Linus Torvalds 39de65aa2c Merge branch 'i2c/for-next' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wsa/linux
Pull i2c updates from Wolfram Sang:
"Here is the pull request from the i2c subsystem. It got a little
delayed because I needed to wait for a dependency to be included
(commit b424080a9e08: "reset: Add optional resets and stubs"). Plus,
I had some email problems. All done now, the highlights are:

   - drivers can now deprecate their use of i2c classes. That shouldn't
be used on embedded platforms anyhow and was often blindly
copy&pasted. This mechanism gives users time to switch away and
ultimately boot faster once the use of classes for those drivers is
     gone for good.

   - new drivers for QUP, Cadence, efm32

   - tracepoint support for I2C and SMBus

   - bigger cleanups for the mv64xxx, nomadik, and designware drivers

And the usual bugfixes, cleanups, feature additions. Most stuff has
been in linux-next for a while. Just some hot fixes and new drivers
were added a bit more recently."

Linus Torvalds 4ba9920e5e Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next
Pull networking updates from David Miller:

 1) BPF debugger and asm tool by Daniel Borkmann.

 2) Speed up create/bind in AF_PACKET, also from Daniel Borkmann.

 3) Correct reciprocal_divide and update users, from Hannes Frederic
    Sowa and Daniel Borkmann.

 4) Currently we only have a "set" operation for the hw timestamp socket
ioctl, add a "get" operation to match. From Ben Hutchings.

 5) Add better trace events for debugging driver datapath problems, also
    from Ben Hutchings.

 6) Implement auto corking in TCP, from Eric Dumazet. Basically, if we
have a small send and a previous packet is already in the qdisc or
device queue, defer until TX completion or we get more data.

 7) Allow userspace to manage ipv6 temporary addresses, from Jiri Pirko.

 8) Add a qdisc bypass option for AF_PACKET sockets, from Daniel
    Borkmann.

 9) Share IP header compression code between Bluetooth and IEEE802154
    layers, from Jukka Rissanen.

10) Fix ipv6 router reachability probing, from Jiri Benc.

11) Allow packets to be captured on macvtap devices, from Vlad Yasevich.

12) Support tunneling in GRO layer, from Jerry Chu.

13) Allow bonding to be configured fully using netlink, from Scott
    Feldman.

14) Allow AF_PACKET users to obtain the VLAN TPID, just like they can
already get the TCI. From Atzm Watanabe.

15) New "Heavy Hitter" qdisc, from Terry Lam.

16) Significantly improve the IPSEC support in pktgen, from Fan Du.

17) Allow ipv4 tunnels to cache routes, just like sockets. From Tom
    Herbert.

18) Add Proportional Integral Enhanced packet scheduler, from Vijay
    Subramanian.

19) Allow openvswitch to mmap'd netlink, from Thomas Graf.

20) Key TCP metrics blobs also by source address, not just destination
    address. From Christoph Paasch.

21) Support 10G in generic phylib. From Andy Fleming.

22) Try to short-circuit GRO flow compares using device provided RX
hash, if provided. From Tom Herbert.

Linus Torvalds 7e21774db5 The first half of the clk framework pull request is made up almost
entirely of new platform/driver support. There are some conversions of
existing drivers to the common-clock Device Tree binding, and a few
 non-critical fixes to the framework.

Due to an entirely unnecessary cyclical dependency with the arm-soc tree
this pull request is broken into two pieces. The second piece will be
sent out after arm-soc sends you the pull request that merged in core
support for the HiSilicon 3620 platform. That same pull request from
arm-soc depends on this pull request to merge in those HiSilicon bits
 without causing build failures.

Pull clk framework changes from Mike Turquette:
"The first half of the clk framework pull request is made up almost
entirely of new platform/driver support. There are some conversions
of existing drivers to the common-clock Device Tree binding, and a few
  non-critical fixes to the framework.

Due to an entirely unnecessary cyclical dependency with the arm-soc
tree this pull request is broken into two pieces. The second piece
will be sent out after arm-soc sends you the pull request that merged
in core support for the HiSilicon 3620 platform. That same pull
request from arm-soc depends on this pull request to merge in those
HiSilicon bits without causing build failures"

Peter Zijlstra 93ea02bb84 arch: Clean up asm/barrier.h implementations using asm-generic/barrier.h
We're going to be adding a few new barrier primitives, and in order to
avoid endless duplication make more agressive use of
asm-generic/barrier.h.

Change the asm-generic/barrier.h such that it allows partial barrier
definitions and fills out the rest with defaults.

There are a few architectures (m32r, m68k) that could probably
do away with their barrier.h file entirely but are kept for now due to
their unconventional nop() implementation.

Sylwester Nawrocki ac2df527fb clk: Add common __clk_get(), __clk_put() implementations
This patch adds common __clk_get(), __clk_put() clkdev helpers that
replace their platform specific counterparts when the common clock
API is used.

The owner module pointer field is added to struct clk so a reference
to the clock supplier module can be taken by the clock consumers.

The owner module is assigned while the clock is being registered,
in functions _clk_register() and __clk_register().

Linus Torvalds 8a5dc585d5 Main pin control pull request for the v3.13 cycle:
- Blackfin ADI pin control driver, we move yet another
   architecture under this subsystem umbrella.

 - Incremental updates to the Renesas Super-H PFC pin control
driver. New subdriver for the r8a7791 SoC.

 - Non-linear GPIO ranges from the gpiolib side of things,
this enabled simplified device tree bindings by referring
entire groups of pins on some pin controller to act as
   back-end for a certain GPIO-chip driver.

 - Add the Abilis TB10x pin control driver used on the ARC
architecture. Also the corresponding GPIO driver is merged
through this tree, so the ARC has full support for pins
   and GPIOs after this.

 - Subdrivers for Freescale i.MX1, i.MX27 and i.MX50 pin
controller instances. The i.MX1 and i.MX27 is an entirely
new family (silicon) of controllers whereas i.MX50 is
a variant of the previous supported controller.

 - Then the usual slew of fixes, cleanups and incremental
   updates.

Linus Torvalds d895cb1af1 Merge branch 'for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/viro/vfs
Pull vfs pile (part one) from Al Viro:
"Assorted stuff - cleaning namei.c up a bit, fixing ->d_name/->d_parent
  locking violations, etc.

The most visible changes here are death of FS_REVAL_DOT (replaced with
"has ->d_weak_revalidate()") and a new helper getting from struct file
to inode. Some bits of preparation to xattr method interface changes.

Misc patches by various people sent this cycle *and* ocfs2 fixes from
several cycles ago that should've been upstream right then.

PS: the next vfs pile will be xattr stuff."

Pull signal handling cleanups from Al Viro:
"This is the first pile; another one will come a bit later and will
  contain SYSCALL_DEFINE-related patches.

   - a bunch of signal-related syscalls (both native and compat)
     unified.

   - a bunch of compat syscalls switched to COMPAT_SYSCALL_DEFINE
(fixing several potential problems with missing argument
validation, while we are at it)

   - a lot of now-pointless wrappers killed

   - a couple of architectures (cris and hexagon) forgot to save
altstack settings into sigframe, even though they used the
     (uninitialized) values in sigreturn; fixed.

   - microblaze fixes for delivery of multiple signals arriving at once

   - saner set of helpers for signal delivery introduced, several
     architectures switched to using those."

Geert Uytterhoeven afbe21d8b3 blackfin: Provide dma_mmap_coherent() and dma_get_sgtable()
blackfin/allmodconfig:

drivers/media/v4l2-core/videobuf2-dma-contig.c: In function ‘vb2_dc_mmap’:
drivers/media/v4l2-core/videobuf2-dma-contig.c:204: error: implicit declaration of function ‘dma_mmap_coherent’
drivers/media/v4l2-core/videobuf2-dma-contig.c: In function ‘vb2_dc_get_base_sgt’:
drivers/media/v4l2-core/videobuf2-dma-contig.c:387: error: implicit declaration of function ‘dma_get_sgtable’

For architectures using dma_map_ops, dma_mmap_coherent() and
dma_get_sgtable() are provided in <asm-generic/dma-mapping-common.h>.

Blackfin does not use dma_map_ops, hence it should implement them as inline
stubs using dma_common_mmap() and dma_common_get_sgtable().

resolution is trivial - just remove definitions of SS_ONSTACK and

Al Viro 1ca97bb541 new helper: current_user_stack_pointer()
Cross-architecture equivalent of rdusp(); default is
user_stack_pointer(current_pt_regs()) - that works for almost all
platforms that have usp saved in pt_regs. The only exception from
that is ia64 - we want memory stack, not the backing store for
register one.

Al Viro ae903caae2 Bury the conditionals from kernel_thread/kernel_execve series
All architectures have
	CONFIG_GENERIC_KERNEL_THREAD
	CONFIG_GENERIC_KERNEL_EXECVE
	__ARCH_WANT_SYS_EXECVE
None of them have __ARCH_WANT_KERNEL_EXECVE and there are only two callers
of kernel_execve() (which is a trivial wrapper for do_execve() now) left.
Kill the conditionals and make both callers use do_execve().
