Joel Brobecker 61baf725ec update copyright year range in GDB files
This applies the second part of GDB's End of Year Procedure, which
updates the copyright year range in all of GDB's files.

The cause is that we want to access some builtin types in gdbarch init, but
it is not initialized yet. I fix it by creating the type when it is to be
used. We've already done this in sparc, sparc64 and m68k.

Yao Qi 04180708ef Remove GDBARCH_BREAKPOINT_MANIPULATION and SET_GDBARCH_BREAKPOINT_MANIPULATION
Both of them are used in conversion. We can remove them since the
conversion is done.

There are many architectures only have one breakpoint instruction,
so their gdbarch methods breakpoint_kind_from_pc and
sw_breakpoint_from_kind look very similar. Instead of macro, we
use template "template <size_t, const gdb_byte *> struct bp_manipulation"
for these architectures. In order to use template, I also change
breakpoint instruction of type "static const gdb_byte[]" to
"constexpr gdb_byte[]", and rename them to ARCH_break_insn.

Yao Qi 598cc9dc84 GDBARCH_BREAKPOINT_MANIPULATION and SET_GDBARCH_BREAKPOINT_MANIPULATION
Many archs have only one kind of breakpoint, so their breakpoint_from_pc
implementations are quite similar. This patch uses macro
GDBARCH_BREAKPOINT_MANIPULATION and SET_GDBARCH_BREAKPOINT_MANIPULATION
for breakpoint_from_pc, so that we can easily switch from
breakpoint_from_pc to breakpoint_kind_from_pc and sw_breakpoint_from_kind
later.

Ulrich Weigand 88dfca6c43 Add some missing arch_..._type helpers
gdbtypes provides a number of helper routines that can be called instead of
using arch_type directly to create a type of a particular kind. This patch
adds two additional such routines that have been missing so far, to allow
creation of TYPE_CODE_DECFLOAT and TYPE_CODE_POINTER types.

The patch also changes a number of places to use the new helper routines
instead of calling arch_type directly. No functional change intended.

gdb/ChangeLog:

	* gdbtypes.h (arch_decfloat_type): New prototype.
	(arch_pointer_type): Likewise.

Simon Marchi 8d7493201c Replace some xmalloc-family functions with XNEW-family ones
This patch is part of the make-gdb-buildable-in-C++ effort. The idea is
to change some calls to the xmalloc family of functions to calls to the
equivalents in the XNEW family. This avoids adding an explicit cast, so
it keeps the code a bit more readable. Some of them also map relatively
well to a C++ equivalent (XNEW (struct foo) -> new foo), so it will be
possible to do scripted replacements if needed.

I only changed calls that were obviously allocating memory for one or
multiple "objects". Allocation of variable sizes (such as strings or
buffer handling) will be for later (and won't use XNEW).

  - xmalloc (sizeof (struct foo)) -> XNEW (struct foo)
  - xmalloc (num * sizeof (struct foo)) -> XNEWVEC (struct foo, num)
  - xcalloc (1, sizeof (struct foo)) -> XCNEW (struct foo)
  - xcalloc (num, sizeof (struct foo)) -> XCNEWVEC (struct foo, num)
  - xrealloc (p, num * sizeof (struct foo) -> XRESIZEVEC (struct foo, p, num)
  - obstack_alloc (ob, sizeof (struct foo)) -> XOBNEW (ob, struct foo)
  - obstack_alloc (ob, num * sizeof (struct foo)) -> XOBNEWVEC (ob, struct foo, num)
  - alloca (sizeof (struct foo)) -> XALLOCA (struct foo)
  - alloca (num * sizeof (struct foo)) -> XALLOCAVEC (struct foo, num)

Some instances of xmalloc followed by memset to zero the buffer were
replaced by XCNEW or XCNEWVEC.

I regtested on x86-64, Ubuntu 14.04, but the patch touches many
architecture-specific files. For those I'll have to rely on the
buildbot or people complaining that I broke their gdb.

Kevin Buettner e62803699d rl78: Create a flags type for the psw register.
For the Renesas rl78 architecture, associate a flags type with the PSW
register. This will cause symbolic flags to be printed when using
the "info registers" command.

	(rl78_register_type): Add case for RL78_PSW_REGNUM.

Kevin Buettner 0bca7f99d8 Extend rl78 prologue analyzer to recognize more complicated prologues
This patch extends the rl78 prologue analyzer so that it can recognize
this kind of prologue:

   0x119f <main>: movw ax, sp
   0x11a1 <main+2>: subw ax, #0x1fa6
   0x11a4 <main+5>: movw sp, ax

The test case for gdb.base/miscexprs.exp is now compiled to generate
that sequence instead of a much longer and more inefficient sequence.

	(opc_reg_to_gdb_regnum): New static function.
	(rl78_analyze_prologue): Recognize instructions forming slightly
	more interesting prologues.

Kevin Buettner 6d45194248 Use 16-bit integer type for rl78 register pairs.
This patch changes rl78-tdep.c so that a 16-bit type is used for
register pairs instead of a pointer type as was previously the case.
This will cause these register pairs to be displayed as integers
instead of as a data address with a 0xf0000 ORed in.

E.g. registers ax, bc, de, and hl might now be displayed like this:

(gdb) info registers ax bc de hl
    ax 0x6 6
    bc 0x0 0
    de 0x10c3 4291
    hl 0x108d 423

Whereas, before, they were displayed as follows:

(gdb) info registers ax bc de hl
    ax 0xf0006 0xf0006
    bc 0xf0000 0xf0000
    de 0xf10c3 0xf10c3
    hl 0xf108d 0xf108d

These pairs are 16 bit quantities and should be displayed as such.
This change also affects the way that the banked register pairs are
displayed. Within GDB, the banked register pairs are named bank0_rp0,
bank0_rp1, .., bank3_rp2, bank3_rp3.

However, these register pairs need to be used as addresses in DWARF
expressions. I have added 16 pseudo registers corresponding to banked
register pairs. These new pseudo registers are all hidden from the
user and have a pointer type. Values from these registers are
intended to be used in DWARF expressions. Therefore,
rl78_dwarf_reg_to_regnum() has been adjusted to return these new
pseudo register numbers.

I had a much simpler patch which only changed the types, but it showed
a number of regressions due to integer values from the banked register
pairs being used as part of an address expression. This current patch
shows no regressions and now displays values of register pairs
correctly.

Kevin Buettner bc3c6b3642 Add g10 support to rl78-tdep.c.
The g10 is an rl78 variant which has fewer registers. Aside from the
obvious addition of a new register_name() function which omits
registers which the g10 lacks, this change also updates the
return_value() function with the conventions specified by the ABI for
finding and setting return values.

	* rl78-tdep.c (rl78_g10_register_name): New function.
	(rl78_return_value): Add g10 support.
	(rl78_gdbarch_init): Register rl78_g10_register_name for the
	g10.

year ranges, as approved by the FSF.
