When RSS is enabled the device tries to load the eBPF program
to select RX virtqueue in the TUN. If eBPF can be loaded
the RSS will function also with vhost (works with kernel 5.8 and later).
Software RSS is used as a fallback with vhost=off when eBPF can't be loaded
or when hash population requested by the guest.

In the failover case configuration, virtio_net_device_realize() uses an
add_migration_state_change_notifier() to add a state notifier, but this
notifier is not removed by the unrealize function when the virtio-net
card is unplugged.
If the card is unplugged and a migration is started, the notifier is
called and as it is not valid anymore QEMU crashes.
This patch fixes the problem by adding the
remove_migration_state_change_notifier() in virtio_net_device_unrealize().
The problem can be reproduced with:

If a PHY does not exist, attempts to read from it should return 0xffff.
Otherwise the Linux kernel will believe that a PHY is there and select
the non-existing PHY. This in turn will result in network errors later
on since the real PHY is not selected or configured.
Since reading from or writing to a non-existing PHY is not an emulation
error, replace guest error messages with traces.

The info_str field of the NetClientState structure is static and has a size
of 256 bytes. This amount is often unclaimed, and the field itself is used
exclusively for HMP "info network".
The patch translates info_str to dynamic memory allocation.
This action is also allows us to painlessly discard usage of this field
for backend devices.

During procss_tx_desc(), driver can try to chain data descriptor with
legacy descriptor, when will lead underflow for the following
calculation in process_tx_desc() for bytes:
if (tp->size + bytes > msh)
bytes = msh - tp->size;
This will lead a infinite loop. So check and fail early if tp->size if
greater or equal to msh.

Currently the emulated EMAC for sun8i always traverses the transmit queue
from the head when transferring packets. It searches for a list of consecutive
descriptors whichs are flagged as ready for processing and transmits their payloads
accordingly. The controller stops processing once it finds a descriptor that is not
marked ready.
While the above behaviour works in most situations, it is not the same as the actual
EMAC in hardware. Actual hardware uses the TX_CUR_DESC register value to keep track
of the last position in the transmit queue and continues processing from that position
when software triggers the start of DMA processing. The currently emulated behaviour can
lead to packet loss on transmit when software fills the transmit queue with ready
descriptors that overlap the tail of the circular list.
This commit modifies the emulated EMAC for sun8i such that it processes
the transmit queue using the TX_CUR_DESC register in the same way as hardware.

Some mlx vdpa devices with kernels at least up to 5.11 currently present
0 as their MAC address. This is because they have not been
pre-configured with a MAC: they have a learning bridge and only learn
the MAC once guest is up. Kernel patches and tools to allow programming
the MAC from host are being developed. For now - since these
combinations exist in the field - let's detect zero mac and just try to
proceed with the mac from the qemu command line.
This makes the guest use this MAC to send packets in turn teaching
the MAC to the card, and things work.

report the actual MAC from QEMU commad line in the info message.

In failover_add_primary(), we search the id of the failover device by
scanning the list of the devices in the opts list to find a device with
a failover_pair_id equals to the id of the virtio-net device.
If the failover_pair_id is not found, QEMU ignores the primary
device silently (which also means it will not be hidden and
it will be enabled directly at boot).
After that, we search the id in the opts list to do a qdev_device_add()
with it. The device will be always found as otherwise we had exited
before, and thus the warning is never displayed.
Fix that by moving the error report to the first exit condition.
Also add a g_assert() to be sure the compiler will not complain
about a possibly NULL pointer.

failover_add_primary() calls qdev_device_add() and doesn't unref
the device. Because of that, when the device is unplugged a reference
is remaining and prevents the cleanup of the object.
This prevents to be able to plugin back the failover primary device,
with errors like:
(qemu) device_add vfio-pci,host=0000:41:00.0,id=hostdev0,bus=root.3,failover_pair_id=net0
(qemu) device_del hostdev0
We can check with "info qtree" and "info pci" that the device has been removed, and then:
(qemu) device_add vfio-pci,host=0000:41:00.0,id=hostdev1,bus=root.3,failover_pair_id=net0
Error: vfio 0000:41:00.0: device is already attached

Per MPC8548ERM [1] chapter 14.5.3.4.1:
When RCTRL.RSF is 1, frames less than 64 bytes are accepted upon
a DA match. But currently QEMU does the opposite. This commit
reverses the RCTRL.RSF testing logic to match the manual.
Due to the reverse of the logic, certain guests may potentially
break if they don't program eTSEC to have RCTRL.RSF bit set.
When RCTRL.RSF is 0, short frames are silently dropped, however
as of today both slirp and tap networking do not pad short frames
(e.g.: an ARP packet) to the minimum frame size of 60 bytes. So
ARP requests will be dropped, preventing the guest from becoming
visible on the network.
The same issue was reported on e1000 and vmxenet3 before, see:

At present net_checksum_calculate() blindly calculates all types of
checksums (IP, TCP, UDP). Some NICs may have a per type setting in
their BDs to control what checksum should be offloaded. To support
such hardware behavior, introduce a 'csum_flag' parameter to the
net_checksum_calculate() API to allow fine control over what type
checksum is calculated.
Existing users of this API are updated accordingly.

The lan9118 code mostly uses symbolic constants for register offsets;
the exceptions are those which the datasheet doesn't give an official
symbolic name to.
Add some names for the registers which don't already have them, based
on the longer names they are given in the memory map.

Anywhere we create a list of just one item or by prepending items
(typically because order doesn't matter), we can use
QAPI_LIST_PREPEND(). But places where we must keep the list in order
by appending remain open-coded until later patches.
Note that as a side effect, this also performs a cleanup of two minor
issues in qga/commands-posix.c: the old code was performing
new = g_malloc0(sizeof(*ret));
which 1) is confusing because you have to verify whether 'new' and
'ret' are variables with the same type, and 2) would conflict with C++
compilation (not an actual problem for this file, but makes
copy-and-paste harder).

The Xilinx ZynqMP CAN controller is developed based on SocketCAN, QEMU CAN bus
implementation. Bus connection and socketCAN connection for each CAN module
can be set through command lines.
Example for using single CAN:

We didn't use at all the -1 value, and we don't really care. It was
only used for the cases when this is not the device that we are
searching for. And in that case we should not hide the device.

Two things, at this point:
* n->primary_device_id has to be set, otherwise
virtio_net_find_primary don't work. So we have a leak here.
* it has to be exactly the same that prim_dev->id because what
qdev_find_recursive() does is just compare this two values.
So remove the unneeded assignment and leaky bits.

An integer underflow could occur during packet transmission due to 'tx_len' not
being updated if SONIC_TFC register is set to zero. Check for negative 'tx_len'
when removing existing FCS.

While receiving packets via e1000e_write_packet_to_guest() routine,
'desc_offset' is advanced only when RX descriptor is processed. And
RX descriptor is not processed if it has NULL buffer address.
This may lead to an infinite loop condition. Increament 'desc_offset'
to process next descriptor in the ring to avoid infinite loop.

The ctucan driver defines types for its registers which are a union
of a uint32_t with a struct with bitfields for the individual
fields within that register. This is a bad idea, because bitfields
aren't portable. The ctu_can_fd_regs.h header works around the
most glaring of the portability issues by defining the
fields in two different orders depending on the setting of the
__LITTLE_ENDIAN_BITFIELD define. However, in ctucan_core.h this
is unconditionally set to 1, which is wrong for big-endian hosts.
Set it only if HOST_WORDS_BIGENDIAN is not set. There is no need
for a "have we defined it already" guard, because the only place
that should set it is ctucan_core.h, which has the usual
double-inclusion guard.

Coverity points out that in ctucan_send_ready_buffers() we
set buff_st_mask = 0xf << (i * 4) inside the loop, but then
we never use it before overwriting it later.
The only thing we use the mask for is as part of the code that is
inserting the new buff_st field into tx_status. That is more
comprehensibly written using deposit32(), so do that and drop the
mask variable entirely.
We also update the buff_st local variable at multiple points
during this function, but nothing can ever see these
intermediate values, so just drop those, write the final
TXT_TOK as a fixed constant value, and collapse the only
remaining set/use of buff_st down into an extract32().

The ctucan device has 4 CAN bus cores, each of which has a set of 20
32-bit registers for writing the transmitted data. The registers are
however not contiguous; each core's buffers is 0x100 bytes after
the last.
We got the checks on the address wrong in the ctucan_mem_write()
function:
* the first "is addr in range at all" check allowed
addr == CTUCAN_CORE_MEM_SIZE, which is actually the first
byte off the end of the range
* the decode of addresses into core-number plus offset in the
tx buffer for that core failed to check that the offset was
in range, so the guest could write off the end of the
tx_buffer[] array
NB: currently the values of CTUCAN_CORE_MEM_SIZE, CTUCAN_CORE_TXBUF_NUM,
etc, make "buff_num >= CTUCAN_CORE_TXBUF_NUM" impossible, but we
retain this as a runtime check rather than an assertion to permit
those values to be changed in future (in hardware they are
configurable synthesis parameters).
Fix the top level check, and check the offset is within the buffer.

The original CAN_PCI config option enables multiple SJA1000 PCI boards
emulation build. These boards bridge SJA1000 into I/O or memory
address space of the host CPU and depend on SJA1000 emulation.

The implementation of the model of complete open-source/design/hardware
CAN FD controller. The IP core project has been started and is maintained
by Ondrej Ille at Czech Technical University in Prague.

The core is mapped to PCIe card same as on one of its real hardware

Definitions of registers and CAN FD frame message box of CTU CAN FD
IP core are generated the specification in CACTUS/IP-XACT format.

clang's C11 atomic_fetch_*() functions only take a C11 atomic type
pointer argument. QEMU uses direct types (int, etc) and this causes a
compiler error when a QEMU code calls these functions in a source file
that also included <stdatomic.h> via a system header file:

../util/async.c:79:17: error: address argument to atomic operation must be a pointer to _Atomic type ('unsigned int *' invalid)
Avoid using atomic_*() names in QEMU's atomic.h since that namespace is
used by <stdatomic.h>. Prefix QEMU's APIs with 'q' so that atomic.h
and <stdatomic.h> can co-exist. I checked /usr/include on my machine and
searched GitHub for existing "qatomic_" users but there seem to be none.
This patch was generated using:

qemu_hexdump()'s pointer to the buffer and length of the
buffer are closely related arguments but are widely separated
in the argument list order (also, the format of <stdio.h>
function prototypes is usually to have the FILE* argument
coming first).
Reorder the arguments as "fp, prefix, buf, size" which is
more logical.

Most uses of qemu_hexdump() do not take an array of char
as input, forcing use of cast. Since we can use this
helper to dump any kind of buffer, use a pointer to void
argument instead.

When cadence_gem model was created for Xilinx boards, the PHY address
was hard-coded to 23 in the GEM model. Now that we have introduced a
property we can use that to tell GEM model what our PHY address is.
Change all boards' GEM 'phy-addr' property value to 23, and set the
PHY address default value to 0 in the GEM model.

At present the PHY address of the PHY connected to GEM is hard-coded
to either 23 (BOARD_PHY_ADDRESS) or 0. This might not be the case for
all boards. Add a new 'phy-addr' property so that board can specify
the PHY address for each GEM instance.
