This converts the mcp23s08 driver to be able to be used with
device tree.
There is a "spi-present-mask" device tree property, that allows to
use multiple of this spi chips on the same chipselect.

When booting with device-tree the function pointer for detecting context
loss is not populated. Ideally, the pm_runtime framework should be
enhanced to allow a means for reporting context/state loss and we could
avoid populating such function pointers altogether. In the interim until
a generic non-device specific solution is in place, force a restore of
the gpio bank when enabling the gpio controller.
Adds a new device-tree property for the OMAP GPIO controller to indicate
if the GPIO controller is located in a power-domain that never loses
power and hence will always maintain its logic state.

The OMAP GPIO interrupt service routine is checking each bit in the
GPIO interrupt status register to see which bits are set. It is not
efficient to check every bit especially if only a few bits are set.
Therefore, instead of checking every bit use the __ffs() function,
which returns the location of the first set bit, to find all the set
bits.
This optimisation was suggested-by and developed in collaboration
with Felipe Balbi.

68942edb09 (gpio/omap: fix wakeups
on level-triggered GPIOs) already restores the fallingdetect and
risingdetect contexts in *_runtime_resume(). These registers were
modified in *_runtime_suspend() to include even those configured
as level-triggered since only edge-triggered gpios can generate
wakeup events. Therefore, the old context restores of the same
registers present later in the code is not needed any more.
Remove them.

Currently the IRQ domain is not freed once allocated, in the case where
omap_gpio_probe() fails. Therefore, ensure we free the domain if the
probe does fail. Furthermore, the local variable "ret" is not needed
and so remove this.

This patch add the gpio wakeup source handling for the Tegra platform. It

This patch is V3 of a GPIO driver for the R-Car series of
SoCs from Renesas. This driver is designed to be reusable
between multiple SoCs that share the same basic building block,
but so far it has only been used on R-Car H1 (r8a7779).
Each driver instance handles 32 GPIOs with individually
maskable IRQs. The driver operates on a single I/O memory
range and the 32 GPIOs are hooked up a single interrupt.
In the case of R-Car H1 either external IRQ pins or GPIOs
with interrupts can be used for on-board interupts. For
external IRQs 4 pins are supported, and in the case of GPIO
there are 202 GPIOS as 202 interrupts hooked up via 6 driver
instances and to the GIC and the Cortex-A9 Quad.
At this point this driver is interfacing as a regular
platform device driver. In the future DT support will be
submitted as an incremental feature patch.

Stop checking for pin availability in direction and get functions.
These functions can be called repeatedly, so checking every time is
bad for performance. Now that requesting GPIO pins is no longer
optional, checking for availability at pin request time is enough.

Per Documentation/gpio.txt, gpio_request callbacks should return 0 on
success or a negative value on error. So it is not clear what was
meant by letting ichx_gpio_request return 1 in some cases, nor how a
caller would interpret it.
Align the code with the comment above it and consider pins as
available by default.

The kirkwood SoC GPIO cores use the runit clock. Add code to
clk_prepare_enable() runit, otherwise there is a danger of locking up
the SoC by accessing the GPIO registers when runit clock is not
ticking.

Add the pl061_gpio_request() to request pinctrl. Create the logic
between pl061 gpio driver and pinctrl (pinctrl-single) driver.
While a gpio pin is requested, it will request pinctrl driver to
set that pin with gpio function mode. So pinctrl driver should
append .gpio_request_enable() in pinmux_ops.

If index++ calculates from 0, the checking condition of "while
(index++)" fails & it doesn't check any more. It doesn't follow
the loop that used at here.
Replace it by endless loop at here. Then it keeps parsing
"gpio-ranges" property until it ends.

Update the Emma Mobile GPIO driver to add DT support.
The patch simply adds a two-cell xlate function and
updates the probe code to allow configuration via DT
using the "ngpios" property plus OF id in the same
style as gpio-mvebu.c. The code is also adjusted to
use postcore_initcall() to force early setup.

For OMAP devices, if a gpio is being used as an interrupt source but has
not been requested by calling gpio_request(), a call to request_irq()
may cause the kernel hang because the gpio bank may be disabled and
hence the register access will fail. To prevent such hangs, test for
this case and warn if this is detected.

Currently the OMAP GPIO driver uses a legacy mapping for the GPIO IRQ
domain. This is not necessary because we do not need to assign a
specific interrupt number to the GPIO IRQ domain. Therefore, convert
the OMAP GPIO driver to use a linear mapping instead.
Please note that this also allows to simplify the logic in the OMAP
gpio_irq_handler() routine, by using irq_find_mapping() to obtain the
virtual irq number from the GPIO bank and bank index.

Doing this removes the dependence of this driver on the
msm_iomap.h and cpu.h mach include headers provied by MSM. This
is necessary to support single zImage work in the future and
allows us to remove cpu.h entirely and brings us closer to
removing msm_iomap.h.

The s3c2412 handles the eints 0 to 3 different than all the other SoCs
of the 24xx range. These eints must be acked and masked in the regular
bits as well as the bits 0 to 3 of the eint registers, which are unused
on the other SoCs.
This of course can be realized using the new infrastructure with the
eint bits in the main register being the parent interrupts of the
same bits in the eint register.
The s3c2412 therefore gets its own IRQ_EINT0 to 4 constants that
reside in the newly created gap before IRQ_EINT4. gpio-samsung, as the
only user of these is modified to return the correct values when
handling gpio_to_irq requests on s3c2412 based machines.
Due to lack of hardware this is compile tested only, but should
hopefully work as intended.

ichx_gpio_check_available() returns either 0 or -ENXIO depending on whether
the given GPIO is available or not. However, callers of this function treat
the return value as boolean:

which erroneusly fails when the GPIO is available and not vice versa.
Fix this by making the function return boolean as expected by the callers.

Some functions dereferenced their GPIO descriptor argument without
checking its validity first, potentially leading to an oops when given
an invalid argument.
This patch also makes gpio_get_value() more resilient when given an
invalid GPIO, returning 0 instead of silently crashing.

A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated
largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the
others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems.
The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point
where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify
the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree
as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically
touch every single platform in the process.
We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here,
with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being
"multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose
their headers to architecture independent code any more.
It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup.
The overall reduction in total code lines is mostly the result of
removing broken and obsolete code.

Adjust the gpio-em.c driver to reconsider the pdata->irq_base
variable. Non-DT board code like for instance board-kzm9d.c
needs to operate of a static IRQ range for platform devices.
So this patch is updating the code to make use of the function
irq_domain_add_simple() instead of irq_domain_add_linear().
Fixes a EMEV2 / KZM9D runtime error caused by the following commit:

The VIA VX855/VX875 GPIO and RDC R-321x GPIO support drivers select
MFD_CORE which itself depends on GENERIC_HARDIRQ support.
So add this dependency to these two drivers as well to prevent
selection of MFD_CORE.

This patch replaces the horribly coded of_count_named_gpios() with a
call to of_count_phandle_with_args() which is far more efficient. This
also changes the return value of of_gpio_count() & of_gpio_named_count()
from 'unsigned int' to 'int' so that it can return an error code. All
the users of that function are fixed up to correctly handle a negative
return value.

This driver is missing a .remove callback, and the fail path on
probe is incomplete.
If an error occurs in vt8500_add_chips, gpio_base is not unmapped.
The driver is also ignoring the return value from this function so
if a chip fails to register it completes as successful.
Replaced pr_err with dev_err in vt8500_add_chips since the device is
available.
There is also no .remove callback defined so the function is added.

Add a pointer to the gpio_chip structure that references the array of
GPIO descriptors belonging to the chip, and update gpiolib code to use
this pointer instead of the global gpio_desc[] array. This is another
step towards the removal of the gpio_desc[] global array.

Re-implement gpiochip_find_base using the list of chips instead of the
global gpio_desc[] array. This makes it both simpler and more efficient,
and is needed to remove the global descriptors array.
The new code should preserve the exact same GPIO number assignment
policy as the code it is replacing. There shouldn't be any visible
change to the assigned GPIO numbers.

Add a list member to gpio_chip that allows all chips to be parsed
quickly. The current method requires parsing the entire GPIO integer
space, which is painfully slow. Using a list makes many chip operations
that involve lookup or parsing faster, and also simplifies the code. It
is also necessary to eventually get rid of the global gpio_desc[] array.
The list of gpio_chips is always ordered by base GPIO number to ensure
chips traversal is done in the right order.

All in-kernel users of class_find_device() don't really need mutable
data for match callback.
In two places (kernel/power/suspend_test.c, drivers/scsi/osd/osd_uld.c)
this patch changes match callbacks to use const search data.
The const is propagated to rtc_class_open() and power_supply_get_by_name()
parameters.
Note that there's a dev reference leak in suspend_test.c that's not
touched in this patch.

Add gpio support for Intel Lynxpoint chipset.
Lynxpoint supports 94 gpio pins which can generate interrupts.
Driver will fail requests for pins that are marked as owned by ACPI, or
set in an alternate mode (non-gpio).

Exporting gpios over sysfs GPIO interface throws genirq
error messages, i.e. on an mpc5121 based board exporting
GPIO 5 triggers it:
# echo 229 > /sys/class/gpio/export
genirq: Setting trigger mode 0 for irq 44 failed
(mpc512x_irq_set_type+0x0/0x18c)
Similar error messages appear in the kernel boot log since the
board specifies GPIOs for matrix keypad and also SD Card write
protect and card detect GPIOs in its device tree. For all these
GPIOs there is an error message in the log.
The issue is triggered by setting the irq type to IRQ_TYPE_NONE
in the driver's irq_domain map function mpc8xxx_gpio_irq_map().

irq_set_irq_type
__irq_set_trigger
__irq_set_trigger() calls irq_set_type() callback of the mpc8xxx gpio
irq chip with the IRQ_TYPE_NONE in its 'flags' argument. This callback
is either mpc8xxx_irq_set_type() or mpc512x_irq_set_type(). Both these
functions return -EINVAL in the case if IRQ_TYPE_NONE is passed in the
flow_type argument. This return value triggers the observed error
message in __irq_set_trigger(). Modifying these callbacks to not
return an error in IRQ_TYPE_NONE case doesn't make any sense to me.
The line setting IRQ_TYPE_NONE type has been originally added by
commit 345e5c8a "powerpc: Add interrupt support to mpc8xxx_gpio".
At this time set_irq_type() checked its type argument and returned 0
if the type argument didn't specify any meaningful type in its type
sense bits (and thus was equal to IRQ_TYPE_NONE). Effectively this
line was a nop and I wonder what was the point of adding it.
Remove IRQ_TYPE_NONE setting in the irq_domain mapping function.

gpiochip_reserve() has no user and stands in the way of the removal of

Add ability to handle ACPI events signalled by GPIO interrupts.
ACPI5 platforms can use GPIO signaled ACPI events. These GPIO interrupts are
handled by ACPI event methods which need to be called from the GPIO
controller's interrupt handler. acpi_gpio_request_interrupt() finds out which
gpio pins have acpi event methods and assigns interrupt handlers that calls
the acpi event methods for those pins.

This switches the legacy irqdomain to the simple one, which will
auto-allocate descriptors, and also make sure that we use
irq_create_mapping() in the to_irq function. Also use the map function
of irq_domain_ops to setup the irq configuration on demand and no more
statically during the initialization of the driver.

launched before gpio driver in Makefile. So set gpio driver to module
init level. Otherwise, the sequence will be inverted.

Until now the pca953x driver accessed all the bank of a given register
in a single command using only a 32 bits variable. New expanders from
the pca53x family come with 40 GPIOs which no more fit in a 32
variable. This patch make access to the registers more generic by
relying on an array of u8 variables. This fits exactly the way the
registers are represented in the hardware.
It also adds helpers to access to a single register of a bank instead
of reading or writing all the banks for a given register.

Convert all uses of devm_request_and_ioremap() to the newly introduced
devm_ioremap_resource() which provides more consistent error handling.
devm_ioremap_resource() provides its own error messages so all explicit
error messages can be removed from the failure code paths.

Some architectures (e.g. blackfin) provide gpio API without requiring
GPIOLIB support (ARCH_WANT_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB). devm_gpio_* functions
should also work for these architectures, since they do not really
depend on GPIOLIB.
Add a new option GPIO_DEVRES (enabled by default) to control the build
of devres.c. It also removes the empty version of devm_gpio_*
functions for !GENERIC_GPIO build from linux/gpio.h, and moves the
function declarations from asm-generic/gpio.h into linux/gpio.h.

Use more coherent locking in the driver. Use bitfield to store the GPIO
direction and if the pin is configured as output store the status also in a
bitfiled.
In this way we can just look at these bitfields when we need information
about the pin status and only reach out to the chip when it is needed.

Since EXYNOS5440 can select PINCTRL_EXYNOS5440 without PINCTRL_SAMSUNG,
it should be fixed. In detail, PINCTRL_SAMSUNG is a kind of frame work
for supporting pinctrl on most Samsung SoCs including S3C, S5P as well
except EXYNOS5440 so PINCTRL_EXYNOS5440 has been implemented separated.

The vendor does not provide numbering for gpio pins. Vendor source
exports dedicated gpio pins first, followed by multifunction pins.
As this is what end users expect, this patch changes vt8500 and wm8505
to do the same.

CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev*
markings need to be removed.
This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata,
__devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers.
Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me
in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand.

When building without device tree support (for the mv78x00 SoCs for
example), the build failed because of_irq_count is undeclared. However
mvebu-gpio is not designed to build without device tree support. So
make it depends on OF_CONFIG, remove the #ifdef OF_CONFIG line and the
platform_device_id.
Tested on RD-78x00-mASA, DB-78460-BP, DB-88F6710-BP-DDR3,
DB-MV784MP-GP, Mirabox and OpenBlocks AX3.

Continued device tree conversion and enablement across a number of
platforms; Kirkwood, tegra, i.MX, Exynos, zynq and a couple of other
smaller series as well.
ux500 has seen continued conversion for platforms. Several platforms have
seen pinctrl-via-devicetree conversions for simpler multiplatform. Tegra
is adding data for new devices/drivers, and Exynos has a bunch of new
bindings and devices added as well.

going to be a pain for the merge with different subsystem trees, I know,
but all of the patches included here have been ACKed by their various
subsystem maintainers, as they wanted them to go through here.
If this is too much of a pain, I can pull all of them out of this tree
and just send you one with the other fixes/updates and then, after
3.8-rc1 is out, do the rest of the removals to ensure we catch them all,
it's up to you. The merges should all be trivial, and Stephen has been
doing them all in linux-next for a few weeks now quite easily.
Other than the __dev* marking removals, there's nothing major here, some
firmware loading updates and other minor things in the driver core.

The STMPE GPIO driver can be used as an IRQ controller by some
related devices. Here we provide it with its very own IRQ Domain
so that IRQs can be issued dynamically. This will stand the
driver in good stead when it is enabled for Device Tree, as this
it a prerequisite.

Technologic Systems TS-5500 provides digital I/O lines exposed through
pin blocks. On this platform, there are three of them, named DIO1, DIO2
and LCD port, that may be used as a DIO block.
The TS-5500 pin blocks are described in the product's wiki:

This driver is not limited to the TS-5500 blocks. It can be extended to
support similar boards pin blocks, such as on the TS-5600.

Commit dece904d (gpio: pl061: use chained_irq_* functions in irq
handler) introduced chained_irq_enter/exit, which is only
available for arch/arm and the driver won't compile elsewhere.
The dependency is thus made explicit, because AMBA is used in the x86
world by a PCI-to-AMBA bridge, to be submitted.

Add support for translating ACPI GPIO pin numbers to Linux GPIO API pins.
Needs a gpio controller driver with the acpi handler hook set.
Drivers can use acpi_get_gpio() to translate ACPI5 GpioIO and GpioInt
resources to Linux GPIO's.

To be crystal clear on what the arguments mean in this
funtion dealing with both GPIO and PIN ranges with confusing
naming, we now have gpio_offset and pin_offset and we are
on the clear that these are offsets into the specific GPIO
and pin controller respectively. The GPIO chip itself will
of course keep track of the base offset into the global
GPIO number space.

If we try to create a range for a certain GPIO chip and the
target pin controller is not yet available it may return
a probe deferral error code, so handle this all the way
our by checking the error code.

Like with commit 3c739ad0df
it is not always enough to specify all the pins of a gpio_chip
from offset zero to be added to a pin map range, since the
mapping from GPIO to pin controller may not be linear at all,
but need to be broken into a few consecutive sub-ranges or
1-pin entries for complicated cases. The ranges may also be
sparse.
This alters the signature of the function to accept offsets
into both the GPIO-chip local pinspace and the pin controller
local pinspace.

SPEAr platform provides a provision to control chipselects of ARM PL022
Prime Cell spi controller through its system registers, which otherwise
remains under PL022 control which some protocols do not want.
This commit intends to provide the spi chipselect control in software over
gpiolib interface. spi chip drivers can use the exported gpiolib interface to
define their chipselect through DT or platform data.

The driver has both SPI and I2C pieces. The appropriate pieces are built based
on whether SPI and/or I2C is/are enabled. However, it was only checking if I2C
was built-in, never if it was built as a module. This patch checks for either
since building both this driver and I2C as modules is possible.

The driver accesses the of_node field of struct gpio_chip, which is only
available if OF_GPIO is selected. This solves a build issue on SPARC
which conflicts with OF_GPIO and therefore does not provide this field.

The plat-orion GPIO driver would disable any pin blinking whenever
using a pin for output. Do the same here, as a blinking LED will
continue to blink regardless of what the GPIO pin level is.

Avoid using the TWL4030_MODULE_PWMA/B as module ID. The LEDEN, PWMA ON/OFF
and PWMB ON/OFF registers are in a continuous range starting from LED base.
This is going to be helpful for further cleanup in the twl stack.
No functional changes.

PXA95x isn't widely used. And it adds the effort on supporting
multiple platform. So remove it.
The assumption is that nobody will miss this support. If you are
reading this text because you actually require pxa95x support on
a new kernel, we can work out a way to revert this patch or add
support to the mmp platform.

The fact that of_gpiochip_add_pin_range() and
gpiochip_add_pin_range() share too much code is fragile and
will invariably mean that bugs need to be fixed in two places
instead of one.
So separate the concerns of gpiolib.c and gpiolib-of.c and
have the latter call the former as back-end. This is necessary
also when going forward with other device descriptions such
as ACPI.
This is done by:
- Adding a return code to gpiochip_add_pin_range() so we can
reliably check whether this succeeds.
- Get rid of the custom of_pinctrl_add_gpio_range() from
pinctrl. Instead create of_pinctrl_get() to just retrive the
pin controller per se from an OF node. This composite
function was just begging to be deleted, it was way to
purpose-specific.
- Use pinctrl_dev_get_name() to get the name of the retrieved
pin controller and use that to call back into the generic
gpiochip_add_pin_range().
Now the pin range is only allocated and tied to a pin
controller from the core implementation in gpiolib.c.

<linux/gpio.h> (previously the actual prototypes were declared

- Declare the gpiochip_add_pin_range() and
gpiochip_remove_pin_ranges() functions in <asm-generic/gpio.h>
together with the pin range struct declaration itself.
- Actually only implement these very functions in gpiolib.c

pinctrl subsystem needs gpio chip base to prepare set of gpio
pin ranges, which a given pinctrl driver can handle. This is
important to handle pinctrl gpio request calls in order to
program a given pin properly for gpio operation.
As gpio base is allocated dynamically during gpiochip
registration, presently there exists no clean way to pass this
information to the pinctrl subsystem.
After few discussions from [1], it was concluded that may be
gpio controller reporting the pin range it supports, is a
better way than pinctrl subsystem directly registering it.

Pull sparc fixes from David Miller:
"Several build/bug fixes for sparc, including:
1) Configuring a mix of static vs. modular sparc64 crypto modules
didn't work, remove an ill-conceived attempt to only have to build
the device match table for these drivers once to fix the problem.
Reported by Meelis Roos.
2) Make the montgomery multiple/square and mpmul instructions actually
usable in 32-bit tasks. Essentially this involves providing 32-bit
userspace with a way to use a 64-bit stack when it needs to.
3) Our sparc64 atomic backoffs don't yield cpu strands properly on
Niagara chips. Use pause instruction when available to achieve
this, otherwise use a benign instruction we know blocks the strand
for some time.
4) Wire up kcmp
5) Fix the build of various drivers by removing the unnecessary
blocking of OF_GPIO when SPARC.
6) Fix unintended regression wherein of_address_to_resource stopped
being provided. Fix from Andreas Larsson.
7) Fix NULL dereference in leon_handle_ext_irq(), also from Andreas

Following are changes done to fix the suspend/resume
functionality of tegra gpio driver:
- Protect suspend/resume callbacks with CONFIG_PM_SLEEP
because CONFIG_PM doesn't actually enable any of the PM callbacks, it
only allows to enable CONFIG_PM_SLEEP and CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME.
This means if CONFIG_PM is used to protect system sleep callbacks
then it may end up unreferenced if only runtime PM is enabled.
- Fix the suspend/resume APIs declaration as per callback prototype.

This patch modifies the Samsung GPIO driver to check for pinctrl driver
presence earlier and use generic matching instead of a single compatible
value.
This allows us to fix warning about unrecognized SoC in case of
EXYNOS4X12, which is not supported by this driver.
