Samuel Ortiz a7c98ce25c mfd: Use mfd cell platform_data for tps6105x cells platform bits
With the addition of a platform device mfd_cell pointer, MFD drivers
can go back to passing platform data back to their sub drivers.
This allows for an mfd_cell->mfd_data removal and thus keep the
sub drivers MFD agnostic. This is mostly needed for non MFD aware
sub drivers.

MyungJoo Ham 7a32b589a9 Regulator: add suspend-finish API for regulator core.
The regulator core had suspend-prepare that turns off the regulators
when entering a system-wide suspend. However, it did not have
suspend-finish that pairs with suspend-prepare and the regulator core
has assumed that the regulator devices and their drivers support
autonomous recover at resume.

This patch adds regulator_suspend_finish that pairs with the
previously-existed regulator_suspend_prepare. The function
regulator_suspend_finish turns on the regulators that have always_on set
or positive use_count so that we can reset the regulator states
appropriately at resume.

In regulator_suspend_finish, if has_full_constraints, it disables
unnecessary regulators.

MyungJoo Ham bd6ca2cf50 regulator: MAX8997/8966 support
This patch supports PMIC/Regulator part of MAX8997/MAX8966 MFD.
In this initial release, selecting voltages or current-limit
and switching on/off the regulators are supported.

Controlling voltages for DVS with GPIOs is not implemented fully
and requires more considerations: it controls multiple bucks (selection
of 1, 2, and 5) at the same time with SET1~3 gpios. Thus, when DVS-GPIO
is activated, we lose the ability to control the voltage of a single
buck regulator independently; i.e., contolling a buck affects other two
bucks. Therefore, using the conventional regulator framework directly
might be problematic. However, in this driver, we try to choose
a setting without such side effect of affecting other regulators and
then try to choose a setting with the minimum side effect (the sum of
voltage changes in other regulators).

On the other hand, controlling all the three bucks simultenously based
on the voltage set table may help build cpufreq and similar system
more robust; i.e., all the three voltages are consistent every time
without glitches during transition.

Note that mfd-core no longer makes a copy of platform_data, but the

MyungJoo Ham 337ce5d1c5 mfd: Support LP3974 RTC
The first releases of LP3974 have a large delay in RTC registers,
which requires 2 seconds of delay after writing to a rtc register
(recommended by National Semiconductor's engineers)
before reading it.

If "rtc_delay" field of the platform data is true, the rtc driver
assumes that such delays are required. Although we have not seen
LP3974s without requiring such delays, we assume that such LP3974s
will be released soon (or they have done so already) and they are
supported by "lp3974" without setting "rtc_delay" at the platform
data.

This patch adds delays with msleep when writing values to RTC registers
if the platform data has rtc_delay set.

Mark Brown e8eef82b2c regulator: Provide a selector based set_voltage_sel() operation
Many regulator drivers implement voltage setting by looping through a
table of possible values, normally because the set of available voltages
can't be mapped onto selectors with simple calcuation. Factor out these
loops by providing a variant of set_voltage() which takes a selector rather
than a voltage range as an argument and implementing a loop through the
available selectors in the core.

This is not going to be suitable for use with all devices as when the
regulator voltage can be mapped onto selector values with a simple
calculation the linear scan through the available values will be more
expensive than just doing the calculation, especially for regulators

Mark Brown f8c12fe329 regulator: Copy constraints from regulators when initialising them
Currently the regulator API uses the constraints structure passed in to
the core throughout the lifetime of the object. This means that it is not
possible to mark the constraints as __initdata so if the kernel supports
many boards the constraints for all of them are kept around throughout the
lifetime of the system, consuming memory needlessly. By copying constraints
that are actually used we allow the use of __initdata, saving memory when
multiple boards are supported.

This also means the constraints can be const.

Mark Brown 02fa3ec01a regulator: Add basic trace facilities
Provide some basic trace facilities to the regulator API. We generate
events on regulator enable, disable and voltage setting over the actual
hardware operations (which are assumed to be the expensive ones which
require interaction with the actual device). This is intended to facilitate
debug of the performance and behaviour with consumers allowing unified
traces to be generated including the regulator operations within the
context of the other components of the system.

For enable we log the explicit delay for the voltage ramp separately to
the interaction with the hardware to highlight the time consumed in I/O.
We should add a similar delay for voltage changes, though there the
relatively small magnitude of the changes in the context of the I/O
costs makes it much less critical for most regulators.

Only hardware interactions are currently traced as the primary focus is
on the performance and synchronisation of actual hardware interactions.
Additional tracepoints for debugging of the logical operations can be
added later if required.

Jeffrey Carlyle 8cbf811dfd regulator: avoid deadlock when disabling regulator with supply
I have a regulator A that sets regulator B as its supply. When I call
set_supply to add B as the supply for A, regulator A gets added to the
supply_list for regulator B.

When I call regulator_disable(A), I end up with a call chain like this:

regulator_disable(A)
> mutex_lock(A)
> _regulator_disable(A)
>> _regulator_disable(B)
>>> _notifier_call_chain(B)
>>>> mutex_lock(A)

Which results in dead lock since we are trying to acquire the mutex lock
for regulator A which we already hold.

This patch addresses this issue by moving the call to disable regulator
B outside of the lock aquired inside the initial call to
regulator_disable.

This change also addresses the issue of not acquiring the mutex for
regulator B before calling _regulator_disable(B).

MyungJoo Ham 202f4f53e5 MAX8952 PMIC Driver Initial Release
MAX8952 PMIC is used to provide voltage output between 770mV - 1400mV
with DVS support. In this initial release, users can set voltages for
four DVS modes, RAMP delay values, and SYNC frequency.
Controlling FPWM/SYNC_MODE/Pull-Down/Ramp Modes and reading CHIP_ID
is not supported in this release.

If GPIO of EN is not valid in platform data, the driver assumes that it
is always-on. If GPIO of VID0 or VID1 is invalid, the driver pulls down
VID0 and VID1 to fix DVS mode as 0 and disables DVS support.

We assume that V_OUT is capable to provide every voltage from 770mV to
1.40V in 10mV steps although the data sheet has some ambiguity on it.

Axel Lin e260999c66 regulator: wm831x-ldo - fix the logic to set REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE and REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY modes
Problem description in current implementation:
When setting REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE mode, current implementation set
WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit of ctrl_reg (which is wrong, it should clear the bit).
But due to a missing break statement for case REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE, the code
fall through to case REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY and then clear
WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit. So it still looks OK when checking the status
by wm831x_gp_ldo_get_mode().

When setting REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY mode, it just does not work.
wm831x_gp_ldo_get_mode() will still return REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE because
the accordingly WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit is clear.

Correct behavior should be:
Clear WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit of ctrl_reg for REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE mode.
Set WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit of ctrl_reg for REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY mode.

This patch fixes the memory leak by passing max660 to i2c clientdata,

MyungJoo Ham c5a4655db9 regulator: MAX8998: set_voltage bugfix. ramp_up delay and min/max voltage
Two issues are addressed for max8998_set_voltage function.

1. Min/Max Voltage.

max8998_set_voltage had been using the voltage value of

	min ( voltage[i] >= max_vol , i )

	This is corrected to use:

	min ( voltage[i] >= min_vol , i )

2. Ramp Up Delay.

max8998_set_voltage should provide delay for BUCK1/2
if ENRAMP is on. It reads RAMP value from ONOFF4 register to determine
RAMP delay length. However, when max8998_set_voltage's new voltage is
lower than the previous, we don't care because it does not deteriorate
the stability.

Anuj Aggarwal 7d14831e21 regulator: tps6507x: allow driver to use DEFDCDC{2,3}_HIGH register
Acked-by: Mark Brown <broonie@opensource.wolfsonmicro.com>

In TPS6507x, depending on the status of DEFDCDC{2,3} pin either
DEFDCDC{2,3}_LOW or DEFDCDC{2,3}_HIGH register needs to be read or
programmed to change the output voltage.

The current driver assumes DEFDCDC{2,3} pins are always tied low
and thus operates only on DEFDCDC{2,3}_LOW register. This need
not always be the case (as is found on OMAP-L138 EVM).

Unfortunately, software cannot read the status of DEFDCDC{2,3} pins.
So, this information is passed through platform data depending on
how the board is wired.

Wolfram Sang fbae3fb154 i2c: Remove all i2c_set_clientdata(client, NULL) in drivers
I2C drivers can use the clientdata-pointer to point to private data. As I2C
devices are not really unregistered, but merely detached from their driver, it
used to be the drivers obligation to clear this pointer during remove() or a
failed probe(). As a couple of drivers forgot to do this, it was agreed that it
was cleaner if the i2c-core does this clearance when appropriate, as there is
no guarantee for the lifetime of the clientdata-pointer after remove() anyhow.
This feature was added to the core with commit
e4a7b9b04d to fix the faulty drivers.

As there is no need anymore to clear the clientdata-pointer, remove all current
occurrences in the drivers to simplify the code and prevent confusion.

Mattias Wallin fa661258a2 mfd: AB3100 register access change to abx500 API
The interface for the AB3100 is changed to make way for the
ABX500 family of chips: AB3550, AB5500 and future ST-Ericsson
Analog Baseband chips. The register access functions are moved
out to a separate struct abx500_ops. In this way the interface
is moved from the implementation and the sub functionality drivers
can keep their interface intact when chip infrastructure and
communication mechanisms changes. We also define the AB3550
device IDs and the AB3550 platform data struct and convert
the catenated 32bit event to an array of 3 x 8bits.
