The vlsi ir driver uses 'timeval', which we try to remove in the kernel
because all 32-bit time types will break in the year 2038.
This patch also changes do_gettimeofday() to ktime_get() accordingly,
since ktime_get returns a ktime_t, but do_gettimeofday returns a
struct timeval, and the other reason is that ktime_get() uses
the monotonic clock.
This patch uses ktime_us_delta to get the elapsed time of microsecond,
and uses div_s64_rem to get what seconds & microseconds time elapsed
for printing.
This patch also changes the function 'vlsi_hard_start_xmit' to do the
same things as the others drivers, that is passing the remaining time
into udelay() instead of looping until enough time has passed.

In the file au1k_ir.c & via-ircc.h, there were two unused definitions of the
timeval type members, this commit therefore removes this unneeded code.
In other three files, the same problem is the rx_time member is only ever
written, never read, so removed it entirely.

In the end asm/mach/irda.h header is not used by anybody except sa1100.
Move the header to the platform data includes dir and rename it to
irda-sa11x0.h.

are never updated, and are only used as parameter of return.
Return the constant instead of using a variable.

Ever since v2.3.5 the driver for "Winbond W83977AF (IR)" contains two
unneeded preprocessor macros.
CONFIG_NETWINDER_TX_DMA_PROBLEMS is never defined and can safely be
removed. And CONFIG_NETWINDER_RX_DMA_PROBLEMS is just an alias for
CONFIG_ARCH_NETWINDER, so that (valid) Kconfig macro can be used
instead.

Issuing set_termios() from irtty_close() causes kernel Oops for
unplugged usb-serial devices.
Since no other tty_ldisc calls set_termios() on close and no tty driver
seem to check if tty->device_data is NULL or not on entry to set_termios(),
the only solution I can come up with is to remove the irtty_stop_receiver()
call, which only updates termios.

This patch removes old and unsupported CLPS711X IrDA driver.
Support for IrDA for CLPS711X serial port now provided by commit
4a33f1f59abd (serial: clps711x: Add support for N_IRDA line
discipline), so IrDA-mode can be turned ON with "irattach" tool
through "irtty" driver.

None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.
This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which
has been submitted separately.

There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern
in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for
function prototypes.
Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern.
extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as
using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block.

If rx_urb allocation fails in mcs_setup_urbs(), tx_urb leaks.
If mcs_receive_start() fails in mcs_net_open(), the both urbs are not deallocated.
The patch fixes the issues and by the way fixes label indentation.

Casting the return value which is a void pointer is redundant.
The conversion from void pointer to any other pointer type is
guaranteed by the C programming language.

Here's the big tty/serial driver pull request for 3.12-rc1.
Lots of n_tty reworks to resolve some very long-standing issues, removing the
3-4 different locks that were taken for every character. This code has been
beaten on for a long time in linux-next with no reported regressions.

__GFP_ZERO is an uncommon flag and perhaps is better
not used. static inline dma_zalloc_coherent exists
so convert the uses of dma_alloc_coherent with __GFP_ZERO
to the more common kernel style with zalloc.
Remove memset from the static inline dma_zalloc_coherent
and add just one use of __GFP_ZERO instead.
Trivially reduces the size of the existing uses of
dma_zalloc_coherent.
Realign arguments as appropriate.

Use the wrapper functions for getting and setting the driver data using
platform_device instead of using deva_set_drvdata() with &pdev->dev,
so we can directly pass a struct platform_device.

If via_ircc_open() fails, data structures of the driver left uninitialized,
but probe (via_init_one()) returns zero. That can lead to null pointer dereference
in via_remove_one(), since it does not check drvdata for NULL.
The patch implements proper error code propagation.
Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org).

The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release
or on probe failure, since commit 0998d06310
(device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no driver is bound).
Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL.

Fix to return -ENOMEM in the irlap_open() error handling case instead
of 0(overwrite to 0 by bfin_sir_startup()), as done elsewhere in this
