Linus Torvalds 7f33e7241d pwm: Changes for v3.16-rc1
The majority of these changes are cleanups and fixes across all drivers.
Redundant error messages are removed and more PWM controllers set the
.can_sleep flag to signal that they can't be used in atomic context.

Support is added for the Broadcom Kona family of SoCs and the Intel LPSS
driver can now probe PCI devices in addition to ACPI devices. Upon shut-
down, the pwm-backlight driver will now power off the backlight. It also
uses the new descriptor-based GPIO API for more concise GPIO handling.

A large chunk of these changes also converts platforms to use the lookup
mechanism rather than relying on the global number space to reference
PWM devices. This is largely in preparation for more unification and
cleanups in future patches. Eventually it will allow the legacy PWM API
 to be removed.

Andrii Tseglytskyi ce369a545a ARM: OMAP5+: dpll: support Duty Cycle Correction(DCC)
Duty Cycle Correction(DCC) needs to be enabled if the MPU is to run at
frequencies beyond 1.4GHz for OMAP5, DRA75x, DRA72x.

MPU DPLL has a limitation on the maximum frequency it can be locked
at. Duty Cycle Correction circuit is used to recover a correct duty
cycle for achieving higher frequencies (hardware internally switches
output to M3 output(CLKOUTHIF) from M2 output (CLKOUT)).

For further information, See the note on OMAP5432 Technical Reference
Manual(SWPU282U) chapter 3.6.3.3.1 "DPLLs Output Clocks Parameters",
and also the "OMAP543x ES2.0 DM Operating Conditions Addendum v0.5"
chapter 2.1 "Micro Processor Unit (MPU)". Equivalent information is
present in relevant DRA75x, 72x documentation(SPRUHP2E, SPRUHI2P).

Linus Torvalds eb3d3ec567 Merge branch 'for-linus' of git://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/~rmk/linux-arm into next
Pull ARM updates from Russell King:

 - Major clean-up of the L2 cache support code. The existing mess was
becoming rather unmaintainable through all the additions that others
have done over time. This turns it into a much nicer structure, and
implements a few performance improvements as well.

 - Clean up some of the CP15 control register tweaks for alignment
support, moving some code and data into alignment.c

 - DMA properties for ARM, from Santosh and reviewed by DT people. This
adds DT properties to specify bus translations we can't discover
automatically, and to indicate whether devices are coherent.

 - Hibernation support for ARM

 - Make ftrace work with read-only text in modules

 - add suspend support for PJ4B CPUs

 - rework interrupt masking for undefined instruction handling, which
allows us to enable interrupts earlier in the handling of these
   exceptions.

 - support for big endian page tables

 - fix stacktrace support to exclude stacktrace functions from the
trace, and add save_stack_trace_regs() implementation so that kprobes
   can record stack traces.

 - Add support for the Cortex-A17 CPU.

 - Remove last vestiges of ARM710 support.

 - Removal of ARM "meminfo" structure, finally converting us solely to
memblock to handle the early memory initialisation.

Linus Torvalds e5c4ecdc55 USB driver patches for 3.16-rc1
Here is the big USB driver pull request for 3.16-rc1.

Nothing huge here, but lots of little things in the USB core, and in
lots of drivers. Hopefully the USB power management will be work better
now that it has been reworked to do per-port power control dynamically.
There's also a raft of gadget driver updates and fixes, CONFIG_USB_DEBUG
is finally gone now that everything has been converted over to the
dynamic debug inteface, the last hold-out drivers were cleaned up and
the config option removed. There were also other minor things all
through the drivers/usb/ tree, the shortlog shows this pretty well.

All have been in linux-next, including the very last patch, which came
from linux-next to fix a build issue on some platforms.

Linus Torvalds 755a9ba7bf ARM: SoC devicetree updates for 3.16
As with previous release, this continues to be among the largest branches
we merge, with lots of new contents.

New things for this release are among other things:

 - DTSI contents for the new SoCs supported in 3.16 (see SoC pull request)
 - Qualcomm APQ8064 and APQ8084 SoCs and eval boards
 - Nvidia Jetson TK1 development board (Tegra T124-based)

Two new SoCs that didn't need enough new platform code to stand out
enough for me to notice when writing the SoC tag, but that adds new DT
 contents are:

 - TI DRA72
 - Marvell Berlin 2Q

Linus Torvalds c67d9ce166 ARM: SoC board support updates for 3.16
The bulk of this branch is updates for Renesas Shmobile. They are still
doing some enablement for classic boards first, and then come up with DT
bindings when they've had a chance to learn more about the hardware. Not
necessarily a bad way to go about it, and they're looking at moving some
of the temporary board code resulting from it to drivers/staging instead
 to avoid the churn here.

As a result of the shmobile clock cleanups, we end up merging quite a
bit of SH code here as well. We ended up merging it here instead of in
the cleanup branch due to the other board changes depending on it.

Linus Torvalds 825f4e0271 ARM: SoC updates for 3.16 (part 1)
A quite large set of SoC updates this cycle. In no particular order:

 - Multi-cluster power management for Samsung Exynos, adding support for
   big.LITTLE CPU switching on EXYNOS5
 - SMP support for Marvell Armada 375 and 38x
 - SMP rework on Allwinner A31
 - Xilinx Zynq support for SOC_BUS, big endian
 - Marvell orion5x platform cleanup, modernizing the implementation and
   moving to DT.
 - _Finally_ moving Samsung Exynos over to support MULTIPLATFORM, so
that their platform can be enabled in the same kernel binary as most
of the other v7 platforms in the tree. \o/ The work isn't quite complete,
there's some driver fixes still needed, but the basics now work.

 New SoC support added:
 - Freescale i.MX6SX
 - LSI Axxia AXM55xx SoCs
 - Samsung EXYNOS 3250, 5260, 5410, 5420 and 5800
 - STi STIH407

Plus a large set of various smaller updates for different platforms. I'm
probably missing some important one here.

Avoid reading directly from the L2 registers in platform code. The L2
code will have already saved the register values itself into the
l2x0_saved_regs structure, so platform code should just move these
values to where they're required.

This is safe because the L2x0 will have been initialised by an early

control register: it is part of the integration process to configure
the hardware IP. Most platforms get this right, yet still many
cargo-cult program, and assume that they always need specifying to
the L2 cache code. Remove them so we can find out which really need
this.

Now that OMAP2 uses the write_sec method, we don't need to enable the L2

Dave Gerlach 2e4b62dc5e ARM: OMAP2+: Remove suspend_set_ops from common pm late init
In omap2_common_pm_late_init suspend_set_ops was called to set common
suspend handling functions for all omap platforms. This created two
problems. First, these suspend ops were being set for all platforms,
regardless of whether or not suspend support has been integrated so in
the case of AM33XX, suspend to mem was presented as available but
failed every time. Second, some platforms will need to define a
completely separate set of suspend ops, such as AM33XX, due to
differences from previous omap platforms so there is no need to
always set the common omap ops.

This patch moves the suspend_set_ops call from omap2_common_pm_late_init
into a separate function that then gets called in the omap*_pm_init
functions for each platform.

Santosh Shilimkar 4b353a706a ARM: OMAP4: Fix the boot regression with CPU_IDLE enabled
On OMAP4 panda board, there have been several bug reports about boot
hang and lock-ups with CPU_IDLE enabled. The root cause of the issue
is missing interrupts while in idle state. Commit cb7094e8 {cpuidle / omap4 :
use CPUIDLE_FLAG_TIMER_STOP flag} moved the broadcast notifiers to common
code for right reasons but on OMAP4 which suffers from a nasty ROM code
bug with GIC, commit ff999b8a {ARM: OMAP4460: Workaround for ROM bug ..},
we loose interrupts which leads to issues like lock-up, hangs etc.

Patch reverts commit cb7094 {cpuidle / omap4 : use CPUIDLE_FLAG_TIMER_STOP
flag} and 54769d6 {cpuidle: OMAP4: remove timer broadcast initialization} to
avoid the issue. With this change, OMAP4 panda boards, the mentioned
issues are getting fixed. We no longer loose interrupts which was the cause
of the regression.

Merge tag 'for-v3.15-rc/omap-fixes-b' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/pjw/omap-pending into omap-for-v3.15/fixes-v3

Two small OMAP fixes for v3.15-rc. One fixes "slow motion" or
"choppy" audio playback on OMAP5. The other applies an OMAP3630 fix
for clock rate setting for camera to other OMAP3 chips.

Basic build, boot, and PM test results are available here:

Paul Bolle 4513c3b8c4 ARM: OMAP: AM3517EVM: remove check for CONFIG_PANEL_SHARP_LQ043T1DG01
The Kconfig symbol PANEL_SHARP_LQ043T1DG01 was removed in v2.6.38. The
check for CONFIG_PANEL_SHARP_LQ043T1DG01 and its MODULE variant has
evaluated to false ever since. Remove that check.

Paul Bolle d8c270a874 ARM: OMAP: omap3stalker: remove two Kconfig macros
Checks for CONFIG_OMAP2_VENC_OUT_TYPE_SVIDEO and
CONFIG_OMAP2_VENC_OUT_TYPE_COMPOSITE were added in v2.6.35. But the
related Kconfig symbols have never been added to the tree. Remove these
checks.

Initialize connector_type to OMAP_DSS_VENC_TYPE_COMPOSITE explicitly.
That's what's happening currently: OMAP_DSS_VENC_TYPE_COMPOSITE equals
zero and connector_type remains zero since both checks currently fail.

Tero Kristo b550e47f5e ARM: OMAP3/4: PRM: add support of late_init call to prm_ll_ops
SoC specific late_init call is now registered during PRM init, and will
be called automatically by PRM core. This helps to get rid of some
redundant initcalls and cpu_is_X checks from the PRM code.
