In the past, commit a231cb27 ("iotests: Fix 104 for NBD", v2.3.0)
added an additional filter to _filter_img_info to rewrite NBD URIs
into the expected output form. This recently broke when we tweaked
tests to run in a per-format directory, which did not match the regex,
because _img_info itself is now already changing
SOCK_DIR=/tmp/tmpphjfbphd/raw-nbd-104 into
/tmp/tmpphjfbphd/IMGFMT-nbd-104 prior to _img_info_filter getting a
chance to further filter things.
While diagnosing the problem, I also noticed some filter lines
rendered completely useless by a typo when we switched from TCP to
Unix sockets for NBD (in shell, '\\+' is different from "\\+" (one
gives two backslash to the regex, matching the literal 2-byte sequence
<\+> after a single digit; the other gives one backslash to the regex,
as the metacharacter \+ to match one or more of <[0-9]>); since the
literal string <nbd://127.0.0.1:0\+> is not a valid URI, that regex
hasn't been matching anything for years so it is fine to just drop it
rather than fix the typo.

Instead of failing the iotests if GNU sed is not available (or skipping
them completely in the check-block.sh script), it would be better to
simply skip the bash-based tests that rely on GNU sed, so that the other
tests could still be run. Thus we now explicitely use "gsed" (either as
direct program or as a wrapper around "sed" if it's the GNU version)
in the spots that rely on the GNU sed behavior. Statements that use the
"-r" parameter of sed have been switched to use "-E" instead, since this
switch is supported by all sed versions on our supported build hosts
(most also support "-r", but macOS' sed only supports "-E"). With all
these changes in place, we then can also remove the sed checks from the
check-block.sh script, so that "make check-block" can now be run on
systems without GNU sed, too.

Not only is it a bit stupid to try to filter multi-line "Formatting"
output (because we only need it for a single test, which can easily be
amended to no longer need it), it is also problematic when there can be
output after a "Formatting" line that we do not want to filter as if it
were part of it.
So rename _filter_img_create to _do_filter_img_create, let it filter
only a single line, and let _filter_img_create loop over all input
lines, calling _do_filter_img_create only on those that match
/^Formatting/ (basically, what _filter_img_create_in_qmp did already).

Right now, _filter_img_create just filters out everything that looks
format-dependent, and applies some filename filters. That means that we
have to add another filter line every time some format gets a new
creation option. This can be avoided by instead discarding everything
and just keeping what we know is format-independent (format, size,
backing file, encryption information[1], preallocation) or just
interesting to have in the reference output (external data file path).
Furthermore, we probably want to sort these options. Format drivers are
not required to define them in any specific order, so the output is
effectively random (although this has never bothered us until now). We
need a specific order for our reference outputs, though. Unfortunately,
just using a plain "sort" would change a lot of existing reference
outputs, so we have to pre-filter the option keys to keep our existing
order (fmt, size, backing*, data, encryption info, preallocation).
Finally, this makes it difficult for _filter_img_create to automagically
work for QMP output. Thus, this patch adds a separate
_filter_img_create_for_qmp function that echos every line verbatim that
does not start with "Formatting", and pipes those "Formatting" lines to
_filter_img_create.
[1] Actually, the only thing that is really important is whether
encryption is enabled or not. A patch by Maxim thus removes all
other "encrypt.*" options from the output:
https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-block/2020-06/msg00339.html
But that patch needs to come later so we can get away with changing
as few reference outputs in this patch here as possible.

We check only that the first 512 bytes are zeroed (instead of 64k)
because some image formats create image files that are smaller than 64k,
so trying to read 64k would result in I/O errors. Apart from this, 512
is more appropriate anyway because the raw format driver protects

The patch adds some preparation parts for incompatible compression type
feature to qcow2 allowing the use different compression methods for
image clusters (de)compressing.
It is implied that the compression type is set on the image creation and
can be changed only later by image conversion, thus compression type
defines the only compression algorithm used for the image, and thus,
for all image clusters.
The goal of the feature is to add support of other compression methods
to qcow2. For example, ZSTD which is more effective on compression than ZLIB.
The default compression is ZLIB. Images created with ZLIB compression type
are backward compatible with older qemu versions.
Adding of the compression type breaks a number of tests because now the
compression type is reported on image creation and there are some changes
in the qcow2 header in size and offsets.
The tests are fixed in the following ways:
* filter out compression_type for many tests
* fix header size, feature table size and backing file offset

header_size +=8: 1 byte compression type
7 bytes padding
feature_table += 48: incompatible feature compression type

A warning is printed when the main loop spins without releasing BQL for

Add a test for qcow2 copy-on-read behavior, including exposure
for the just-fixed bugs.
The copy-on-read behavior is always to a qcow2 image, but the
test is careful to allow running with most image protocol/format
combos as the backing file being copied from (luks being the
exception, as it is harder to pass the right secret to all the
right places). In fact, for './check nbd', this appears to be
the first time we've had a qcow2 image wrapping NBD, requiring
an additional line in _filter_img_create to match the similar
line in _filter_img_info.
Invoking blkdebug to prove we don't write too much took some
effort to get working; and it requires that $TEST_WRAP (based
on $TEST_DIR) not be subject to word splitting. We may decide
later to have the entire iotests suite use relative rather than
absolute names, to avoid problems inherited by the absolute
name of $PWD or $TEST_DIR, at which point the sanity check in
this commit could be simplified.
This test requires at least 2G of consecutive memory to succeed;
as such, it is prone to spurious failures, particularly on
32-bit machines under load. This situation is detected and
triggers an early exit to skip the test, rather than a failure.
To manually provoke this setup on a beefier machine, I used:

are unchanged before and after an operation).
Another justification for this patch is that it will allow a future
patch to utilize 'qemu-img map --output=json' to check the status of
preallocated zero clusters without regards to the mapping (since
the qcow2 mapping can be very sensitive to the chosen cluster size,
when preallocation is not in use).

Mirror calculates job len from current I/O progress:
s->common.len = s->common.offset +
(cnt + s->sectors_in_flight) * BDRV_SECTOR_SIZE;
The final "len" of a failed mirror job in iotests 109 depends on the
subtle timing of the completion of read and write issued in the first
mirror iteration. The second iteration may or may not have run when the
I/O error happens, resulting in non-deterministic output of the
BLOCK_JOB_COMPLETED event text.
Similar to what was done in a752e4786, filter out the field to make the
test robust.

The only thing the escape characters achieve is making the reference
output unreadable and lines that are potentially so long that git

The driver has failed to build since commit da34e65, in qemu 2.6,
due to a missing include of qapi/error.h for error_setg().
Since no one has complained in three releases, it is easier to
remove the dead code than to keep it around, especially since it
is not being built by default and therefore prone to bitrot.

If TEST_DIR is set to /tmp, test case 144 will fail. The reason is that
TEST_DIR resembles 144's test image name tmp.qcow2.
When 144 is testing $TEST_DIR/tmp.qcow2, it wants to replace
$TEST_DIR/tmp.qcow2 to TEST_DIR/tmp.qcow2, but actually it will fail
and get TEST_DIRTEST_DIR.qcow2 in this case.
The fix is just to modify the code to replace $TEST_DIR/ with TEST_DIR/.

This patch adds a basic dd subcommand analogous to dd(1) to qemu-img.
For the start, this implements the bs, if, of and count options and requires
both if and of to be specified (no stdin/stdout if not specified) and doesn't
support tty, pipes, etc.
The image format must be specified with -O for the output if the raw format
is not the intended one.
Two tests are added to test qemu-img dd.

109 iotest is broken for raw after 0965a41e99
[mirror: double performance of the bulk stage if the disc is full]
The problem is with finishing block-job with error: before specified
patch mirror was not very async and it created one big request at disk
start, this request finished with error and qemu produced
BLOCK_JOB_COMPLETED with zero progress.
After 0965a41, mirror starts several smaller requests in parallel, when
BLOCK_JOB_COMPLETED emited we have some successful non-zero progress.
This patch solves the issue by filtering out progress from 109 test
output.

The LUKS block driver tests will require the ability to specify
encryption secrets with block devices. This requires using the
--object argument to qemu-img/qemu-io to create a 'secret'
object.
When the IMGKEYSECRET env variable is set, it provides the
password to be associated with a secret called 'keysec0'
The _qemu_img_wrapper function isn't modified as that needs
to cope with differing syntax for subcommands, so can't be
made to use the image opts syntax unconditionally.
