Hendrik Brueckner b0753902d4 s390/fpu: split fpu-internal.h into fpu internals, api, and type headers
Split the API and FPU type definitions into separate header files
similar to "x86/fpu: Rename fpu-internal.h to fpu/internal.h" (78f7f1e54b).

The new header files and their meaning are:

asm/fpu/types.h:
FPU related data types, needed for 'struct thread_struct' and
	'struct task_struct'.

asm/fpu/api.h:
FPU related 'public' functions for other subsystems and device
	drivers.

asm/fpu/internal.h:
FPU internal functions mainly used to convert
FPU register contents in signal handling.

Hendrik Brueckner b5510d9b68 s390/fpu: always enable the vector facility if it is available
If the kernel detects that the s390 hardware supports the vector
facility, it is enabled by default at an early stage. To force
it off, use the novx kernel parameter. Note that there is a small
time window, where the vector facility is enabled before it is
forced to be off.

With enabling the vector facility by default, the FPU save and
restore functions can be improved. They do not longer require
to manage expensive control register updates to enable or disable
the vector enablement control for particular processes.

Hendrik Brueckner 9977e886cb s390/kernel: lazy restore fpu registers
Improve the save and restore behavior of FPU register contents to use the
vector extension within the kernel.

The kernel does not use floating-point or vector registers and, therefore,
saving and restoring the FPU register contents are performed for handling
signals or switching processes only. To prepare for using vector
instructions and vector registers within the kernel, enhance the save
behavior and implement a lazy restore at return to user space from a
system call or interrupt.

To implement the lazy restore, the save_fpu_regs() sets a CPU information
flag, CIF_FPU, to indicate that the FPU registers must be restored.
Saving and setting CIF_FPU is performed in an atomic fashion to be
interrupt-safe. When the kernel wants to use the vector extension or
wants to change the FPU register state for a task during signal handling,
the save_fpu_regs() must be called first. The CIF_FPU flag is also set at
process switch. At return to user space, the FPU state is restored. In
particular, the FPU state includes the floating-point or vector register
contents, as well as, vector-enablement and floating-point control. The
FPU state restore and clearing CIF_FPU is also performed in an atomic
fashion.

For KVM, the restore of the FPU register state is performed when restoring
the general-purpose guest registers before the SIE instructions is started.
Because the path towards the SIE instruction is interruptible, the CIF_FPU
flag must be checked again right before going into SIE. If set, the guest
registers must be reloaded again by re-entering the outer SIE loop. This
is the same behavior as if the SIE critical section is interrupted.

Heinz Graalfs b764bb1c50 KVM: s390,perf: Detect if perf samples belong to KVM host or guest
This patch is based on an original patch of David Hildenbrand.

The perf core implementation calls architecture specific code in order
to ask for specific information for a particular sample:

perf_instruction_pointer()
When perf core code asks for the instruction pointer, architecture
specific code must detect if a KVM guest was running when the sample
was taken. A sample can be associated with a KVM guest when the PSW
supervisor state bit is set and the PSW instruction pointer part
contains the address of 'sie_exit'.
A KVM guest's instruction pointer information is then retrieved via
gpsw entry pointed to by the sie control-block.

perf_misc_flags()
perf code code calls this function in order to associate the kernel
vs. user state infomation with a particular sample. Architecture
specific code must also first detectif a KVM guest was running
at the time the sample was taken.

Heiko Carstens 535c611ddd s390/string: provide asm lib functions for memcpy and memcmp
Our memcpy and memcmp variants were implemented by calling the corresponding
gcc builtin variants.
However gcc is free to replace a call to __builtin_memcmp with a call to memcmp
which, when called, will result in an endless recursion within memcmp.
So let's provide asm variants and also fix the variants that are used for
uncompressing the kernel image.
In addition remove all other occurences of builtin function calls.

Martin Schwidefsky 603d1a50ac [S390] move sie code to entry.S
The entry to / exit from sie has subtle dependencies to the first level
interrupt handler. Move the sie assembler code to entry64.S and replace
the SIE_HOOK callback with a test and the new _TIF_SIE bit.
In addition this patch fixes several problems in regard to the check for
the_TIF_EXIT_SIE bits. The old code checked the TIF bits before executing
the interrupt handler and it only modified the instruction address if it
pointed directly to the sie instruction. In both cases it could miss
a TIF bit that normally would cause an exit from the guest and would
reenter the guest context.

Michael Holzheu 0a87c5cfc0 [S390] vmur: fix diag14 exceptions with addresses > 2GB.
There are several s390 diagnose calls, which must be executed below the
2GB memory boundary. In order to enforce this, those diagnoses must be
compiled into the kernel. Currently diag 14 can be called within the
vmur kernel module from addresses above 2GB. This leads to specification
exceptions. This patch moves diag10, diag14 and diag210 into the new
diag.c file.

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
