2271b5bdf staging: ozwpan: Fix farewell report.
This patch fix following issues reported by Dan:-

1) There is no check limiting the size to 32 and it could be up to
   253 bytes.
2) Use defines instead of magic numbers.
3) The oz_farewell struct is supposed to be a variable length struct
but the variable part is put in the middle. It doesn't make any
sense to put the length of the variable size array after then end
of the array because we can never find it again! Put the
variable size array at the end. Make it a zero length array.
   u8 len;
   u8 report[0];
4) In oz_add_farewell() we do this:

	f = kmalloc(sizeof(struct oz_farewell) + len - 1, GFP_ATOMIC);

The "- 1" refers to sizeof(f->report) but because it was a magic
number then it was missed when the sizeof(f->report) changed.
5) In [patch 6/6] we set the ->len member. But because it is at the
end of a variable length array with no limit check the remote
attacker can just rewrite it using the memcpy() on the next line.

Greg Kroah-Hartman a083c4f215 First round of new IIO drivers, features and cleanups for the 3.12 cycle.
There has been a lot of good work going into IIO recently, some of which
missed this pull request purely because I haven't caught up with all my
 emails.

 Core changes

 1) Introduction of devm_iio_device_alloc/free and conversions of lots of
drivers (37 + patches so far mostly from Sachin)
 2) A Kconfig option to enabled some debug logging subsystem wide.

 New drivers

 1) Nuvoton NAU7802 adc driver
 2) Avago APDS9300 ambient light sensor driver.

 Staging graduations
 1) ADIS16260 gyroscope (after a lot fo cleaning up from Lars-Peter)

 New driver features

 1) ST-sensors gain control of which pin is used for dataready.
 2) mcp4725 gains eeprom saving (a later fix deals with a wrong return type
    bug in that patch)
 3) A number of drivers have gained module alias' to aid autoloading.

 Cleanups and minor bug fixes.

 1) A number of typos in Kconfig comments
 2) Drop remaining mentions of ring buffers (now just buffers)
 3) Overrestrictive i2c function checking in the invensense mpu6050 driver
 4) Some help text clarifications.
 5) store_eeprom is now used in several drivers so move to generic abi docs.
 6) Update dac power down options.
 7) Add some error handlign to mxs-lradc on stmp_reset_block call.
 8) Lars fixed the alphabetical order in various files and added comments
to try and prevent them getting messed up again.

Jonathan writes:

First round of new IIO drivers, features and cleanups for the 3.12 cycle.

9) Dropped some remaining 'reset' attributes for drivers. We have never
seen a reason why these should be available. Finally the macro
used to define many of these has gone.
10) lps331ap gets an easier to check temperature scale implementation.
11) Various cleanups for the hmc5843 from Peter with a view to getting
it ready for a staging graduation.

Quite a few other little typo fixes etc.

The adis16260 driver implements a unique feature in that it allows to change the
orientation of the gyroscope channel by specifying the orientation in platform
data. This feature is as far as I can see unused though and makes the driver
unnecessarily complex. So this patch removes the support for it. If it turns
out we need this, the cleanest approach to implement it is by adding support for
