From 1aaca5f29069a05e1aed73e33dd314c069fde756 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Steven Allen Date: Sat, 19 Nov 2016 09:53:54 -0800 Subject: [PATCH] Add a method for setting permissions directly on an open file. On unix like systems, the underlying file corresponding to any given path may change at any time. This function makes it possible to set the permissions of the a file corresponding to a `File` object even if its path changes. --- src/libstd/fs.rs | 53 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ src/libstd/sys/unix/fs.rs | 5 ++++ src/libstd/sys/windows/c.rs | 9 ++++++ src/libstd/sys/windows/fs.rs | 18 ++++++++++++ 4 files changed, 85 insertions(+) diff --git a/src/libstd/fs.rs b/src/libstd/fs.rs index df5741d00a2..e91e808c548 100644 --- a/src/libstd/fs.rs +++ b/src/libstd/fs.rs @@ -348,6 +348,41 @@ impl File { inner: self.inner.duplicate()? }) } + + /// Changes the permissions on the underlying file. + /// + /// # Platform-specific behavior + /// + /// This function currently corresponds to the `fchmod` function on Unix and + /// the `SetFileInformationByHandle` function on Windows.
