FIMC-LITE subdevs have one sink pad and two source pads on which the image
formats are always same. This patch implements missing format propagation
from the sink pad to the source pads, to allow user space to negotiate TRY
format on whole media pipeline involving FIMC-LITE.n subdevs. The subdev
try_fmt helper is simplified.

This patch changes the firmware file names of the FIMC-IS subsystem.
It is needed since there are different firmwares used across various
SoC series, e.g. Exynos4 and Exynos5.
Also the sensor specific "setfile" name is changed, to account for
it depends on an image sensor and is also specific to the FIMC-IS
and the SoC.
This is a change for a driver merged in 3.10.

Add compatible property for the Exynos5250 and enable the frame start
and frame end interrupts. These interrupts are needed for the Exynos5
FIMC-IS firmware. The driver enables those interrupt only where available,
depending on the 'compatible' property. This can be optimized further,
by exposing some API at the subdev driver, so the host driver can enable
extra interrupts only for the image processing chains involving FIMC-IS.

This patch adds support for the Exynos5250 SoC variant of the FIMC-LITE
IP. A 'compatible' string is added for Exynos5250 compatible devices
and the capture DMA handling is reworked to use the FLITE_REG_CIFCNTSEQ
register, masking output DMA buffer address slots. The frame interrupt
is enabled so there are now 2 interrupts per frame. This likely can be
optimized in future by using any status registers that allow to figure
out what the last and the currently written frame buffer is. It would
also be more reliable in cases where there are high interrupt service
latencies.

The m2m-deinterlace, mem2mem_testdev and mx2_emmaprp drivers didn't set
the v4l2_dev pointer in struct video_device, even though a v4l2_device was
registered correctly. These days this v4l2_dev pointer must be set correctly,
so this patch adds that for these three drivers.

Several functions in the sh_mobile_ceu_camera driver implement generic
algorithms and can be re-used by other V4L2 camera host drivers too. These
functions attempt to optimise scaling and cropping functions of the
subdevice, e.g. a camera sensor. This patch makes those functions generic
for future re-use by other camera host drivers.

The current Makefile rules to build font support are messy and buggy.
Replace them by Kconfig rules:
- Introduce CONFIG_FONT_SUPPORT, which controls the building of all font
code,
- Select CONFIG_FONT_SUPPORT for all drivers that use fonts,
- Select CONFIG_FONT_8x16 for all drivers that default to the VGA8x16
font,
- Drop the bogus console dependency for CONFIG_VIDEO_VIVI,
- Always process drivers/video/console/Makefile, as some drivers need
fonts even if CONFIG_VT is not set.

Add support for asynchronous subdevice probing, using the v4l2-async API.
The legacy synchronous mode is still supported too, which allows to
gradually update drivers and platforms. The selected approach adds a
notifier for each struct soc_camera_device instance, i.e. for each video
device node, even when there are multiple such instances registered with a
single soc-camera host simultaneously.

All existing soc-camera host drivers use .clock_start() and .clock_stop()
callbacks to activate and deactivate their camera interfaces, whereas
.add() and .remove() callbacks are usually dummy. Make the former two
compulsory and the latter two optional.

When adding and removing a client, the sh-mobile-ceu-camera driver activates
and, respectively, deactivates its camera interface and, if necessary, the
CSI2 controller. Only handling of the CSI2 interface is client-specific and
is only needed, when a data-exchange with the client is taking place. Move
the rest to .clock_start() and .clock_stop() callbacks.

Currently soc-camera uses a single camera host callback to activate the
interface master clock and to configure the interface for a specific
client. However, during probing we might not have the information about
a client, we just need to activate the clock. Add new camera host driver
callbacks to only start and stop the clock without and client-specific
configuration.

The parent field will eventually disappear to be replaced by v4l2_dev.
soc_camera does provide a v4l2_device struct but did not point to it in
struct video_device. This is now fixed.
Now the video nodes can be found under the correct platform bus, and
the advanced debug ioctls work correctly as well (the core implementation
of those ioctls requires that v4l2_dev is set correctly).

The $obj-m/$obj-y vars should be adding new modules to build, not
overriding it. So, it should never use
$obj-y := foo.o
instead, it should use:

Failing to do that is very bad, as it will suppress needed modules.

The ISP clock register content is not preserved over the ISP power domain
off/on cycle. Instead of setting the clock frequencies once at probe time
the clock rates set up is moved to the runtime_resume handler, which is

The use of current_norm is deprecated, so remove it. This driver actually
already implements g_std, which overrides current_norm, but the 'std' field
was never initialized correctly. This has been fixed as well.

The current_norm field is deprecated, so don't set it. Since it is set to
V4L2_STD_UNKNOWN which is 0 it didn't do anything anyway.

This patch corrects the link_notify handler to support more complex
pipelines, including fimc-lite and fimc-is entities.
After the FIMC-IS driver addition the assumptions made in the link_notify
callback are no longer valid, e.g. the link between fimc-lite subdev and
its video node is not immutable any more and there is more subdevs than
just sensor, MIPI-CSIS and FIMC(-LITE).
The graph is now walked and for each video node found a media pipeline
which ends at this node is disabled/enabled (the subdevs are powered
on/off).

Currently the media device link_notify callback is invoked before the
actual change of state of a link when the link is being enabled, and
after the actual change of state when the link is being disabled.
This doesn't allow a media device driver to perform any operations
on a full graph before a link is disabled, as well as performing
any tasks on a modified graph right after a link's state is changed.
This patch modifies signature of the link_notify callback. This
callback is now called always before and after a link's state change.
To distinguish the notifications a 'notification' argument is added
to the link_notify callback: MEDIA_DEV_NOTIFY_PRE_LINK_CH indicates
notification before link's state change and
MEDIA_DEV_NOTIFY_POST_LINK_CH corresponds to a notification after
link flags change.

Protect the fimc/fimc-lite video nodes unregistration with their video
lock. This prevents a kernel crash when e.g. udev opens a video node
right after the driver registers it and then the driver tries to
unregister it and defers its probing. Using video_is_unregistered()
together with the video mutex allows safe unregistration of the video
nodes at any time.

Remove driver private video node reference counters and use entity->use_count
instead. This makes the video pipelines power handling more similar to the
method used in omap3isp driver.
Now the graph mutex is taken always after the video mutex, as it is not
possible to ensure apposite order at the all modules.

This patch moves the code for inheriting subdev v4l2 controls on the
FIMC video capture nodes from open()/close() fops to the link setup
notification callback. This allows for the state of the FIMC controls
to be always kept, in opposite to the current situation when it is
lost when last process closes video device.
There is no visible change for the original V4L2 compliant interface.
For the MC aware applications (user_subdev_api == true) inheriting
of the controls is dropped, since there can be same controls on the
subdevs withing single pipeline, now when the ISP (FIMC-IS) is also
used.
This patch is a prerequisite to allow /dev/video device to be opened
without errors even if there is no media links connecting it to an
image source (sensor) subdev. This is required for a libv4l2 plugin
to be initialized while a video node is opened and it also should be
possible to always open the device to query the capabilities.

Fix to return a negative error code in the vb2_dma_contig_init_ctx()
error handling case instead of 0, as done elsewhere in this function.

When the OMAP3 ISP driver is compiled in the kernel the device can be
probed before the corresponding IOMMU is available. Defer the probe in

in soc_camera_close(), if ici->ops->remove() removes device firstly,
and then call __soc_camera_power_off(), it has logic error. Since
if remove device, it should disable subdev clk. but in __soc_camera_
power_off(), it will callback v4l2 s_power function which will
read/write subdev registers to control power by i2c. and then
i2c read/write will fail because of clk disable.
So suggest to re-sequence two functions call.

In the sh_veu driver, only the interrupt handler 'sh_veu_bh'
can invoke the v4l2_m2m_job_finish() function.
So the hardware must be alive for handling interrupts
until returning from v4l2_m2m_ctx_release().

ongoing job has been aborted since v4l2_m2m_ctx_release() which

The "sysreg" clock is required by multiple subsystems and none of the
other drivers handles this clock explicitly. It is currently assumed
that this clock is always on, left in its default state after system
reset.
Remove handling of this clock from the FIMC-IS driver to avoid breaking
other subsystems.

Use clk_prepare_enable/clk_unprepare_disable instead of preparing the
clocks during the driver initalization and then using just clk_disable/
clk_enable. The clock framework doesn't guarantee a clock will not get
enabled during e.g. clk_set_parent if clk_prepare has been called on it.
So we ensure clk_prepare() is called only when it is safe to enable
the clocks, i.e. the parent clocks and the clocks' frequencies are set.
It must be ensured the FIMC-IS clocks have proper frequencies before they
are enabled, otherwise the whole system will hang.

If we just declare the job finished here while the CODA is still
running, the call to v4l2_m2m_ctx_release in coda_release, which
is supposed to wait for a running job to finish, will return
immediately and free memory that the CODA is still using.
Just set the 'aborting' flag and let coda_irq_handler deal with it.

Not only do we need to wait for job completion when we want to
call a command on the CODA in start/stop_streaming, we also need
to make sure that a new job doesn't start before the command
finished.
Use a mutex to lock the coda command handling. On timeout, the
device_run job must be marked as finished and the mutex released,
as otherwise coda_release will block.

This patch adds a list of supported codecs per device type which is used to
determine the allowed pixel formats and maximum frame sizes depending on the
possible codecs. It allows frame sizes larger than 720 x 576 on CODA7 and adds
support for the YVU420 (planar YUV 4:2:0 with switched Cb and Cr) format.
Other uncompressed formats that could be added in the future are the chroma
interleaved NV12 and NV21 formats and the multiplanar variants YUV420M,
YVU420M, NV12M, and NV21M.
Further, rawstreamon is renamed to streamon_out and compstreamon is renamed
to streamon_cap in preparation for decoding support. The maximum encoded
frame buffer size is increased to 1 MiB.
Instead of tracking inst_type and codec across S_FMT calls, set the codec
and inst_type in start_streaming.

Callback .start_streaming is called once for every queue,
so v4l2_ctrl_handler_setup was called twice during stream start.
Moving v4l2_ctrl_handler_setup to context initialization
reduces numbers of calls and seems to be more consistent with API.

MFC uses two clocks - MFC gate clock and special clock
which is named as "sclk_mfc" in exynos4 and "aclk_333" in
exynos5 SoC. The driver was doing just a clk_prepare on
this special clock without a clk_enable call. As this
sclk is the parent of gate clock, it gets prepared and
enabled along with the gate clock. So there is no need
for the driver to use this sclk. This patch removes the
sclk usage from driver.

MFC v6 needs minimum number of output buffers to be queued
for encoder depending on the stream type and profile.
The patch modifies the driver so that encoding cannot be
started with lesser number of OUTPUT buffers than required.
This also fixes the crash happeninig during multi instance
encoder-decoder simultaneous run due to memory allocation
happening from interrupt context.

When booting with DT, there's a crash when omapfb is probed. This is
caused by the fact that omapdss+DT is not yet supported, and thus
omapdss is not probed at all. On the other hand, omapfb is always
probed. When omapfb tries to use omapdss, there's a NULL pointer
dereference crash. The same error should most likely happen with omapdrm
and omap_vout also.
To fix this, add an "initialized" state to omapdss. When omapdss has
been probed, it's marked as initialized. omapfb, omapdrm and omap_vout
check this state when they are probed to see that omapdss is actually
there.

For NV12 format, even if display data is single image,
both VIDWIN0 and VIDWIN1 parameters must be used. The start
address of Y data plane and C data plane is configured in
VIDEOWIN0ADH/L and VIDEOWIN1ADH/L respectively.
cuurently only one layer was requested, which is suffice
for yuv422, but for yuv420(NV12) two layers are required and
fix the same by requesting for other layer if pix fmt is NV12
during set_fmt.

While testing v4l2-ctl I noticed that this m2m driver didn't set timestamp_type
and that it spammed the kernel log with debug messages. Set timestamp_type
correctly and add debug module option to enable debug messages.

Ensure TRY format is propagated from the sink to source pad.
The format at both pads is always same so the TRY format buffer
for pad 0 is used to hold format for both pads.
While at it remove redundant fmt->pad checking.

Originally struct v4l2_capability driver and card name was filled
with name of the platform device. After switching to the device tree
the device names have changed and now are 4 different driver names
reported, depending on the video device opened. So instead of e.g.
"exynos4-fimc" there is now one of: 11800000.fimc, 11810000.fimc,
11820000.fimc, 11830000.fimc.
Fix this by using dev->driver_name, rather than platform device name.
A common vidioc_querycap function is created for both M2M and capture
video node.
This fixes any breakage at user space should any application/library
rely on the driver's name.

Due to hardware dependencies (clocks/power domain) the I2C bus
controller needs to be unregistered before fimc-is.

Currently there is unbalanced module_put() on the s5p-csis module
which prevents it from being unloaded. The subdev's owner module
has reference count decremented in v4l2_device_unregister_subdev()
so just remove this erroneous call.

The FIMC-LITE.n subdevs have currently sd->owner field not set,
the exynos-fimc-lite module can be removed at any time, regardless
it is in use by other modules. When this module is unloaded the
kernel can crash easily by accessing video or media device nodes.

It's an I2C client driver and it must not overwrite the struct v4l2_subdev
dev_priv field, which is used by the v4l2 core to store a pointer to
struct i2c_client.

Remove regulator_bulk_free() calls as devm_regulator_bulk_get() function
is used to get the regulators so those will be freed automatically while
the driver is removed.
Missing gpio free is fixed by requesting a gpio with the devm_* API.
All that is done now in the I2C client driver remove() callback is the
media entity cleanup call.

The default format conversion table mbus_fmt[] in soc_mediabus.c lists
"natural" conversions between media-bus and fourcc pixel formats, that are
achieved by storing data from the bus in RAM exactly as it arrives, only
possibly padding missing high or low bits. Such data acquisition mode
cannot change data endianness, therefore two locations with opposite
endianness are erroneous. This change might affest the omap1-camera driver,
existing configurations should be verified.

The vpss clocks were enabled by calling a exported function from a driver
in a machine code. calling driver code from platform code is incorrect way.
This patch fixes this issue and calls the function from driver code itself.

By default the VPSS clocks were enabled in capture driver
for davinci family which creates duplicates for dm355/dm365/dm644x.
This patch adds support to enable the VPSS clocks in VPSS driver,
which avoids duplication of code and also adding clock aliases.
This patch uses PM runtime API to enable/disable clock, instead
of DaVinci clock framework. con_ids for master and slave clocks of
vpss is added in pm_domain.
This patch cleanups the VPSS clock enabling in the capture driver,
and also removes the clock alias in machine file. Along side adds
a vpss slave clock for DM365 as mentioned by Sekhar
(https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/1221261/).
The Suspend/Resume in dm644x_ccdc.c which enabled/disabled the VPSS clock
is now implemented as part of the VPSS driver.

drivers/media/platform/davinci/Kconfig uses selects where
it should be using 'depends on'. This results in warnings of
the following sort when doing randconfig builds.
warning: (VIDEO_DM6446_CCDC && VIDEO_DM355_CCDC && VIDEO_ISIF && VIDEO_DAVINCI_VPBE_DISPLAY) selects VIDEO_VPSS_SYSTEM which has unmet direct dependencies (MEDIA_SUPPORT && V4L_PLATFORM_DRIVERS && ARCH_DAVINCI)
The VPIF kconfigs had a strange 'select' and 'depends on' cross
linkage which have been fixed as well by removing unneeded
VIDEO_DAVINCI_VPIF config symbol.
Similarly, remove the unnecessary VIDEO_VPSS_SYSTEM and
VIDEO_VPFE_CAPTURE. They don't select any independent functionality
and were being used to manage code dependencies which can
be handled using makefile.
Selecting video modules is now dependent on all ARCH_DAVINCI
instead of specific EVMs and SoCs earlier. This should help build
coverage. Remove unnecessary 'default y' for some config symbols.
While at it, fix the Kconfig help text to make it more readable
and fix names of modules created during module build.
Rename VIDEO_ISIF to VIDEO_DM365_ISIF as per suggestion from
Prabhakar.
This patch has only been build tested; I have tried to not break
any existing assumptions. I do not have the setup to test video,
so any test reports welcome.

There is no need to check same bit before setting it, since we
always end up with a bit set. Remove some of the tests and make
set unconditional, in every place where all that needs to be done
is just setting a bit.

Make the sensor subdevs host_data hold a pointer to struct fimc_source_info,
which is defined in the driver's public header, rather than a pointer to
struct fimc_sensor_info which is specific to exynos4-is media device driver.
The purpose of this change is to allow easier reuse of the fimc-lite module
in the exynos5-is driver, which should similarly store a pointer to struct
fimc_source_info instance in the sensor's subdev host_data.

Get the sensor subdev by walking media graph in both cases: when the
device is used as a subdev only and through video node. This allows
to not dereference the pipeline->subdevs[] array and makes the module
more generic and easier to re-use in other media driver.
