For am5536udc we have just simple coding style fixes. Nothing that has any
potential to cause any issues going forward.
With mv_udc, there's only one single change removing an unneeded NULL check.
at91_udc also only saw a single change this merge window, and that's only
removing a duplicated header.
The Renesas controller has a few more involved changes. Support for SUDMAC was
added, there's now a special handling of IRQ resources for when the IRQ line is
shared between Renesas controller and SUDMAC, we also had a bug fix where
Renesas controller would sleep in atomic context while doing DMA transfers from
a tasklet. There were also a set of minor cleanups.
The FSL UDC also had a scheduling in atomic context bug fix, but that's all.
Thanks to Sebastian, the dummy_hcd now works better than ever with support for
scatterlists and streams. Sebastian also added SuperSpeed descriptors to the
serial gadgets.
The highlight on this merge is the addition of a generic API for mapping and
unmapping usb_requests. This will avoid code duplication on all UDC controllers
and also kills all the defines for DMA_ADDR_INVALID which UDC controllers
sprinkled around. A few of the UDC controllers were already converted to use
this new API.

commit e562966dba added support for S4 to
the balloon driver. The freeze function did nothing to free the pages,
since reclaiming the pages from the host to immediately give them back
(if S4 was successful) seemed wasteful. Also, if S4 wasn't successful,
the guest would have to re-fill the balloon. On restore, the pages were
supposed to be marked freed and the free page counters were incremented
to reflect the balloon was totally deflated.
However, this wasn't done right. The pages that were earlier taken away
from the guest during a balloon inflation operation were just shown as
used pages after a successful restore from S4. Just a fancy way of
leaking lots of memory.
Instead of trying that, just leak the balloon on freeze and fill it on
restore/thaw paths. This works properly now. The optimisation to not
leak can be added later on after a bit of refactoring of the code.

ovl->enable/disable are meant to be synchronous so that they can handle
the configuration of fifo sizes. The current kernel doesn't configure
fifo sizes yet, and so the code doesn't need to block to function (from
omapdss driver's perspective).
However, for the users of omapdss a non-blocking ovl->disable is
confusing, because they don't know when the memory area is not used
any more.
Furthermore, when the fifo size configuration is added in the next merge
window, the change from non-blocking to blocking could cause side
effects to the users of omapdss. So by making the functions block
already will keep them behaving in the same manner.
And, while not the main purpose of this patch, this will also remove the
compile warning:

tg3_get_stats64() takes tp->lock when dealing with non-serdes bcm5700
and bcm5701 devices. However, functions that call tg3_halt() have
already acquired tp->lock. When tg3_get_stats64() is called in
tg3_halt(), deadlock will occur.
This patch fixes the problem by separating the stat gathering code into
a new tg3_get_nstats() function. tg3_get_stats64() is recoded to call
this function and take tp->lock. The code that takes tp->lock in
tg3_calc_crc_errors() has been removed. Function signatures have been
cleaned up too.

Nicolas Cavallari discovered that carl9170 has some
serious problems delivering data to sleeping stations.
It turns out that the driver was not honoring two
important flags (IEEE80211_TX_CTL_POLL_RESPONSE and
IEEE80211_TX_CTL_CLEAR_PS_FILT) which are set on
frames that should be sent although the receiving
station is still in powersave mode.

On Access Point mode, when transmitting a packet, if the destination
station is in powersave mode, we abort transmitting the packet to the
device queue, but we do not reclaim the allocated memory. Given enough
packets, we can go in a state where there is no packet on the device
queue, but we think the device has no memory left, so no packet gets
transmitted, connections breaks and the AP stops working.
This undo the allocation done in the TX path when the station is in
power-save mode.

Commit dcfb748422 ([WATCHDOG] fix book E watchdog to take
WDIOC_SETTIMEOUT arg in seconds) fixed SETTIMEOUT ioctl
to use seconds as a parameter instead of some hardware-specific
"period", but missed to apply similar changes to GETTIMEOUT,
so it still returns "period" value. Let's fix it!
Also, while at it, make SETTIMEOUT ioctl return real timeout
value as it should do according to the documentation.

This is the first cut at a driver for the Fintek F81232 USB to serial
single port converter. This provides the initial framework for the
device, and some data can move through it, but no line settings are
handled, so it's not that useful yet. It does give people a starting
place to work from.
Thank to Fintek for providing samples and specifications, without which,
this driver would have never been able to be written.

Now that Alan Stern has cleaned up the usb serial driver registration,
we have the ability to create a module_usb_serial_driver macro to make
things a bit simpler, like the other *_driver macros created.
But, as we need two functions here, we can't reuse the existing
module_driver() macro, so we need to roll our own.
Here's a patch implementing module_usb_serial_driver() and it converts
the pl2303 driver to use it, showing a nice cleanup.

US_BULK_FLAG_IN is defined as 1 and not used. The USB storage spec says
that bit 7 of flags within CBW defines the data direction. 1 is DATA-IN
(read from device) and 0 is the DATA-OUT. Bit 6 is obselete and bits 0-5
are reserved.
This patch redefines the unsued define US_BULK_FLAG_IN from 1 to 1 << 7
aka 0x80 and replaces the obvious users. In a following patch the
storage gadget will use it as well.

This moves the BOT data structures for CBW and CSW from drivers internal
header file to global include able file in include/.
The storage gadget is using the same name for CSW but a different for
CBW so I fix it up properly. The same goes for the ub driver and keucr
driver in staging.

Probe function of s3c2410 watchdog calls request_irq before initializing
required value (wdt_count). This incurs resetting watchdog counter value
and watchdog-reboot during booting up.
This patch addresses such an issue by calling request_irq later.
Error handling in probe function and calling oder in remove function are
also revised accordingly.

change on how we allocate and use our setup buffer;
we cannot allocate it from coherent anymore otherwise
the generic map/unmap routines won't be able to easily

This is a revert of 6aa56062ea.
This was originally introduced to workaround reads of the ringbuffer
registers returning 0 on SandyBridge causing hangs due to ringbuffer
overflow. The root cause here was reads through the GT powerwell require
the forcewake dance, something we only learnt of later. Now it appears
that reading the reported head position from the HWS is returning
garbage, leading once again to hangs.

This patch (as1531) adds a NOGET quirk for the Slim+ keyboard marketed
by AIREN. This keyboard seems to have a lot of bugs; NOGET works
around only one of them.

The new is_compat_task() define for the !COMPAT case in
include/linux/compat.h conflicts with a similar define in
arch/s390/include/asm/compat.h.

omap3isp depends on omap's iommu and will fail to probe if
initialized before it (which always happen if they are builtin).
Make omap's iommu subsys_initcall as an interim solution until
the probe deferral mechanism is merged.

network device such that the dump size is too large for the buffer
allocated by properly written netlink applications.
In particular, if you add 255 VFs to a network device, parts of
GLIBC stop working.
To fix this, we add an attribute that is used to turn on these
extended portions of the network device dump. Sophisticaed
applications like 'ip' that want to see this stuff will be changed
to set the attribute, whereas things like GLIBC that don't care
about VFs simply will not, and therefore won't be busted by the
mere presence of VFs on a network device.

It used to be that minors where 8 bit. But now they
are actually 20 bit. So the fix is simplicity itself.
I've tested with 300 devices and all user-mode utils
work just fine. I have also mechanically added 10,000
to the ida (so devices are /dev/osd10000, /dev/osd10001 ...)
and was able to mkfs an exofs filesystem and access osds
from user-mode.
All the open-osd user-mode code uses the same library
to access devices through their symbolic names in
/dev/osdX so I'd say it's pretty safe. (Well tested)
This patch is very important because some of the systems
that will be deploying the 3.2 pnfs-objects code are larger
than 64 OSDs and will stop to work properly when reaching
that number.

When pre-allocating skbs for received packets, we set ip_summed =
CHECKSUM_UNNCESSARY. We used to change it back to CHECKSUM_NONE when
the received packet had an incorrect checksum or unhandled protocol.
Commit bc8acf2c8c ('drivers/net: avoid
some skb->ip_summed initializations') mistakenly replaced the latter
assignment with a DEBUG-only assertion that ip_summed ==
CHECKSUM_NONE. This assertion is always false, but it seems no-one
has exercised this code path in a DEBUG build.
Fix this by moving our assignment of CHECKSUM_UNNECESSARY into
efx_rx_packet_gro().

This patch fixes a (mostly cosmetic) bug introduced by the patch
'ppp: Use SKB queue abstraction interfaces in fragment processing'
found here: http://www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg153312.html
The above patch rewrote and moved the code responsible for cleaning
up discarded fragments but the new code does not catch every case
where this is necessary. This results in some discarded fragments
remaining in the queue, and triggering a 'bad seq' error on the
subsequent call to ppp_mp_reconstruct. Fragments are discarded
whenever other fragments of the same frame have been lost.
This can generate a lot of unwanted and misleading log messages.
This patch also adds additional detail to the debug logging to
make it clearer which fragments were lost and which other fragments
were discarded as a result of losses. (Run pppd with 'kdebug 1'
option to enable debug logging.)

__do_config_autodelink passes the data variable to the transport function.
If the calling functions pass a stack variable, this will eventually trigger
a DMA-API debug backtrace for mapping stack memory in the DMA buffer. Fix
this by calling kmemdup for the passed data instead.

For PowerPC, there is dma_mask at struct pdev_archdata, but there is
no dma_mask at struct pdev_archdata for ARM. The pdev_archdata is

The code for pdev_archdata should be useless, as for PowerPC,
it has already gotten the value for pdev->dev.dma_mask at function
arch_setup_pdev_archdata of arch/powerpc/kernel/setup-common.c.

The hardware generates an interrupt for every completed command in the
queue while the code assumed that it will only generate one interrupt
when the queue is empty. So, explicitly check if the queue is really
empty. This patch fixed problems which occurred due to high traffic on
the bus. While we are here, move the completion-initialization after the
parameter error checking.

We must not allow the input buffer length to change while we're
shuffling the buffer contents. We also mustn't clear the WDM_READ
flag after more data might have arrived. Therefore move both of these
into the spinlocked region at the bottom of wdm_read().
When reading desc->length without holding the iuspin lock, use
ACCESS_ONCE() to ensure the compiler doesn't re-read it with
inconsistent results.

Gobi 1000 devices have a different port layout, which wasn't respected
by the current driver, and thus it grabbed the QMI/net port. In the
near future we'll be attaching another driver to the QMI/net port for
these devices (cdc-wdm and qmi_wwan) so make sure the qcserial driver
doesn't claim them. This patch also prevents qcserial from binding to
interfaces 0 and 1 on 1K devices because those interfaces do not
respond.

This patch (as1522) adds two new routines to the usb-serial core, for
registering and unregistering serial drivers. Instead of registering
the usb_driver and usb_serial_drivers separately, with error checking
for each one, the drivers can all be registered and unregistered by a
single function call. This reduces duplicated code.
More importantly, the new core routines change the order in which the
drivers are registered. Currently the usb-serial drivers are all
registered first and the usb_driver is done last, which leaves a
window for problems. A udev script may quickly add a new dynamic-ID
for a usb-serial driver, causing the corresponding usb_driver to be
probed. If the usb_driver hasn't been registered yet then an oops
will occur.
The new routine prevents such problems by registering the usb_driver
first. To insure that it gets probed properly for already-attached
serial devices, we call driver_attach() after all the usb-serial
drivers have been registered.
Along with adding the new routines, the patch modifies the "generic"
serial driver to use them. Further patches will similarly modify all
the other in-tree USB serial drivers.

Adapt omap-iommu-debug to the latest omap-iommu API changes, which
were introduced by commit fabdbca "iommu/omap: eliminate the public
omap_find_iommu_device() method".
In a nutshell, iommu users are not expected to provide the omap_iommu
handle anymore - instead, iommus are attached using their user's device
handle.
omap-iommu-debug is a hybrid beast though: it invokes both public and
private omap iommu API, so fix it as necessary (otherwise a crash
is imminent).
Note: omap-iommu-debug is a bit disturbing, as it fiddles with internal
omap iommu data and requires exposing API which is otherwise not needed.
It should better be more tightly coupled with omap-iommu, to prevent
further bit rot and avoid exposing redundant API. Naturally that's out
of scope for the -rc cycle, so for now just fix the obvious.

The reason of above dump message is calling dma_poll_alloc with can-schedule
mem_flags at atomic context.
To fix this problem, below changes are made:
- fsl_req_to_dtd doesn't need to be protected by spin_lock_irqsave,
as struct usb_request can be access at process context. Move lock
to beginning of hardware visit (fsl_queue_td).
- Change the memory flag which using to allocate dTD descriptor buffer,
the memory flag can be from gadget layer.
It is tested at i.mx51 bbg board with g_mass_storage, g_ether, g_serial.

Commit 509f87c5f5 (evdev - do not block waiting for an event if fd
is nonblock) created a code path were it was possible to use retval
uninitialized.
This could lead to the xorg evdev input driver getting corrupt data
and refusing to work with log messages like

The reason is that the "E6" query response byte is different from
what is expected.

This patch fixes a regression that was introduced by
commit 0a5f384677
davinci_emac: Add Carrier Link OK check in Davinci RX Handler
Said commit adds a check whether the carrier link is ok. If the link is
not ok, the skb is freed and no new dma descriptor added to the rx dma
channel. This causes trouble during initialization when the carrier
status has not yet been updated. If a lot of packets are received while
netif_carrier_ok returns false, all dma descriptors are freed and the
rx dma transfer is stopped.
The bug occurs when the board is connected to a network with lots of
traffic and the ifconfig down/up is done, e.g., when reconfiguring
the interface with DHCP.
The bug can be reproduced by flood pinging the davinci board while doing
ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 up
on the board.
After that, the rx path stops working and the overrun value reported
by ifconfig is counting up.
This patch reverts commit 0a5f384677
and instead issues warnings only if cpdma_chan_submit returns -ENOMEM.

VX900 can do hardware scaling for both IGAs in contrast to previous
hardware which could do it only for IGA2. This patch ensures that
we set the parameter for IGA2 and not for IGA1. This fixes hardware
scaling on VX900 until we have the infrastructure to support it for
both IGAs.

This patch adds the PHY_HAS_INTERRUPT flag for IC+101 device series.
Also the patch does a simple dity-up to signal that
the driver actually is for IP101A LF and IP101G devices.
In fact, these are two similar PHYs that have the same IDs
and mainly differ for the EEE capability supported in the
G series.

The code for ip1001_config_init() was totally broken if you were not
using RGMII. Instead of returning an error code or zero it actually
returned the value in the IP1001_SPEC_CTRL_STATUS_2 register. It was
also trying to set the IP1001_APS_ON bit , but never actually wrote
back the register.
The error checking was also incorrect in both this function and the
reset function, so this patch fixes that up in a consistent fashion.

The A-MPDU code checked against a retry limit, but it was using
the wrong variable to do so. This patch fixes this to assure
proper retry mechanism.
This problem had a side-effect causing the mac80211 flush callback
to remain waiting forever as well. That side effect has been fixed
by commit by Stanislaw Gruszka:

By hwmon sysfs interface convention, setting pwm_enable to zero sets a fan
to full speed. In the f75375s driver, this need be done by enabling
manual fan control, plus duty mode for the F875387 chip, and then setting
the maximum duty cycle. Fix a bug where the two necessary register writes
were swapped, effectively discarding the setting to full-speed.

The "OMAPDSS: HDMI: PHY burnout fix" commit switched the HDMI driver
over to using a GPIO for plug detect. Unfortunately the ->detect()
method was not also updated, causing HDMI to no longer work for the
omapdrm driver (because it would actually check if a connection was
detected before attempting to enable display).

For DSS clock domain to transition from idle to active state. It's necessary
to enable the optional clock DSS_FCLK before we enable the module using the
MODULEMODE bits in the clock domain's CM_DSS_DSS_CLKCTRL register.
This sequence was not followed correctly for the 'dss_hdmi' hwmod and it led
to DSS clock domain not getting out of idle when pm_runtime_get_sync() was
called for hdmi's platform device.
Since the clock domain failed to change it's state to active, the hwmod code
disables any clocks it had enabled before for this hwmod. This led to the clock
'dss_48mhz_clk' gettind disabled.
When hdmi's runtime_resume() op is called, the call to dss_runtime_get()
correctly enables the DSS clock domain this time. However, the clock
'dss_48mhz_clk' is needed for HDMI's PHY to function correctly. Since it was
disabled previously, the driver fails when it tries to enable HDMI's PHY.
Fix this for now by ensuring that dss_runtime_get() is called before we call
pm_runtime_get_sync() for hdmi's platform device. A correct fix for later would
be to modify the DSS related hwmod's mainclks, and also some changes in how
opt clocks are handled in the DSS driver.
This fixes the issue of HDMI not working when it's the default display. The
issue is not seen if any other display is already enabled as the first display
would have correctly enabled the DSS clockdomain.

In the current kernel implementation, the Logitech Harmony 900 remote
control is matched to the cdc_ether driver through the generic
USB_CDC_SUBCLASS_MDLM entry. However, this device appears to be of the
pseudo-MDLM (Belcarra) type, rather than the standard one. This patch
blacklists the Harmony 900 from the cdc_ether driver and whitelists it for
the pseudo-MDLM driver in zaurus.

Intel, radeon, exynos fixes.
Intel: fixes a few Ivybridge hangs, along with fixing RC6 on SNB (still
not on, but at least allows for distros to patch it on easily).
radeon: oops reading some files in debugfs that weren't meant to appear,
a fix that touches a lot of files, so looks worse than it is, it fixes
an oops if a GPU reset fails and userspace keeps submitting more data,
along with a minor BIOS fix for newer boards.
exynos: a group of fixes for exynos, they've sent me a few more but
these were all I got through, and its no hw vanilla kernel users see a
lot off yet.

If accel is not working many subsystem such as the ib pool might not be
initialized properly that can lead to segfault inside kernel when cs
ioctl is call with non working acceleration. To avoid this make sure
the accel working flag is false when an error in GPU startup happen and
return EBUSY from cs ioctl if accel is not working.

This provides unified readq()/writeq() helper functions for 32-bit
drivers.
For some cases, readq/writeq without atomicity is harmful, and order of
io access has to be specified explicitly. So in this patch, new two
header files which contain non-atomic readq/writeq are added.
- <asm-generic/io-64-nonatomic-lo-hi.h> provides non-atomic readq/
writeq with the order of lower address -> higher address
- <asm-generic/io-64-nonatomic-hi-lo.h> provides non-atomic readq/
writeq with reversed order
This allows us to remove some readq()s that were added drivers when the
default non-atomic ones were removed in commit dbee8a0aff ("x86:
remove 32-bit versions of readq()/writeq()")
The drivers which need readq/writeq but can do with the non-atomic ones
must add the line:
#include <asm-generic/io-64-nonatomic-lo-hi.h> /* or hi-lo.h */
But this will be nop in 64-bit environments, and no other #ifdefs are
required. So I believe that this patch can solve the problem of
1. driver-specific readq/writeq
2. atomicity and order of io access
This patch is tested with building allyesconfig and allmodconfig as
ARCH=x86 and ARCH=i386 on top of tip/master.

This patch (as1521b) fixes the interaction between usb-storage's
scanning thread and the freezer. The current implementation has a
race: If the device is unplugged shortly after being plugged in and
just as a system sleep begins, the scanning thread may get frozen
before the khubd task. Khubd won't be able to freeze until the
disconnect processing is complete, and the disconnect processing can't
proceed until the scanning thread finishes, so the sleep transition
will fail.
The implementation in the 3.2 kernel suffers from an additional
problem. There the scanning thread calls set_freezable_with_signal(),
and the signals sent by the freezer will mess up the thread's I/O
delays, which are all interruptible.
The solution to both problems is the same: Replace the kernel thread
used for scanning with a delayed-work routine on the system freezable
work queue. Freezable work queues have the nice property that you can
cancel a work item even while the work queue is frozen, and no signals
are needed.
The 3.2 version of this patch solves the problem in Bugzilla #42730.

The xHCI 0.96 spec says that HS bulk and control endpoint NAK rate must
be encoded as an exponent of two number of microframes. The endpoint
descriptor has the NAK rate encoded in number of microframes. We were
just copying the value from the endpoint descriptor into the endpoint
context interval field, which was not correct. This lead to the VIA
host rejecting the add of a bulk OUT endpoint from any USB 2.0 mass
storage device.
The fix is to use the correct encoding. Refactor the code to convert
number of frames to an exponential number of microframes, and make sure
we convert the number of microframes in HS bulk and control endpoints to
an exponent.
This should be back ported to kernels as old as 2.6.31, that contain the
commit dfa49c4ad1 "USB: xhci - fix math
in xhci_get_endpoint_interval"

The superspeed device attached to a USB 3.0 hub(such as VIA's)
doesn't respond the address device command after resume. The
root cause is the superspeed hub will miss the Hub Depth value
that is used as an offset into the route string to locate the
bits it uses to determine the downstream port number after
reset, and all packets can't be routed to the device attached
to the superspeed hub.
Hub driver sends a Set Hub Depth request to the superspeed hub
except for USB 3.0 root hub when the hub is initialized and
doesn't send the request again after reset due to the resume
process. So moving the code that sends the Set Hub Depth request
to the superspeed hub from hub_configure() to hub_activate()
is to cover those situations include initialization and reset.
The patch should be backported to kernels as old as 2.6.39.
