Yubo Miao 37d5c0a8ff acpi: Extract crs build form acpi_build.c
Extract crs build form acpi_build.c, the function could also be used
to build the crs for pxbs for arm. The resources are composed by two parts:
1. The bar space of pci-bridge/pcie-root-ports
2. The resources needed by devices behind PXBs.
The base and limit of memory/io are obtained from the config via two APIs:
pci_bridge_get_base and pci_bridge_get_limit

Philippe Mathieu-Daudé 811c74fb65 hw/i386/acpi-build: Fix maybe-uninitialized error when ACPI hotplug off
GCC 9.3.0 thinks that 'method' can be left uninitialized. This code
is already in the "if (bsel || pcihp_bridge_en)" block statement,
but it isn't smart enough to figure it out.

Restrict the code to be used only in the "if (bsel || pcihp_bridge_en)"
block statement to fix (on Ubuntu):

Ben Widawsky 9390255468 acpi/crs: Support ranges > 32b for hosts
According to PCIe spec 5.0 Type 1 header space Base Address Registers
are defined by 7.5.1.2.1 Base Address Registers (same as Type 0). The
_CRS region should allow for the same range (up to 64b). Prior to this
change, any host bridge utilizing more than 32b for the BAR would have
the address truncated and likely lead to conflicts when the operating
systems reads the _CRS object.

Ben Widawsky acab9d8a9e acpi/crs: Prevent bad ranges for host bridges
Prevent _CRS resources being quietly chopped off and instead throw an
assertion. _CRS is used by host bridges to declare regions of io and/or
memory that they consume. On some (all?) platforms the host bridge
doesn't have PCI header space and so they need some way to convey the
information.

Ani Sinha df4008c9c5 piix4: don't reserve hw resources when hotplug is off globally
When acpi hotplug is turned off for both root pci bus as well as for pci
bridges, we should not generate the related ACPI code for DSDT table or
initialize related hw ports or reserve hw resources. This change makes
sure all those operations are turned off in the case ACPI pci hotplug is
off globally.

In this change, we also make sure ACPI code for the PCNT method are only
added when bsel is enabled for the corresponding pci bus or bridge hotplug
is turned on.

As q35 machines do not use bsel for it's pci buses at this point in time, this
change affects DSDT acpi table for q35 machines as well. Therefore, we will
also need to commit the updated golden master DSDT table acpi binary blobs as
well. Following is the list of blobs which needs updating:

Ani Sinha 15a5b25408 i440fx/acpi: do not add hotplug related amls for cold plugged bridges
Cold plugged bridges are not hot unpluggable, even when their hotplug
property (acpi-pci-hotplug-with-bridge-support) is turned off. Please see
the function acpi_pcihp_pc_no_hotplug(). However, with
the current implementaton, Windows would try to hot-unplug a pci bridge when
it's hotplug switch is off. This is regardless of whether there are devices
attached to the bridge. This is because we add ACPI code like _EJ0 etc for the
pci slot where the bridge is cold plugged.

In this fix, we identify a cold plugged bridge and for cold plugged bridges,
we do not add the appropriate ACPI methods that are used by the OS
to identify a hot-pluggable/unpluggable pci device. After this change, Windows
does not detect the cold plugged pci bridge as ejectable.

Igor Mammedov 998ba95016 x86: acpi: introduce the PCI0.SMI0 ACPI device
When CPU hotplug with SMI has been negotiated, describe the SMI
register block in the DSDT. Pass the ACPI name of the SMI control
register to build_cpus_aml(), so that CPU_SCAN_METHOD can access the
register in the next patch.

Michael S. Tsirkin af1b80ae56 i386/acpi: fix inconsistent QEMU/OVMF device paths
macOS uses ACPI UIDs to build the DevicePath for NVRAM boot options,
while OVMF firmware gets them via an internal channel through QEMU.
Due to a bug in QEMU ACPI currently UEFI firmware and ACPI have
different values, and this makes the underlying operating system
unable to report its boot option.

The particular node in question is the primary PciRoot (PCI0 in ACPI),
which for some reason gets assigned 1 in ACPI UID and 0 in the
DevicePath. This is due to the _UID assigned to it by build_dsdt in
hw/i386/acpi-build.c Which does not correspond to the primary PCI
identifier given by pcibus_num in hw/pci/pci.c

In UEFI v2.8, section "10.4.2 Rules with ACPI _HID and _UID" ends with
the paragraph,

    Root PCI bridges will use the plug and play ID of PNP0A03, This will
    be stored in the ACPI Device Path _HID field, or in the Expanded
    ACPI Device Path _CID field to match the ACPI name space. The _UID
    in the ACPI Device Path structure must match the _UID in the ACPI
    name space.

(See especially the last sentence.)

Considering *extra* root bridges / root buses (with bus number > 0),
QEMU's ACPI generator actually does the right thing; since QEMU commit
c96d9286a6 ("i386/acpi-build: more traditional _UID and _HID for PXB
root buses", 2015-06-11).

However, the _UID values for root bridge zero (on both i440fx and q35)
have always been "wrong" (from UEFI perspective), going back in QEMU to
commit 74523b8501 ("i386: add ACPI table files from seabios",
2013-10-14).

Even in SeaBIOS, these _UID values have always been 1; see commit
a4d357638c57 ("Port rombios32 code from bochs-bios.", 2008-03-08) for
i440fx, and commit ecbe3fd61511 ("seabios: q35: add dsdt", 2012-12-01)
for q35.

Jon Doron 6775d15de1 i386: Hyper-V VMBus ACPI DSDT entry
Guest OS uses ACPI to discover VMBus presence.  Add a corresponding
entry to DSDT in case VMBus has been enabled.

Experimentally Windows guests were found to require this entry to
include two IRQ resources. They seem to never be used but they still
have to be there.

Make IRQ numbers user-configurable via corresponding properties; use 7
and 13 by default.

NVDIMMs can belong to their own proximity domains, as described by the
NFIT. In such cases, the SRAT needs to have Memory Affinity structures
in the SRAT for these NVDIMMs, otherwise Linux doesn't populate node
data structures properly during NUMA initialization. See the following

Liran Alon 14cda3503d acpi: Add Windows ACPI Emulated Device Table (WAET)
Microsoft introduced this ACPI table to avoid Windows guests performing
various workarounds for device erratas. As the virtual device emulated
by VMM may not have the errata.

Currently, WAET allows hypervisor to inform guest about two
specific behaviors: One for RTC and the other for ACPI PM timer.

Support for WAET have been introduced since Windows Vista. This ACPI
table is also exposed by other common hypervisors by default, including:
VMware, GCP and AWS.

This patch adds WAET ACPI Table to QEMU.

We set "ACPI PM timer good" bit in "Emualted Device Flags" field to
indicate that the ACPI PM timer has been enhanced to not require
multiple reads to obtain a reliable value.
This results in improving the performance of Windows guests that use
ACPI PM timer by avoiding unnecessary VMExits caused by these multiple
reads.

Kwangwoo Lee 5c94b82662 nvdimm: Use configurable ACPI IO base and size
This patch makes IO base and size configurable to create NPIO AML for
ACPI NFIT. Since a different architecture like AArch64 does not use

Corey Minyard aefcaf9d1b i386:acpi: Remove _HID from the SMBus ACPI entry
Per the ACPI spec (version 6.1, section 6.1.5 _HID) it is not required
on enumerated buses (like PCI in this case), _ADR is required (and is
already there).  And the _HID value is wrong.  Linux appears to ignore
the _HID entry, but Windows 10 detects it as 'Unknown Device' and there

HMAT is defined in ACPI 6.3: 5.2.27 Heterogeneous Memory Attribute Table
(HMAT). The specification references below link:

It describes the memory attributes, such as memory side cache
attributes and bandwidth and latency details, related to the
Memory Proximity Domain. The software is
expected to use this information as hint for optimization.

This structure describes Memory Proximity Domain Attributes by memory
subsystem and its associativity with processor proximity domain as well as
hint for memory usage.

In the linux kernel, the codes in drivers/acpi/hmat/hmat.c parse and report
the platform's HMAT tables.

Alex Williamson 977aff1045 hw/i386: AMD-Vi IVRS DMA alias support
When we account for DMA aliases in the PCI address space, we can no
longer use a single IVHD entry in the IVRS covering all devices.  We
instead need to walk the PCI bus and create alias ranges when we find
a conventional bus.  These alias ranges cannot overlap with a "Select
All" range (as currently implemented), so we also need to enumerate
each device with IVHD entries.

Importantly, the IVHD entries used here include a Device ID, which is
simply the PCI BDF (Bus/Device/Function).  The guest firmware is
responsible for programming bus numbers, so the final revision of this
table depends on the update mechanism (acpi_build_update) to be called
after guest PCI enumeration.

Shameer Kolothum 091c466e26 hw/acpi: Make ACPI IO address space configurable
This is in preparation for adding support for ARM64 platforms
where it doesn't use port mapped IO for ACPI IO space. We are
making changes so that MMIO region can be accommodated
and board can pass the base address into the aml build function.

Also move few MEMORY_* definitions to header so that other memory
hotplug event signalling mechanisms (eg. Generic Event Device on
HW-reduced acpi platforms) can use the same from their respective
event handler code.

Corey Minyard ebe15582ca pc: Add an SMB0 ACPI device to q35
This is so I2C devices can be found in the ACPI namespace.  Currently
that's only IPMI, but devices can be easily added now.

Adding the devices required some PCI information, and the bus itself
to be added to the PCMachineState structure.

Note that this only works on Q35, the ACPI for PIIX4 is not capable
of handling an SMBus device.

In my "build everything" tree, changing migration/vmstate.h triggers a
recompile of some 2700 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and
objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).

hw/hw.h supposedly includes it for convenience.  Several other headers
include it just to get VMStateDescription.  The previous commit made
that unnecessary.

Include migration/vmstate.h only where it's still needed.  Touching it
now recompiles only some 1600 objects.

Evgeny Yakovlev 21e2acd583 i386/acpi: fix gint overflow in crs_range_compare
When very large regions (32GB sized in our case, PCI pass-through of GPUs)
are compared substraction result does not fit into gint.

As a result crs_replace_with_free_ranges does not get sorted ranges and
incorrectly computes PCI64 free space regions. Which then makes linux
guest complain about device and PCI64 hole intersection and device
becomes unusable.

Fix that by returning exactly fitting ranges.

Also fix indentation of an entire crs_replace_with_free_ranges to make
checkpatch happy.

To avoid calling qdev_get_machine() as much as possible, some related funtions
for acpi data generations are refactored. No semantic changes.

A local variable of the same name would be introduced in the declaration
phase if it's used widely in the context OR replace it on the spot if it's
only used once. No semantic changes.

Gerd Hoffmann 4a4418369d q35: fix mmconfig and PCI0._CRS
This patch changes the handling of the mmconfig area.  Thanks to the
pci(e) expander devices we already have the logic to exclude address
ranges from PCI0._CRS.  We can simply add the mmconfig address range
to the list get it excluded as well.

With that in place we can go with a fixed pci hole which covers the
whole area from the end of (low) ram to the ioapic.

This will make the whole logic alot less fragile.  No matter where the
firmware places the mmconfig xbar, things should work correctly.  The
guest also gets a bit more PCI address space (seabios boot):

Igor Mammedov fe4970ad46 q35: acpi: do not create dummy MCFG table
Dummy table (with signature "QEMU") creation came from original SeaBIOS
codebase. And QEMU would have to keep it around if there were Q35 machine
that depended on keeping ACPI tables blob constant size. Luckily there
were no versioned Q35 machine types before commit:
  (since 2.3) a1666142db acpi-build: make ROMs RAM blocks resizeable
which obsoleted need to keep ACPI tables blob the same size on source/destination.

Considering the 1st versioned machine is pc-q35-2.4, the dummy table
is not really necessary and it's safe to drop it without breaking
cross version migration in both directions unconditionally.

This is due to a dependency in acpi-build.c on the ICH9_LPC
(via ich9_lpc_find) and PIIX4_PM (via piix4_pm_find) devices.

To allow better modularity (compile acpi-build.c with only
Q35/ICH9 or ISAPC/PIIX4), refactor the similar helper as
object_resolve_type_unambiguous(). This way we relax the
linker dependencies and can build the x86 targets with a
selection of machines (instead of all of them).

Eric Auger f6a0d06ba7 machine: Move nvdimms state into struct MachineState
As NVDIMM support is looming for ARM and SPAPR, let's
move the acpi_nvdimm_state to the generic machine struct
instead of duplicating the same code in several machines.
It is also renamed into nvdimms_state and becomes a pointer.

nvdimm and nvdimm-persistence become generic machine options.
They become guarded by a nvdimm_supported machine class member.
We also add a description for those options.

Stefan Berger ac6dd31e3f acpi: build TPM Physical Presence interface
The TPM Physical Presence interface consists of an ACPI part, a shared
memory part, and code in the firmware. Users can send messages to the
firmware by writing a code into the shared memory through invoking the
ACPI code. When a reboot happens, the firmware looks for the code and
acts on it by sending sequences of commands to the TPM.

This patch adds the ACPI code. It is similar to the one in EDK2 but doesn't
assume that SMIs are necessary to use. It uses a similar datastructure for
the shared memory as EDK2 does so that EDK2 and SeaBIOS could both make use
of it. I extended the shared memory data structure with an array of 256
bytes, one for each code that could be implemented. The array contains
flags describing the individual codes. This decouples the ACPI implementation
from the firmware implementation.

Igor Mammedov 3bb3006a63 hw: i386: Use correct RSDT length for checksum
AcpiRsdpDescriptor describes revision 2 RSDP table so using sizeof(*rsdp)
for checksum calculation isn't correct since we are adding extra 16 bytes.
But acpi_data_push() zeroes out table, so just by luck we are summing up
exta zeros which still yelds correct checksum.

Fix it up by explicitly stating table size instead of using
pointer arithmetics on stucture.

PS:
Extra 16 bytes are still wasted, but droping them will break migration
for machines older than 2.3 due to size mismatch, for 2.3 and older it's
not an issue since they are using resizable memory regions (a1666142d)
for ACPI blobs. So keep wasting memory to avoid breaking old machines.

Singh, Brijesh 12499b2331 x86_iommu/amd: Enable Guest virtual APIC support
Now that amd-iommu support interrupt remapping, enable the GASup in IVRS
table and GASup in extended feature register to indicate that IOMMU
support guest virtual APIC mode. GASup provides option to guest OS to
make use of 128-bit IRTE.

Note that the GAMSup is set to zero to indicate that amd-iommu does not
support guest virtual APIC mode (aka AVIC) which would be used for the
nested VMs.

Igor Mammedov dbb6da8ba7 pc: acpi: revert back to 1 SRAT entry for hotpluggable area
Commit
  10efd7e108 "pc: acpi: fix memory hotplug regression by reducing stub SRAT entry size"
attemped to fix hotplug regression introduced by
  848a1cc1e "hw/acpi-build: build SRAT memory affinity structures for DIMM devices"

fixed issue for Windows/3.0+ linux kernels, however it regressed 2.6 based
kernels (RHEL6) to the point where guest might crash at boot.
Reason is that 2.6 kernel discards SRAT table due too small last entry
which down the road leads to crashes. Hack I've tried in 10efd7e108 is also
not ACPI spec compliant according to which whole possible RAM should be
described in SRAT. Revert 10efd7e108 to fix regression for 2.6 based kernels.

With 10efd7e108 reverted, I've also tried splitting SRAT table statically
in different ways %/node and %/slot but Windows still fails to online
2nd pc-dimm hot-plugged into node 0 (as described in 10efd7e108) and
sometimes even coldplugged pc-dimms where affected with static SRAT
partitioning.
The only known so far way where Windows stays happy is when we have 1
SRAT entry in the last node covering all hotplug area.

Revert 848a1cc1e until we come up with a way to avoid regression
on Windows with hotplug area split in several entries.
Tested this with 2.6/3.0 based kernels (RHEL6/7) and WS20[08/12/12R2/16]).

David Hildenbrand b0c14ec4ef machine: make MemoryHotplugState accessible via the machine
Let's allow to query the MemoryHotplugState directly from the machine.
If the pointer is NULL, the machine does not support memory devices. If
the pointer is !NULL, the machine supports memory devices and the
data structure contains information about the applicable physical
guest address space region.

This allows us to generically detect if a certain machine has support
for memory devices, and to generically manage it (find free address
range, plug/unplug a memory region).

We will rename "MemoryHotplugState" to something more meaningful
("DeviceMemory") after we completed factoring out the pc-dimm code into
MemoryDevice code.

David Hildenbrand 2cc0e2e814 pc-dimm: factor out MemoryDevice interface
On the qmp level, we already have the concept of memory devices:
    "query-memory-devices"
Right now, we only support NVDIMM and PCDIMM.

We want to map other devices later into the address space of the guest.
Such device could e.g. be virtio devices. These devices will have a
guest memory range assigned but won't be exposed via e.g. ACPI. We want
to make them look like memory device, but not glued to pc-dimm.

Especially, it will not always be possible to have TYPE_PC_DIMM as a parent
class (e.g. virtio devices). Let's use an interface instead. As a first
part, convert handling of
- qmp_pc_dimm_device_list
- get_plugged_memory_size
to our new model. plug/unplug stuff etc. will follow later.

A memory device will have to provide the following functions:
- get_addr(): Necessary, as the property "addr" can e.g. not be used for
              virtio devices (already defined).
- get_plugged_size(): The amount this device offers to the guest as of
                      now.
- get_region_size(): Because this can later on be bigger than the
                     plugged size.
- fill_device_info(): Fill MemoryDeviceInfo, e.g. for qmp.

Marc-André Lureau cb3e7f08ae qobject: Replace qobject_incref/QINCREF qobject_decref/QDECREF
Now that we can safely call QOBJECT() on QObject * as well as its
subtypes, we can have macros qobject_ref() / qobject_unref() that work
everywhere instead of having to use QINCREF() / QDECREF() for QObject
and qobject_incref() / qobject_decref() for its subtypes.

The replacement is mechanical, except I broke a long line, and added a
cast in monitor_qmp_cleanup_req_queue_locked().  Unlike
qobject_decref(), qobject_unref() doesn't accept void *.

Note that the new macros evaluate their argument exactly once, thus no
need to shout them.

Haozhong Zhang 848a1cc1e8 hw/acpi-build: build SRAT memory affinity structures for DIMM devices
ACPI 6.2A Table 5-129 "SPA Range Structure" requires the proximity
domain of a NVDIMM SPA range must match with corresponding entry in
SRAT table.

The address ranges of vNVDIMM in QEMU are allocated from the
hot-pluggable address space, which is entirely covered by one SRAT
memory affinity structure. However, users can set the vNVDIMM
proximity domain in NFIT SPA range structure by the 'node' property of
'-device nvdimm' to a value different than the one in the above SRAT
memory affinity structure.

In order to solve such proximity domain mismatch, this patch builds
one SRAT memory affinity structure for each DIMM device present at
boot time, including both PC-DIMM and NVDIMM, with the proximity
domain specified in '-device pc-dimm' or '-device nvdimm'.

The remaining hot-pluggable address space is covered by one or multiple
SRAT memory affinity structures with the proximity domain of the last
node as before.

Igor Mammedov 8612f8bd9f acpi: move build_fadt() from i386 specific to generic ACPI source
It will be extended and reused by follow up patch for ARM target.

PS:
Since it's generic function now, don't patch FIRMWARE_CTRL, DSDT
fields if they don't point to tables since platform might not
provide them and use X_ variants instead if applicable.

Igor Mammedov 5d7a334f7c pc: acpi: use build_append_foo() API to construct FADT
build_append_foo() API doesn't need explicit endianness
conversions which eliminates a source of errors and
it makes build_fadt() look like declarative definition of
FADT table in ACPI spec, which makes it easy to review.
Also it allows easily extending FADT to support other
revisions which will be used by follow up patches
where build_fadt() will be reused for ARM target.
