Stop abusing displaysurface fields for text mode displays.
(bpp = 0, width = cols, height = lines).
Add flags to displaystate indicating whenever text mode display
(curses) or gfx mode displays (sdl, vnc, ...) are present.
Add separate displaychangelistener callbacks for text / gfx mode
resize & updates.
This allows to enable gfx and txt diplays at the same time and also
paves the way for more cleanups in the future.

When -usb option is used, global varible usb_enabled is set.
And all the plaform will create one USB controller according
to this variable. In fact, global varibles make code hard
to read.
So this patch is to remove global variable usb_enabled and
add USB option in machine options. All the plaforms will get
USB option value from machine options.
USB option of machine options will be set either by:
* -usb
* -machine type=pseries,usb=on
Both these ways can work now. They both set USB option in
machine options. In the future, the first way will be removed.

This should help us to:
- More easily add or remove machine initialization arguments without
having to change every single machine init function;
- More easily make mechanical changes involving the machine init
functions in the future;
- Let machine initialization forward the init arguments to other
functions more easily.
This change was half-mechanical process: first the struct was added with
the local ram_size, boot_device, kernel_*, initrd_*, and cpu_model local
variable initialization to all functions. Then the compiler helped me
locate the local variables that are unused, so they could be removed.

QEMU exposes its version to the guest's hardware and in some cases that is wrong
(e.g. Windows prints messages about driver updates when you switch
the QEMU version).
There is a new field now on the struct QEmuMachine, hw_version, which may
contain the version that the specific machine should report. If that field is
set, then that machine will report that version to the guest.

omap_mpu_state_s::env was renamed to cpu while changing its type.
With n800_s::cpu of type omap_mpu_state_s* this leads to s->cpu->cpu.
Rename the field to "mpu" to avoid this ugliness.

Convert the omap_intc devices to qdev. This includes adding
a 'revision' property which will be needed for omap3.
The bulk of this patch is the replacement of "s->irq[x][y]"
with "qdev_get_gpio_in(s->ih[x], y)" now that the interrupt
controller exposes its input lines as qdev gpio inputs.
The devices are named "omap-intc" and "omap2-intc", following
the filename and the OMAP2/3 hardware names, although some
internal functions are still named "omap_inth_*".

Now that all callers of omap_gpmc_attach pass in a MemoryRegion*,
we can remove the base_update and unmap function pointer arguments,
and the opaque pointer that was passed into these callbacks.
We can also remove the base and size fields from omap_gpmc_cs_file_s
as these are no longer necessary (you don't need the base/size
to unmap a MemoryRegion the way you did to undo a mapping made
with cpu_register_physical_memory()).

Handle the manufacturer, device and version IDs separately rather than
smooshing them all together into a single uint32_t. Note that the ID
registers are actually 16 bit, even though typically the top bits are 0
and the Read Identification Data command only returns the bottom 8 bits.

Since lm832x has been qdev'ified, its users will generally
have a DeviceState pointer rather than an i2c_slave pointer,
so adjust lm832x_key_event's prototype to suit.
This allows the n810 (its only user) to actually pass a correct
pointer to it rather than NULL. The effect is that we no longer
segfault when a key is pressed.

Booting an arm kernel has been broken a while when booting from non zero start
address. This is due to the order of events: board init loads the kernel and
sets register 15 to the start address and then qemu_system_reset reset the cpu
making register 15 zero again.
This patch fixes the usage of the register 15 start address trick in
combination with arm_load_kernel.

In the very least, a change like this requires discussion on the list.
The naming convention is goofy and it causes a massive merge problem. Something
like this _must_ be presented on the list first so people can provide input
and cope with it.

Callers must pass ELF machine, byte swapping and symbol LSB clearing
information to ELF loader. A.out loader needs page size information, pass
that too as a parameter.
Extract prototypes to a separate file. Move loader.[ch] and elf_ops.h under hw.
Adjust callers. Also use target_phys_addr_t instead of target_ulong for
addresses: loader addresses aren't virtual.

Add the parameter 'order' to qemu_register_reset and sort callbacks on
registration. On system reset, callbacks with lower order will be
invoked before those with higher order. Update all existing users to the
standard order 0.
Note: At least for x86, the existing users seem to assume that handlers
are called in their registration order. Therefore, the patch preserves
this property. If someone feels bored, (s)he could try to identify this
dependency and express it properly on callback registration.

The vga_ram_size argument to machine init functions always has the same
value, and is ignored by many machines (including SPARC32 which has an
obsolete ifdef for VGA_RAM_SIZE).
Remove it and push VGA_RAM_SIZE into vga_int.h.

Hi all,
this patch adds a DisplayAllocator interface that allows display
frontends (sdl in particular) to provide a preallocated display buffer
for the graphical backend to use.
Whenever a graphical backend cannot use
qemu_create_displaysurface_from because its own internal pixel format
cannot be exported directly (text mode or graphical mode with color
depth 8 or 24), it creates another display buffer in memory using
qemu_create_displaysurface and does the conversion.
This new buffer needs to be blitted into the sdl surface buffer every time
we need to update portions of the screen.
We can avoid this using the DisplayAllocator interace: sdl provides its
own implementation of qemu_create_displaysurface, giving back the sdl
surface buffer directly (as we used to do before the DisplayState
changes).
Since the buffer returned by sdl could be in bgr format we need to put
back in the handlers of that case.
This approach is good if the two following conditions are true:
1) the sdl surface is a software surface that resides in main memory;
2) the host display color depth is either 16 or 32 bpp.
If first condition is false we can have bad performances using sdl
and vnc together.
If the second condition is false performances are certainly not going to
improve but they shouldn't get worse either.
The first condition is always true, at least on linux/X11 systems; but I
believe is true also on other platforms.
The second condition is true in the vast majority of the cases.
This patch should also have the good side effect of solving the sdl
2D slowness malc was reporting on MacOS, because SDL_BlitSurface is not
going to be called anymore when the guest is in text mode or 24bpp.
However the root problem is still present so I suspect we may
still see some slowness on MacOS when the guest is in 32 or 16 bpp.
