785abf0dcf meson.build: Remove the logic to link C code with the C++ linker
We are not mixing C++ with C code anymore, the only remaining
C++ code in qga/vss-win32/ is used for a plain C++ executable.
Thus we can remove the hacks for linking C code with the C++ linker
now to simplify meson.build a little bit, and also to avoid that
some C++ code sneaks in by accident again.

91a2e6882a meson: fix rule for qemu-ga installer
The bindir variable is not available in the "glib" variable, which is an internal
dependency (created with "declare_dependency"). Use glib_pc instead, which contains
the variable as it is instantiated from glib-2.0.pc.

9ca180bce1 qga-win: choose the right libpcre version to include in MSI package
According to GLib changelog [1], since version 2.73.2 GLib is using
libpcre2 instead of libpcre. As a result, qemu-ga MSI installation
fails due to missing DLL when linked with the newer GLib.

This commit makes wixl to put the right libpcre version into the MSI
bundle: either libpcre-1.dll or libpcre2-8-0.dll, depending on the
present version of GLib.

f9f0e6173e qga-win: add logging to Windows event log
This commit allows QGA to write to Windows event log using Win32 API's
ReportEvent() [1], much like syslog() under *nix guests.

In order to generate log message definitions we use a very basic message
text file [2], so that every QGA's message gets ID 1. The tools
"windmc" and "windres" respectively are used to generate ".rc" file and
COFF object file, and then the COFF file is linked into qemu-ga.exe.

8a29c20597 meson: require 0.61.3
This removes the dependency of dbus-display on --enable-modules. It also allows
cleanups in modinfo collection and allows moving C++ compiler detection to
meson.build.

Because it is now deprecated to use install_subdir to create an empty directory,
replace it with install_emptydir.

Updating the Meson submodule to 0.61.5 also removes the message

WARNING: Broken python installation detected. Python files installed
by Meson might not be found by python interpreter.

unless using system meson is forced with --meson.

0edbfbe31c qga: add qga_open_cloexec() helper
QGA calls qemu_open_old() in various places. Calling qemu_open() instead

8821a389b1 configure, meson: replace VSS SDK checks and options with --enable-vss-sdk
The VSS headers are part of standard MS VS SDK, at least since version
15, and probably before that.

They are also included with MinGW, although currently broken.

Let's streamline a bit the options, by not making it so special, and
instead rely on proper system headers configuration or user
--extra-cxxflags. This still requires some extra step to cross-build
with MinGW as described in the meson.build file now.

761a1a488e qapi: generate trace events by default
We don't generate trace events for tests/ and qga/ because that it is
not simple and not necessary. We have corresponding comments in both
tests/meson.build and qga/meson.build.

Still to not miss possible future qapi code generation call, and not to
forget to enable trace events generation, let's enable it by default.
So, turn option --gen-trace into opposite --no-trace-events and use new
option only in tests/ and qga/ where we already have good comments why
we don't generate trace events code.

Note that this commit enables trace-events generation for qapi-gen.py
call from tests/qapi-schema/meson.build and storage-daemon/meson.build.
Still, both are kind of noop: tests/qapi-schema/ doesn't seem to
generate any QMP command code and no .trace-events files anyway,
storage-daemon/ uses common QMP command implementations and just
generate empty .trace-events

378dfa482d meson: document why we don't generate trace events for tests/ and qga/
Making trace generation work for tests/ and qga/ would involve some
Meson hackery to ensure we generate the trace-events files before

Add new commands to add and remove SSH public keys from

I took a different approach for testing, including the unit tests right
with the code. I wanted to overwrite the function to get the user
details, I couldn't easily do that over QMP. Furthermore, I prefer
having unit tests very close to the code, and unit files that are domain
specific (commands-posix is too crowded already). FWIW, that
coding/testing style is Rust-style (where tests can or should even be
part of the documentation!).
