Similarly than with OMAP2 there are many DMA channel definitions that have
been moved or redefined in drivers using them and we can remove them from
dma.h.
There is exception with MMC that arch/arm/mach-omap1/devices.c is using
MMC DMA channel definitions for setting platform data but those can be well
replaced with numeric values.
Remove dma.h include from arch/arm/mach-omap1/devices.c and use a script
below for dropping duplicated definitions and for replacing definitions
with DMA channel numbers.

arch/arm/mach-omap1/mcbsp.c is only place where OMAP1 McBSP DMA channel
definitions are set. We may well use numerical values there and get rid
of their definitions in arch/arm/mach-omap1/dma.h.
Remove dma.h include from arch/arm/mach-omap1/mcbsp.c and use following

The mailbox hardware (in OMAP) uses a queued mailbox interrupt
mechanism that provides a communication channel between processors
through a set of registers and their associated interrupt signals
by sending and receiving messages.
The OMAP mailbox framework/driver code is moved to be under
drivers/mailbox, in preparation for adapting to a common mailbox
driver framework. This allows the build for OMAP mailbox to be
enabled (it was disabled during the multi-platform support).
As part of the migration from plat and mach code:
- Kconfig symbols have been renamed to build OMAP1 or OMAP2+ drivers.
- mailbox.h under plat-omap/plat/include has been split into a public
and private header files. The public header has only the API related
functions and types.
- The module name mailbox.ko from plat-omap is changed to
omap-mailbox.ko
- The module name mailbox_mach.ko from mach-omapX is changed as
mailbox_omap1.ko for OMAP1
mailbox_omap2.ko for OMAP2+

calculate min_delta_ns and max_delta_ns, with the necessary info passed
into clockevents_config_and_register(). Use this combined configure

We only want this initcall to run when the kernel is
booted on omap SoCs. Fix the issue by initializing the
the initcall from separately for omap1 and omap2+.
This fixes the issue for omap2+ multiplatform configs
as we are using omap_subsys_initcall there.

This branch contains a number of cleanups and unifications to various
timer- clock-events- and ARM timer code. The main points are:
1) Convert arch_gettimeoffset to a pointer, so that architectures with
multiple timer implementations can simply set this standard pointer
rather than maintaining their own arch-specific pointers for the
same purpose. Various architectures are converted to using this new
feature.
2) Conversion of ARM timer implementations to use clock_event_devices's
suspend/resume operations, rather than the ARM-specific sys_timer
versions. Thus, the ARM code begins to use more common infra-structure
rather than arch-specific code.
3) Removal of ARM's struct sys_timer completely, now that everything uses
common code.
4) Introduction of drivers/clocksource/clksrc-of.c, which allows ARM clock
source implementations to be moved into drivers/clocksource, with the
need to add SoC-specific header files for each timer initialization
function; instead, all enabled implementations are registered into a
table which a single core function iterates over, and calls the
relevant initialization functions based on device tree. At least the
Tegra and BCM2835 clocksource implementations will use this feature in
the 3.9 kernel cycle.

timer- clock-events- and ARM timer code. The main points are:
1) Convert arch_gettimeoffset to a pointer, so that architectures with
multiple timer implementations can simply set this standard pointer
rather than maintaining their own arch-specific pointers for the
same purpose. Various architectures are converted to using this new
feature.
2) Conversion of ARM timer implementations to use clock_event_devices's
suspend/resume operations, rather than the ARM-specific sys_timer
versions. Thus, the ARM code begins to use more common infra-structure
rather than arch-specific code.
3) Removal of ARM's struct sys_timer completely, now that everything uses
common code.
4) Introduction of drivers/clocksource/clksrc-of.c, which allows ARM clock
source implementations to be moved into drivers/clocksource, with the
need to add SoC-specific header files for each timer initialization
function; instead, all enabled implementations are registered into a
table which a single core function iterates over, and calls the
relevant initialization functions based on device tree. At least the
Tegra and BCM2835 clocksource implementations will use this feature in
the 3.9 kernel cycle.

CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev*
markings need to be removed.
This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata,
and __devexit from these drivers.

Looks like we missed plat-omap/fb.c for cpu_is_omap usage
mach-omap2. This is the last user of cpu_is_omap, so let's
quickly fix it up so we can finally remove plat/cpu.h for
omap2lus.

we can make plat/cpu.h private. After this we can finally drop

Based on earlier discussions[1] we attempted to find a suitable
location for the omap DMA header in commit 2b6c4e73 (ARM: OMAP:
DMA: Move plat/dma.h to plat-omap/dma-omap.h) until the conversion
to dmaengine is complete.
Unfortunately that was before I was able to try to test compile
of the ARM multiplatform builds for omap2+, and the end result
was not very good.
So I'm creating yet another all over the place patch to cut the
last dependency for building omap2+ for ARM multiplatform. After
this, we have finally removed the driver dependencies to the
arch/arm code, except for few drivers that are being worked on.
The other option was to make the <plat-omap/dma-omap.h> path
to work, but we'd have to add some new header directory to for
multiplatform builds.
Or we would have to manually include arch/arm/plat-omap/include
again from arch/arm/Makefile for omap2+.
Neither of these alternatives sound appealing as they will
likely lead addition of various other headers exposed to the
drivers, which we want to avoid for the multiplatform kernels.
Since we already have a minimal include/linux/omap-dma.h,
let's just use that instead and add a note to it to not
use the custom omap DMA functions any longer where possible.
Note that converting omap DMA to dmaengine depends on
dmaengine supporting automatically incrementing the FIFO
address at the device end, and converting all the remaining
legacy drivers. So it's going to be few more merge windows.

The only thing omap_init_consistent_dma_size() does is increase the
consistent DMA size if CONFIG_FB_OMAP_CONSISTENT_DMA_SIZE is defined.
Increasing the consistent DMA size should no longer be needed with CMA
in place.
This patch removes omap_init_consistent_dma_size() and also
arch/arm/mach-omap2/io.c:omap_common_init_early() which becomes an empty
function.

to mach-omap1. The common code in plat-omap just

This code will be eventually in drivers, and for the
code in the drivers we don't want to have any cpu_is_omap
usage. Those macros should be private to arch/arm/mach-omap1
and arch/arm/mach-omap2.
To fix this, let's move the define for dma_omap2plus()
to dma-omap.h, and use the existing dma_attr passed in
the platform_data as the revision registers are what they
are.
Note that we can now also remove the relative includes
introduced by the recent clean-up patches.

Most of the prototypes in plat-omap/common.h are not
common to omap1 and omap2+, they are local to omap2+
and should not be in plat-omap/common.h.
The only shared function prototype in this file is
omap_init_clocksource_32k(), let's put that into
counter-32k.h.
Note that the new plat/counter-32k.h must not be
included from drivers, that will break omap2+ build
for CONFIG_MULTIPLATFORM.

The common code should not have any omap1 or omap2+
specific code, and should not need to call the cpu_is_omap
macros.
The only remaining user for cpu_is_omap macros is
omap_i2c_nr_ports(). Let's make those checks in
the omap specific implementation of omap_i2c_add_bus()
instead in order to remove cpu_is_omap usage from
the common code.

The OMAP watchdog timer driver directly calls a function exported by
code in arch/arm/mach-omap2. This is not good; it tightly couples
this driver to the mach-omap2 integration code. Instead, add a
temporary platform_data function pointer to abstract this function
call. A subsequent patch will convert the watchdog driver to use this
function pointer.
This patch also moves the device creation code out of
arch/arm/mach-omap2/devices.c and into arch/arm/mach-omap2/wd_timer.c.
This is another step towards the removal of
arch/arm/mach-omap2/devices.c.

An older version of the patch "ARM: OMAP1: create read_reset_sources()
function (for initial use by watchdog)" was sent upstream, which used
the wrong return type for the omap1_get_reset_sources() function.
Fix it to return a u32, which is what the WDTIMER platform_data
function pointer read_reset_sources() expects.

On OMAP1, the existing OMAP watchdog driver reads a register directly
from a non-watchdog IP block. It also does not convert the register's
contents into the standard WDIOF_* bits expected from the
GETBOOTSTATUS ioctl().
To move towards fixing these problems, create an function in
arch/arm/mach-omap1 to return the reset source data. A subsequent
patch will provide this function to the watchdog driver via
platform_data.
In the long term, the best approach would be to move this function
to a new OMAP1 driver that handles access to the OMAP1 Clock
Generation and Reset Management IP block. Then no platform_data would
be needed.

We want to remove plat/cpu.h. To do this, let's first split
it to private soc.h to mach-omap1 and mach-omap2. We have to
keep plat/cpu.h around until the remaining drivers are fixed,
so let's include the local soc.h in plat/cpu.h and for drivers
still including plat/cpu.h.
Once the drivers are fixed not to include plat/cpu.h, we
can remove the file.
This is needed for the ARM common zImage support.

There's no need to keep the device related things in the
common i2c.c as omap2+ is using hwmod. Split the code to
mach-omap1 and mach-omap2 parts and only leave common
code to plat-omap/i2c.c.
Note that as omap1 only has one i2c controller, we can
now remove the old device related macros.

There's no need to have this file in plat/fpga.h. We can
make it local to plat-omap replacing fpga_read/write
functions directly with readb/writeb as that's how
they are already defined in fpga.h.
Note that 2420 based H4 is also using the fpga, so let's
keep the led support around in plat-omap until we flip
over mach-omap2 to device tree.

Some of the omap1 dma channel definitions are used by some drivers.
For moving omap1 dma channel definitions to mach-omap1/, the used
ones should be defined locally to driver. Driver can eliminate it
by using DT, platform data, or IORESOURCE_DMA.

The old method of registering with the ASoC core by creating a
"soc-audio" platform device no longer works for Amstrad Delta sound card
after recent changes to drvdata handling (commit
0998d06310, 'device-core: Ensure drvdata =
NULL when no driver is bound'.
Use snd_soc_register_card() method instead, as suggested by the ASoC
core generated warning message, and move both the card and codec
platform device registration to the arch board file where those belong.
