Pull block IO driver bits from Jens Axboe:
"As I mentioned in the core block pull request, due to real life
circumstances the driver pull request would be late. Now it looks
like -rc2 late... On the plus side, apart form the rsxx update, these
are all things that I could argue could go in later in the cycle as
they are fixes and not features. So even though things are late, it's
not ALL bad.
The pull request contains:
- Updates to bcache, all bug fixes, from Kent.
- A pile of drbd bug fixes (no big features this time!).
- xen blk front/back fixes.
- rsxx driver updates, some of them deferred form 3.10. So should be
well cooked by now"

Using #include <include/...> is a bit odd. It happens to work because the DTC
flags include -Iarch/FOO/boot/dts as well as arch/FOO/boot/dts/include and
arch/FOO/boot/dts/include/dt-bindings is a symlink to include/dt-bindings.

Pull ACPI video support fixes from Rafael Wysocki:
"I'm sending a separate pull request for this as it may be somewhat
controversial. The breakage addressed here is not really new and the
fixes may not satisfy all users of the affected systems, but we've had
so much back and forth dance in this area over the last several weeks
that I think it's time to actually make some progress.
The source of the problem is that about a year ago we started to tell
BIOSes that we're compatible with Windows 8, which we really need to
do, because some systems shipping with Windows 8 are tested with it
and nothing else, so if we tell their BIOSes that we aren't compatible
with Windows 8, we expose our users to untested BIOS/AML code paths.
However, as it turns out, some Windows 8-specific AML code paths are
not tested either, because Windows 8 actually doesn't use the ACPI
methods containing them, so if we declare Windows 8 compatibility and
attempt to use those ACPI methods, things break. That occurs mostly
in the backlight support area where in particular the _BCM and _BQC
methods are plain unusable on some systems if the OS declares Windows
8 compatibility.
[ The additional twist is that they actually become usable if the OS
says it is not compatible with Windows 8, but that may cause
problems to show up elsewhere ]
Investigation carried out by Matthew Garrett indicates that what
Windows 8 does about backlight is to leave backlight control up to
individual graphics drivers. At least there's evidence that it does
that if the Intel graphics driver is used, so we've decided to follow
Windows 8 in that respect and allow i915 to control backlight (Daniel
likes that part).
The first commit from Aaron Lu makes ACPICA export the variable from
which we can infer whether or not the BIOS believes that we are
compatible with Windows 8.
The second commit from Matthew Garrett prepares the ACPI video driver
by making it initialize the ACPI backlight even if it is not going to
be used afterward (that is needed for backlight control to work on
Thinkpads).
The third commit implements the actual workaround making i915 take
over backlight control if the firmware thinks it's dealing with
Windows 8 and is based on the work of multiple developers, including
Matthew Garrett, Chun-Yi Lee, Seth Forshee, and Aaron Lu.
The final commit from Aaron Lu makes us follow Windows 8 by informing
the firmware through the _DOS method that it should not carry out
automatic brightness changes, so that brightness can be controlled by
GUI.
Hopefully, this approach will allow us to avoid using blacklists of
systems that should not declare Windows 8 compatibility just to avoid
backlight control problems in the future.

Here are a few iio driver fixes for 3.11-rc2. They are still spread
across drivers/iio and drivers/staging/iio so they are coming in through
this tree.
I've also removed the drivers/staging/csr/ driver as the developers who
originally sent it to me have moved on to other companies, and CSR still
will not send us the specs for the device, making the driver pretty much
obsolete and impossible to fix up. Deleting it now prevents people from
sending in lots of tiny codingsyle fixes that will never go anywhere.

When using more than one trigger consumer it can happen that multiple threads
perform a read-modify-update cycle on 'use_count' concurrently. This can cause
updates to be lost and use_count can get stuck at non-zero value, in which case
the IIO core assumes that at least one thread is still running and will wait for
it to finish before running any trigger handlers again. This effectively renders
the trigger disabled and a reboot is necessary before it can be used again. To
fix this make use_count an atomic variable. Also set it to the number of
consumers before starting the first consumer, otherwise it might happen that
use_count drops to 0 even though not all consumers have been run yet.

The ARM OABI and EABI disagree on the alignment of structures
with small members, so module init tools may interpret the
ssb device table incorrectly, as shown by this warning when
building the b43 device driver in an OABI kernel:
FATAL: drivers/net/wireless/b43/b43: sizeof(struct ssb_device_id)=6 is
not a modulo of the size of section __mod_ssb_device_table=88.
Forcing the default (EABI) alignment on the structure makes this
problem go away. Since the ssb_device_id may have the same problem,
better fix both structures.

In commit 48cc32d38a
("vlan: don't deliver frames for unknown vlans to protocols")
Florian made sure we set pkt_type to PACKET_OTHERHOST
if the vlan id is set and we could find a vlan device for this
particular id.
But we also have a problem if prio bits are set.
Steinar reported an issue on a router receiving IPv6 frames with a
vlan tag of 4000 (id 0, prio 2), and tunneled into a sit device,
because skb->vlan_tci is set.
Forwarded frame is completely corrupted : We can see (8100:4000)
being inserted in the middle of IPv6 source address :
16:48:00.780413 IP6 2001:16d8:8100:4000:ee1c:0:9d9:bc87 >

0x0030: 2425 2627 2829 2a2b 2c2d 2e2f 3031 3233
It seems we are not really ready to properly cope with this right now.
We can probably do better in future kernels :
vlan_get_ingress_priority() should be a netdev property instead of
a per vlan_dev one.
For stable kernels, lets clear vlan_tci to fix the bugs.

Here are some driver core patches for 3.11-rc2. They aren't really
bugfixes, but a bunch of new helper macros for drivers to properly
create attribute groups, which drivers and subsystems need to fix up a
ton of race issues with incorrectly creating sysfs files (binary and
normal) after userspace has been told that the device is present.
Also here is the ability to create binary files as attribute groups, to
solve that race condition, which was impossible to do before this, so
that's my fault the drivers were broken.
The majority of the .c changes is indenting and moving code around a
bit. It affects no existing code, but allows the large backlog of 70+
patches that I already have created to start flowing into the different
subtrees, instead of having to live in my driver-core tree, causing
merge nightmares in linux-next for the next few months.
These were finalized too late for the -rc1 merge window, which is why
they were didn't make that pull request, testing and review from others

Pull phase two of __cpuinit removal from Paul Gortmaker:
"With the __cpuinit infrastructure removed earlier, this group of
commits only removes the function/data tagging that was done with the
various (now no-op) __cpuinit related prefixes.
Now that the dust has settled with yesterday's v3.11-rc1, there
hopefully shouldn't be any new users leaking back in tree, but I think
we can leave the harmless no-op stubs there for a release as a
courtesy to those who still have out of tree stuff and weren't paying
attention.
Although the commits are against the recent tag to allow for minor
context refreshes for things like yesterday's v3.11-rc1~ slab content,
the patches have been largely unchanged for weeks, aside from such
trivial updates.
For detail junkies, the largely boring and mostly irrelevant history
of the patches can be viewed at:
http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/paulg/cpuinit-delete.git
If nothing else, I guess it does at least demonstrate the level of
involvement required to shepherd such a treewide change to completion.
This is the same repository of patches that has been applied to the
end of the daily linux-next branches for the past several weeks"

According to Matthew Garrett, "Windows 8 leaves backlight control up
to individual graphics drivers rather than making ACPI calls itself.
There's plenty of evidence to suggest that the Intel driver for
Windows [8] doesn't use the ACPI interface, including the fact that
it's broken on a bunch of machines when the OS claims to support
Windows 8. The simplest thing to do appears to be to disable the
ACPI backlight interface on these systems".
There's a problem with that approach, however, because simply
avoiding to register the ACPI backlight interface if the firmware
calls _OSI for Windows 8 may not work in the following situations:
(1) The ACPI backlight interface actually works on the given system
and the i915 driver is not loaded (e.g. another graphics driver
is used).
(2) The ACPI backlight interface doesn't work on the given system,
but there is a vendor platform driver that will register its
own, equally broken, backlight interface if not prevented from
doing so by the ACPI subsystem.
Therefore we need to allow the ACPI backlight interface to be
registered until the i915 driver is loaded which then will unregister
it if the firmware has called _OSI for Windows 8 (or will register
the ACPI video driver without backlight support if not already
present).
For this reason, introduce an alternative function for registering
ACPI video, acpi_video_register_with_quirks(), that will check
whether or not the ACPI video driver has already been registered
and whether or not the backlight Windows 8 quirk has to be applied.
If the quirk has to be applied, it will block the ACPI backlight
support and either unregister the backlight interface if the ACPI
video driver has already been registered, or register the ACPI
video driver without the backlight interface otherwise. Make
the i915 driver use acpi_video_register_with_quirks() instead of
acpi_video_register() in i915_driver_load().
This change is based on earlier patches from Matthew Garrett,
Chun-Yi Lee and Seth Forshee and includes a fix from Aaron Lu's.

1) A long term bug in trigger handling gave a double free of the device.
2) Wrong return value handling means offsets are ignored in
iio_convert_raw_to_processed_unlocked.
3) The iio_channel_has_info utility function was incorrectly updated
during the recent info_mask split, this is now fixed.
4) mxs-lradc has a couple of little fixes.
5) A couple of missing .driver_module entries meant that drivers

6) Error path fixes for ad7303 and lis3l02dq.
7) The scale value for presure in the lps331ap driver was out by

__list_for_each used to be the non prefetch() aware list walking
primitive. When we removed the prefetch macros from the list routines,
it became redundant. Given it does exactly the same thing as
list_for_each now, we might as well remove it and call list_for_each
directly.
All users of __list_for_each have been converted to list_for_each calls
in the current merge window.

The USB_MAXCHILDREN symbol is used in include/uapi/linux/usb/ch11.h, a
user-mode header, even though it is defined in include/linux/usb.h,
which is kernel-only. This causes compile-time errors when user
programs try to #include linux/usb/ch11.h.

The fec/enet driver calculates MDC rate with the formula below.
ref_freq / ((MII_SPEED + 1) x 2)
The ref_freq here is the fec internal module clock, which is missing
from clk-vf610 clock driver right now. And clk-vf610 driver mistakenly
supplies RMII clock (50 MHz) as the source to fec. This results in the
situation that fec driver gets ref_freq as 50 MHz, while physically it
runs at 66 MHz (fec module clock physically sources from ipg which runs
at 66 MHz). That's why software expects MDC runs at 2.5 MHz, while the
measurement tells it runs at 3.3 MHz. And this causes the PHY KSZ8041
keeps swithing between Full and Half mode as below.

The __cpuinit type of throwaway sections might have made sense
some time ago when RAM was more constrained, but now the savings
do not offset the cost and complications. For example, the fix in
commit 5e427ec2d0 ("x86: Fix bit corruption at CPU resume time")
is a good example of the nasty type of bugs that can be created
with improper use of the various __init prefixes.
After a discussion on LKML[1] it was decided that cpuinit should go
the way of devinit and be phased out. Once all the users are gone,
we can then finally remove the macros themselves from linux/init.h.
This removes all the uses of the __cpuinit macros from C files in
the core kernel directories (kernel, init, lib, mm, and include)
that don't really have a specific maintainer.

llist_add(new, head) can simply use llist_add_batch(new, new, head),
no need to duplicate the code.
This obviously uninlines llist_add() and to me this is a win. But we
can make llist_add_batch() inline if this is desirable, in this case
gcc can notice that new_first == new_last if the caller is llist_add().

1. This is mostly theoretical, but llist_add*() need ACCESS_ONCE().
Otherwise it is not guaranteed that the first cmpxchg() uses the
same value for old_entry and new_last->next.
2. These helpers cache the result of cmpxchg() and read the initial
value of head->first before the main loop. I do not think this
makes sense. In the likely case cmpxchg() succeeds, otherwise
it doesn't hurt to reload head->first.
I think it would be better to simplify the code and simply read
->first before cmpxchg().

task_cgroup_path_from_hierarchy() was added for the planned new users
and none of the currently planned users wants to know about multiple
hierarchies. This patch drops the multiple hierarchy part and makes
it always return the path in the first non-dummy hierarchy.
As unified hierarchy will always have id 1, this is guaranteed to
return the path for the unified hierarchy if mounted; otherwise, it
will return the path from the hierarchy which happens to occupy the
lowest hierarchy id, which will usually be the first hierarchy mounted
after boot.

were added to 3.10, which includes several bug fixes that have been
marked for stable.
As for new features, there were a few, but nothing to write to LWN about.
These include:
New function trigger called "dump" and "cpudump" that will cause
ftrace to dump its buffer to the console when the function is called.
The difference between "dump" and "cpudump" is that "dump" will dump
the entire contents of the ftrace buffer, where as "cpudump" will only
dump the contents of the ftrace buffer for the CPU that called the function.
Another small enhancement is a new sysctl switch called "traceoff_on_warning"
which, when enabled, will disable tracing if any WARN_ON() is triggered.
This is useful if you want to debug what caused a warning and do not
want to risk losing your trace data by the ring buffer overwriting the
data before you can disable it. There's also a kernel command line
option that will make this enabled at boot up called the same thing.

zbud is an special purpose allocator for storing compressed pages. It
is designed to store up to two compressed pages per physical page.
While this design limits storage density, it has simple and
deterministic reclaim properties that make it preferable to a higher
density approach when reclaim will be used.
zbud works by storing compressed pages, or "zpages", together in pairs
in a single memory page called a "zbud page". The first buddy is "left
justifed" at the beginning of the zbud page, and the last buddy is
"right justified" at the end of the zbud page. The benefit is that if
either buddy is freed, the freed buddy space, coalesced with whatever
slack space that existed between the buddies, results in the largest
possible free region within the zbud page.
zbud also provides an attractive lower bound on density. The ratio of
zpages to zbud pages can not be less than 1. This ensures that zbud can
never "do harm" by using more pages to store zpages than the
uncompressed zpages would have used on their own.
This implementation is a rewrite of the zbud allocator internally used
by zcache in the driver/staging tree. The rewrite was necessary to
remove some of the zcache specific elements that were ingrained
throughout and provide a generic allocation interface that can later be
used by zsmalloc and others.
This patch adds zbud to mm/ for later use by zswap.

This patch removes "io_lock" and "map_lock" in struct mapped_device and
"holders" in struct dm_table and replaces these mechanisms with
sleepable-rcu.
Previously, the code would call "dm_get_live_table" and "dm_table_put" to
get and release table. Now, the code is changed to call "dm_get_live_table"
and "dm_put_live_table". dm_get_live_table locks sleepable-rcu and
dm_put_live_table unlocks it.
dm_get_live_table_fast/dm_put_live_table_fast can be used instead of
dm_get_live_table/dm_put_live_table. These *_fast functions use
non-sleepable RCU, so the caller must not block between them.
If the code changes active or inactive dm table, it must call
dm_sync_table before destroying the old table.

"This is a re-do of the net-next pull request for the current merge
window. The only difference from the one I made the other day is that
this has Eliezer's interface renames and the timeout handling changes
made based upon your feedback, as well as a few bug fixes that have
trickeled in.
Highlights:
1) Low latency device polling, eliminating the cost of interrupt
handling and context switches. Allows direct polling of a network
device from socket operations, such as recvmsg() and poll().
Currently ixgbe, mlx4, and bnx2x support this feature.
Full high level description, performance numbers, and design in
commit 0a4db187a9 ("Merge branch 'll_poll'")
From Eliezer Tamir.
2) With the routing cache removed, ip_check_mc_rcu() gets exercised
more than ever before in the case where we have lots of multicast
addresses. Use a hash table instead of a simple linked list, from
Eric Dumazet.
3) Add driver for Atheros CQA98xx 802.11ac wireless devices, from
Bartosz Markowski, Janusz Dziedzic, Kalle Valo, Marek Kwaczynski,
Marek Puzyniak, Michal Kazior, and Sujith Manoharan.
4) Support reporting the TUN device persist flag to userspace, from
Pavel Emelyanov.
5) Allow controlling network device VF link state using netlink, from
Rony Efraim.
6) Support GRE tunneling in openvswitch, from Pravin B Shelar.
7) Adjust SOCK_MIN_RCVBUF and SOCK_MIN_SNDBUF for modern times, from
Daniel Borkmann and Eric Dumazet.
8) Allow controlling of TCP quickack behavior on a per-route basis,
from Cong Wang.
9) Several bug fixes and improvements to vxlan from Stephen
Hemminger, Pravin B Shelar, and Mike Rapoport. In particular,
support receiving on multiple UDP ports.
10) Major cleanups, particular in the area of debugging and cookie
lifetime handline, to the SCTP protocol code. From Daniel
Borkmann.
11) Allow packets to cross network namespaces when traversing tunnel
devices. From Nicolas Dichtel.
12) Allow monitoring netlink traffic via AF_PACKET sockets, in a
manner akin to how we monitor real network traffic via ptype_all.
From Daniel Borkmann.
13) Several bug fixes and improvements for the new alx device driver,
from Johannes Berg.
14) Fix scalability issues in the netem packet scheduler's time queue,
by using an rbtree. From Eric Dumazet.
15) Several bug fixes in TCP loss recovery handling, from Yuchung
Cheng.
16) Add support for GSO segmentation of MPLS packets, from Simon
Horman.
17) Make network notifiers have a real data type for the opaque
pointer that's passed into them. Use this to properly handle
network device flag changes in arp_netdev_event(). From Jiri
Pirko and Timo Teräs.
18) Convert several drivers over to module_pci_driver(), from Peter
Huewe.
19) tcp_fixup_rcvbuf() can loop 500 times over loopback, just use a
O(1) calculation instead. From Eric Dumazet.
20) Support setting of explicit tunnel peer addresses in ipv6, just
like ipv4. From Nicolas Dichtel.
21) Protect x86 BPF JIT against spraying attacks, from Eric Dumazet.
22) Prevent a single high rate flow from overruning an individual cpu
during RX packet processing via selective flow shedding. From
Willem de Bruijn.
23) Don't use spinlocks in TCP md5 signing fast paths, from Eric
Dumazet.
24) Don't just drop GSO packets which are above the TBF scheduler's
burst limit, chop them up so they are in-bounds instead. Also
from Eric Dumazet.
25) VLAN offloads are missed when configured on top of a bridge, fix
from Vlad Yasevich.
26) Support IPV6 in ping sockets. From Lorenzo Colitti.
27) Receive flow steering targets should be updated at poll() time
too, from David Majnemer.
28) Fix several corner case regressions in PMTU/redirect handling due
to the routing cache removal, from Timo Teräs.
29) We have to be mindful of ipv4 mapped ipv6 sockets in
upd_v6_push_pending_frames(). From Hannes Frederic Sowa.
30) Fix L2TP sequence number handling bugs, from James Chapman."

cafe563591 ("bcache: A block layer cache") added a new cgroup
subsystem bcache_subsys without proper review and ack. bcache_subsys
seems to use cgroup for group stats and per-group cache_mode
configuration. This is very much the type of usage that we don't want
to allow.
Fortunately, CONFIG_CGROUP_BCACHE which enables bcache_subsys is
currently commented out, so this shouldn't have any upstream users.
Let's nip in the bud. While at it, clarify in cgroup_subsys.h that no
new subsystem should be added without explicit acks from cgroup
maintainers.

Outside drm:
There are some snd changes for the HDMI audio interactions on haswell,
they've been acked for inclusion via my tree. This relies on the

Major changes:
AMD finally released the dynamic power management code for all their

also a huge amount of code, in fact it is most of this pull request.

it.
As shown below, the size of data is a little bit bigger but compressing
speed is faster under the enabled unaligned memory access. We can use
lz4 de/compression through crypto API as well. Also, It will be useful
for another potential user of lz4 compression.
lz4 Compression Benchmark:
Compiler: ARM gcc 4.6.4

This patch:
Add support for LZ4 compression in the Linux Kernel. LZ4 Compression APIs

for kernel coding style.

Two APIs are added:
lz4_compress() support basic lz4 compression whereas lz4hc_compress()
support high compression or CPU performance get lower but compression
ratio get higher. Also, we require the pre-allocated working memory with
the defined size and destination buffer must be allocated with the size of
lz4_compressbound.

- Latest patch set for LZO applied
This patch set is for adding support for LZ4-compressed Kernel. LZ4 is a
very fast lossless compression algorithm and it also features an extremely
fast decoder [1].
But we have five of decompressors already and one question which does
arise, however, is that of where do we stop adding new ones? This issue
had been discussed and came to the conclusion [2].
Russell King said that we should have:
- one decompressor which is the fastest
- one decompressor for the highest compression ratio
- one popular decompressor (eg conventional gzip)
If we have a replacement one for one of these, then it should do exactly
that: replace it.
The benchmark shows that an 8% increase in image size vs a 66% increase
in decompression speed compared to LZO(which has been known as the
fastest decompressor in the Kernel). Therefore the "fast but may not be
small" compression title has clearly been taken by LZ4 [3].

sem_otime contains the time of the last semaphore operation that
completed successfully. Every operation updates this value, thus access
from multiple cpus can cause thrashing.
Therefore the patch replaces the variable with a per-semaphore variable.
The per-array sem_otime is only calculated when required.
No performance improvement on a single-socket i3 - only important for
larger systems.

Introduce separate queues for operations that do not modify the
semaphore values. Advantages:
- Simpler logic in check_restart().
- Faster update_queue(): Right now, all wait-for-zero operations are
always tested, even if the semaphore value is not 0.
- wait-for-zero gets again priority, as in linux <=3.0.9

This patch, originally from Android kernel, adds vfat ioctl command
FAT_IOCTL_GET_VOLUME_ID, with this command we can get the vfat volume ID
using following code:
ioctl(fd, FAT_IOCTL_GET_VOLUME_ID, &volume_ID)
This patch is a modified version of the patch by Mike Lockwood, with
changes from Dmitry Pervushin, who noticed the original patch makes some
volume IDs abiguous with error returns: for example, if volume id is
0xFFFFFDAD, that matches -ENOIOCTLCMD, we get "FFFFFFFF" from the user
space.
So add a parameter to ioctl to get the correct volume ID.
Android uses vfat volume ID to identify different sd card, when a new sd
card is inserted to device, android can scan the media on it and pop up
new contents.

VM_UNLIST was used to indicate that the vm_struct is not listed in
vmlist.
But after commit 4341fa4547 ("mm, vmalloc: remove list management of
vmlist after initializing vmalloc"), the meaning of this flag changed.
It now means the vm_struct is not fully initialized. So renaming it to
VM_UNINITIALIZED seems more reasonable.
Also change clear_vm_unlist to clear_vm_uninitialized_flag.

dev=00:0c mode=0100700 ouid=0 ogid=0 rdev=00:00
obj=staff_u:object_r:user_tmpfs_t:s15:c0.c1023
...with the audit related changes that went into 3.7, they now look like this:
type=PATH msg=audit(1366282236.776:3606): item=2 name=(null) inode=66655
dev=00:0c mode=0100700 ouid=0 ogid=0 rdev=00:00
obj=staff_u:object_r:user_tmpfs_t:s15:c0.c1023

dev=00:0c mode=041777 ouid=0 ogid=0 rdev=00:00
obj=system_u:object_r:tmpfs_t:s15:c0.c1023
type=PATH msg=audit(1366282236.776:3606): item=0 name="test_mq"
Both of these look wrong to me. As Steve Grubb pointed out:
"What we need is 1 PATH record that identifies the MQ. The other PATH
records probably should not be there."
Fix it to record the mq root as a parent, and flag it such that it
should be hidden from view when the names are logged, since the root of
the mq filesystem isn't terribly interesting. With this change, we get
a single PATH record that looks more like this:
type=PATH msg=audit(1368021604.836:484): item=0 name="test_mq" inode=16914
dev=00:0c mode=0100644 ouid=0 ogid=0 rdev=00:00
obj=unconfined_u:object_r:user_tmpfs_t:s0
In order to do this, a new audit_inode_parent_hidden() function is
added. If we do it this way, then we avoid having the existing callers
of audit_inode needing to do any sort of flag conversion if auditing is
inactive.

This partitioning resembles what we have for mlx4, except that mlx5_ib

mlx5_core is essentially a library that provides general functionality
that is intended to be used by other Mellanox devices that will be

The file_lock_list is only used for /proc/locks. The vastly common case
is for locks to be put onto the list and come off again, without ever
being traversed.
Help optimize for this use-case by moving to percpu hlist_head-s. At the
same time, we can make the locking less contentious by moving to an
lglock. When iterating over the lists for /proc/locks, we must take the
global lock and then iterate over each CPU's list in turn.
This change necessitates a new fl_link_cpu field to keep track of which
CPU the entry is on. On x86_64 at least, this field is placed within an
existing hole in the struct to avoid growing the size.

Continue the approach taken by commit d2b57063e4 ("IB/core: Reserve
bits in enum ib_qp_create_flags for low-level driver use") and add
reserved entries to the ib_qp_type and ib_wr_opcode enums. Low-level
drivers can then define macros to use these reserved values, giving
proper names to the macros for readability. Also add a range of
reserved flags to enum ib_send_flags.

At the moment, kmalloc() isn't even listed in the kernel API
documentation (DocBook/kernel-api.html after running "make htmldocs").
Another issue is that the documentation for kmalloc_node()
refers to kcalloc()'s documentation to describe its 'flags' parameter,
while kcalloc() refered to kmalloc()'s documentation, which doesn't exist!
This patch is a proposed fix for this. It also removes the documentation

The P2020 has a non-standard implementation of the SDHCI_HOST_CONTROL

then the function simply returns instead of writing to the register.

Up to commit 5d33b883a (clocksource: Always verify highres capability)
we had no sanity check when selecting a clocksource, which prevented
that a non highres capable clocksource is used when the system already
switched to highres/nohz mode.
The new sanity check works as Alex and Tim found out. It prevents the
TSC from being used. This happens because on x86 the boot process
looks like this:
tsc_start_freqency_validation(TSC);
clocksource_register(HPET);
clocksource_done_booting();
clocksource_select()
Selects HPET which is valid for high-res
switch_to_highres();
clocksource_register(TSC);
TSC is not selected, because it is not yet
flagged as VALID_HIGH_RES
clocksource_watchdog()
Validates TSC for highres, but that does not make TSC
the current clocksource.
Before the sanity check was added, we installed TSC unvalidated which
worked most of the time. If the TSC was really detected as unstable,
then the unstable logic removed it and installed HPET again.
The sanity check is correct and needed. So the watchdog needs to kick
a reselection of the clocksource, when it qualifies TSC as a valid
high res clocksource.
To solve this, we mark the clocksource which got the flag
CLOCK_SOURCE_VALID_FOR_HRES set by the watchdog with an new flag
CLOCK_SOURCE_RESELECT and trigger the watchdog thread. The watchdog
thread evaluates the flag and invokes clocksource_select() when set.
To avoid that the clocksource_done_booting() code, which is about to
install the first real clocksource anyway, needs to go through
clocksource_select and tick_oneshot_notify() pointlessly, split out
the clocksource_watchdog_kthread() list walk code and invoke the
select/notify only when called from clocksource_watchdog_kthread().
So clocksource_done_booting() can utilize the same splitout code
without the select/notify invocation and the clocksource_mutex
unlock/relock dance.

This patch adds Device Tree support to the shdma driver. No special DT
properties are used, only standard DMA DT bindings are implemented. Since
shdma controllers reside on SoCs, their configuration is SoC-specific and
shall be passed to the driver from the SoC platform data, using the
auxdata procedure.

DMA-cell content is a concatenation of several values. In order to keep this
stuff human readable, macros are introduced.
The values for the FIFO configuration are not the same as the ones used in the
configuration register in order to keep backward compatibility. Most devices
use the half FIFO configuration but USART ones have to use the ASAP
configuration. This parameter was not initially planed to be into the at91 dma
dt binding. The third cell will be used to store this parameter, it will
become a concatenation of the FIFO configuration and of the peripheral ID. In
order to keep backward compatibility i.e. FIFO configuration is equal to 0, we
have to perform a translation since the value to put in the register to set
half FIFO is 1.
