b87ac96651 cutils: Use parse_uint in qemu_strtosz for negative rejection
Rather than open-coding two different ways to check for an unwanted
negative sign, reuse the same code in both functions. That way, if we
decide down the road to accept "-0" instead of rejecting it, we have
fewer places to change. Also, it means we now get ERANGE instead of
EINVAL for negative values in qemu_strtosz, which is reasonable for
what it represents. This in turn changes the expected output of a
couple of iotests.

The change is not quite complete: negative fractional scaled values
can trip us up. This will be fixed in a later patch addressing other
issues with fractional scaled values.

cf923b783e utils: Improve qemu_strtosz() to have 64 bits of precision
We have multiple clients of qemu_strtosz (qemu-io, the opts visitor,
the keyval visitor), and it gets annoying that edge-case testing is
impacted by implicit rounding to 53 bits of precision due to parsing
with strtod(). As an example posted by Rich Jones:
 $ nbdkit memory $(( 2**63 - 2**30 )) --run \
   'build/qemu-io -f raw "$uri" -c "w -P 3 $(( 2**63 - 2**30 - 512 )) 512" '
 write failed: Input/output error

because 9223372035781033472 got rounded to 0x7fffffffc0000000 which is
out of bounds.

It is also worth noting that our existing parser, by virtue of using
strtod(), accepts decimal AND hex numbers, even though test-cutils
previously lacked any coverage of the latter until the previous patch.
We do have existing clients that expect a hex parse to work (for
example, iotest 33 using qemu-io -c "write -P 0xa 0x200 0x400"), but
strtod() parses "08" as 8 rather than as an invalid octal number, so
we know there are no clients that depend on octal. Our use of
strtod() also means that "0x1.8k" would actually parse as 1536 (the
fraction is 8/16), rather than 1843 (if the fraction were 8/10); but
as this was not covered in the testsuite, I have no qualms forbidding
hex fractions as invalid, so this patch declares that the use of
fractions is only supported with decimal input, and enhances the
testsuite to document that.

Our previous use of strtod() meant that -1 parsed as a negative; now
that we parse with strtoull(), negative values can wrap around modulo
2^64, so we have to explicitly check whether the user passed in a '-';
and make it consistent to also reject '-0'. This has the minor effect
of treating negative values as EINVAL (with no change to endptr)
rather than ERANGE (with endptr advanced to what was parsed), visible
in the updated iotest output.

We also had no testsuite coverage of "1.1e0k", which happened to parse
under strtod() but is unlikely to occur in practice; as long as we are
making things more robust, it is easy enough to reject the use of
exponents in a strtod parse.

The fix is done by breaking the parse into an integer prefix (no loss
in precision), rejecting negative values (since we can no longer rely
on strtod() to do that), determining if a decimal or hexadecimal parse
was intended (with the new restriction that a fractional hex parse is
not allowed), and where appropriate, using a floating point fractional
parse (where we also scan to reject use of exponents in the fraction).
The bulk of the patch is then updates to the testsuite to match our
new precision, as well as adding new cases we reject (whether they
were rejected or inadvertently accepted before).

975a7bd228 block: Raise an error when backing file parameter is an empty string
Providing an empty string for the backing file parameter like so:

	qemu-img create -f qcow2 -b '' /tmp/foo

allows the flow of control to reach and subsequently fail an assert
statement because passing an empty string to

	bdrv_get_full_backing_filename_from_filename()

simply results in NULL being returned without an error being raised.

To fix this, let's check for an empty string when getting the value from
the opts list.

4e2f441878 qemu-img: Flush stdout before before potential stderr messages
During 'qemu-img create ... 2>&1', if --quiet is not in force, we can
end up with buffered I/O in stdout that was produced before failure,
but which appears in output after failure. This is confusing; the fix
is to flush stdout prior to attempting anything that might produce an
error message. Several iotests demonstrate the resulting ordering
change now that the merged outputs now reflect chronology. (An even
better fix would be to avoid printf from within block.c altogether,
but that's much more invasive...)

572ad9783f qcow2: introduce compression type feature
The patch adds some preparation parts for incompatible compression type
feature to qcow2 allowing the use different compression methods for
image clusters (de)compressing.

It is implied that the compression type is set on the image creation and
can be changed only later by image conversion, thus compression type
defines the only compression algorithm used for the image, and thus,
for all image clusters.

The goal of the feature is to add support of other compression methods
to qcow2. For example, ZSTD which is more effective on compression than ZLIB.

The default compression is ZLIB. Images created with ZLIB compression type
are backward compatible with older qemu versions.

Adding of the compression type breaks a number of tests because now the
compression type is reported on image creation and there are some changes
in the qcow2 header in size and offsets.

The tests are fixed in the following ways:
    * filter out compression_type for many tests
    * fix header size, feature table size and backing file offset
      affected tests: 031, 036, 061, 080
      header_size +=8: 1 byte compression type
                       7 bytes padding
      feature_table += 48: incompatible feature compression type
      backing_file_offset += 56 (8 + 48 -> header_change + feature_table_change)
    * add "compression type" for test output matching when it isn't filtered
      affected tests: 049, 060, 061, 065, 082, 085, 144, 182, 185, 198, 206,

da7e92cac9 block: Clean up bdrv_img_create()'s error reporting
bdrv_img_create() takes an Error ** argument and uses it in the
conventional way, except for one place: when qemu_opts_do_parse()
fails, it first reports its error to stderr or the HMP monitor with
error_report_err(), then error_setg()'s a generic error.

When the caller reports that second error similarly, this produces two
consecutive error messages on stderr or the HMP monitor.

When the caller does something else with it, such as send it via QMP,
the first error still goes to stderr or the HMP monitor. Fortunately,
no such caller exists.

Simply use the first error as is. Update expected output of
qemu-iotest 049 accordingly.

b76b4f6045 qcow2: Use visitor for options in qcow2_create()
Instead of manually creating the BlockdevCreateOptions object, use a
visitor to parse the given options into the QAPI object.

This involves translation from the old command line syntax to the syntax
mandated by the QAPI schema. Option names are still checked against
qcow2_create_opts, so only the old option names are allowed on the
command line, even if they are translated in qcow2_create().

In contrast, new option values are optionally recognised besides the old
values: 'compat' accepts 'v2'/'v3' as an alias for '0.10'/'1.1', and
'encrypt.format' accepts 'qcow' as an alias for 'aes' now.

0cb8d47ba9 block: deprecate "encryption=on" in favor of "encrypt.format=aes"
Historically the qcow & qcow2 image formats supported a property
"encryption=on" to enable their built-in AES encryption. We'll
soon be supporting LUKS for qcow2, so need a more general purpose
way to enable encryption, with a choice of formats.

This introduces an "encrypt.format" option, which will later be
joined by a number of other "encrypt.XXX" options. The use of
a "encrypt." prefix instead of "encrypt-" is done to facilitate
mapping to a nested QAPI schema at later date.

e.g. the preferred syntax is now

  qemu-img create -f qcow2 -o encrypt.format=aes demo.qcow2

e6ff69bf5e block: move encryption deprecation warning into qcow code
For a couple of releases we have been warning

  Encrypted images are deprecated
Support for them will be removed in a future release.
You can use 'qemu-img convert' to convert your image to an unencrypted one.

This warning was issued by system emulators, qemu-img, qemu-nbd
and qemu-io. Such a broad warning was issued because the original
intention was to rip out all the code for dealing with encryption
inside the QEMU block layer APIs.

The new block encryption framework used for the LUKS driver does
not rely on the unloved block layer API for encryption keys,
instead using the QOM 'secret' object type. It is thus no longer
appropriate to warn about encryption unconditionally.

When the qcow/qcow2 drivers are converted to use the new encryption
framework too, it will be practical to keep AES-CBC support present
for use in qemu-img, qemu-io & qemu-nbd to allow for interoperability
with older QEMU versions and liberation of data from existing encrypted
qcow2 files.

This change moves the warning out of the generic block code and
into the qcow/qcow2 drivers. Further, the warning is set to only
appear when running the system emulators, since qemu-img, qemu-io,
qemu-nbd are expected to support qcow2 encryption long term now that
the maint burden has been eliminated.

== Confusing startup ==

When no image is encrypted, and you don't give -S, QEMU starts the
guest immediately:

$ qemu-system-x86_64 -nodefaults -display none -monitor stdio normal.qcow2
QEMU 2.2.50 monitor - type 'help' for more information
    (qemu) info status

But as soon as there's an encrypted image in play, the guest is *not*
started, with no notification whatsoever:

$ qemu-system-x86_64 -nodefaults -display none -monitor stdio geheim.qcow2
QEMU 2.2.50 monitor - type 'help' for more information
    (qemu) info status
    VM status: paused (prelaunch)

If the user figured out that he needs to type "cont" to enter his
keys, the confusion enters the next level: "cont" asks for at most
*one* key. If more are needed, it then silently does nothing. The
user has to type "cont" once per encrypted image:

$ qemu-system-x86_64 -nodefaults -display none -monitor stdio -drive if=none,file=geheim.qcow2 -drive if=none,file=geheim.qcow2

== Incorrect passwords not caught ==

All existing encryption schemes give you the GIGO treatment: garbage
password in, garbage data out. Guests usually refuse to mount
garbage, but other usage is prone to data loss.

== Need to stop the guest to add an encrypted image ==

$ qemu-system-x86_64 -nodefaults -display none -monitor stdio

    (qemu) stop
    (qemu) drive_add "" if=none,file=geheim.qcow2
    OK

Commit c3adb58 added this restriction. Before, we could expose images
lacking an encryption key to guests, with potentially catastrophic
results. See also "Use without key is not always caught".

= Bugs =

== Use without key is not always caught ==

Encrypted images can be in an intermediate state "opened, but no key".
The weird startup behavior and the need to stop the guest are there to
ensure the guest isn't exposed to that state. But other things still

This stuff is worse than useless, it's a trap for users.

If people become sufficiently interested in encrypted images to
contribute a cryptographically sane implementation for QCOW2 (or
whatever other format), then rewriting the necessary support around it
from scratch will likely be easier and yield better results than
fixing up the existing mess.

Let's deprecate the mess now, drop it after a grace period, and move
on.

06d05fa738 qcow2: Allow creation with refcount order != 4
Add a creation option to qcow2 for setting the refcount order of images
to be created, and respect that option's value.

This breaks some test outputs, fix them.

Change block layer to support both QemuOpts and QEMUOptionParameter.
After this patch, it will change backend drivers one by one. At the end,
QEMUOptionParameter will be removed and only QemuOpts is kept.

2c78857bf6 qemu-iotests: Adjustments due to error propagation
When opening/creating images, propagating errors instead of immediately
emitting them on occurrence results in errors generally being printed on
a single line rather than being split up into multiple ones. This in
turn requires adjustments to some test results.

Also, test 060 used a sed to filter out the test image directory and
format by removing everything from the affected line after a certain
keyword; this now also removes the error message itself, which can be
fixed by using _filter_testdir and _filter_imgfmt.

Finally, _make_test_img in common.rc did not filter out the test image
directory etc. from stderr. This has been fixed through a redirection of
stderr to stdout (which is already done in _check_test_img and
_img_info).

4dc9f9d67d qemu-iotests: Test qcow2 image creation options
Just create lots of images and try out each of the creation options that
qcow2 provides (except backing_file/fmt for now)

I'm not totally happy with the behaviour of qemu-img in each of the
cases, but let's be explicit and update the test when we do change
things later.
