Add a new method to CPUClass which the memory system core can
use to obtain the correct address space index to use for a memory
access with a given set of transaction attributes, together
with the wrapper function cpu_asidx_from_attrs() which implements
the default behaviour ("always use asidx 0") for CPU classes
which don't provide the method.

Add a new optional method get_phys_page_attrs_debug() to CPUClass.
This is like the existing get_phys_page_debug(), but also returns
the memory transaction attributes to use for the access.
This will be necessary for CPUs which have multiple address
spaces and use the attributes to select the correct address
space.
We provide a wrapper function cpu_get_phys_page_attrs_debug()
which falls back to the existing get_phys_page_debug(), so we
don't need to change every target CPU.

Allow multiple calls to cpu_address_space_init(); each
call adds an entry to the cpu->ases array at the specified
index. It is up to the target-specific CPU code to actually use
these extra address spaces.
Since this multiple AddressSpace support won't work with
KVM, add an assertion to avoid confusing failures.

Currently the ObjectProperty iterator API works as follows:

This has the benefit that the ObjectPropertyIterator struct
can be opaque, but has the downside that callers need to
explicitly call a free function. It is also not in keeping
with iterator style used elsewhere in QEMU/GLib2.
This patch changes the API to use stack allocation instead:

When there are many instances of a given class, registering
properties against the instance is wasteful of resources. The
majority of objects have a statically defined list of possible
properties, so most of the properties are easily registerable
against the class. Only those properties which are conditionally
registered at runtime need be recorded against the klass.
Registering properties against classes also makes it possible
to provide static introspection of QOM - currently introspection
is only possible after creating an instance of a class, which
severely limits its usefulness.
This impl only supports simple scalar properties. It does not
attempt to allow child object / link object properties against
the class. There are ways to support those too, but it would
make this patch more complicated, so it is left as an exercise
for the future.
There is no equivalent to object_property_del() provided, since
classes must be immutable once they are defined.

ARM GICv3 systems with large number of CPUs create lots of IRQ pins. Since
every pin is represented as a property, number of these properties becomes
very large. Every property add first makes sure there's no duplicates.
Traversing the list becomes very slow, therefore QEMU initialization takes
significant time (several seconds for e. g. 16 CPUs).
This patch replaces list with GHashTable, making lookup very fast. The only
drawback is that object_child_foreach() and object_child_foreach_recursive()
cannot add or remove properties during traversal, since GHashTableIter does
not have modify-safe version. However, the code seems not to modify objects
via these functions.

Some users of QOM need to be able to iterate over properties
defined against an object instance. Currently they are just
directly using the QTAIL macros against the object properties
data structure.
This is bad because it exposes them to changes in the data
structure used to store properties, as well as changes in
functionality such as ability to register properties against
the class.
This provides an ObjectPropertyIterator struct which will
insulate the callers from the particular data structure
used to store properties. It can be used thus

Gather up all the fields currently in CPUState which deal with the CPU's
AddressSpace into a separate CPUAddressSpace struct. This paves the way
for allowing the CPU to know about more than one AddressSpace.
The rearrangement also allows us to make the MemoryListener a directly
embedded object in the CPUAddressSpace (it could not be embedded in
CPUState because 'struct MemoryListener' isn't defined for the user-only
builds). This allows us to resolve the FIXME in tcg_commit() by going
directly from the MemoryListener to the CPUAddressSpace.
This patch extracts the actual update of the cached dispatch pointer
from cpu_reload_memory_map() (which is renamed accordingly to
cpu_reloading_memory_map() as it is only responsible for breaking
cpu-exec.c's RCU critical section now). This lets us keep the definition
of the CPUAddressSpace struct private to exec.c.

Provide a method to throttle guest cpu execution. CPUState is augmented with
timeout controls and throttle start/stop functions. To throttle the guest cpu
the caller simply has to call the throttle set function and provide a percentage
of throttle time.

Signals are slow and do not exist on Win32. The previous patches
have done most of the legwork to introduce memory barriers (some
of them were even there already for the sake of Windows!) and
we can now set the flags directly in the iothread.
qemu_cpu_kick_thread is not used anymore on TCG, since the TCG thread is
never outside usermode while the CPU is running (not halted). Instead run
the content of the signal handler (now in qemu_cpu_kick_no_halt) directly.
qemu_cpu_kick_no_halt is also used in qemu_mutex_lock_iothread to avoid
the overhead of qemu_cond_broadcast.

After commit 626cf8f (icount: set can_do_io outside TB execution,
2014-12-08), can_do_io is set to 1 if not executing code. It is
no longer necessary to make this assumption in cpu_can_do_io.
It is also possible to remove the use_icount test, simply by
never setting cpu->can_do_io to 0 unless use_icount is true.
With these changes cpu_can_do_io boils down to a read of
cpu->can_do_io.

Currently CPUState::cpu_index is monotonically increasing and a newly
created CPU always gets the next higher index. The next available
index is calculated by counting the existing number of CPUs. This is
fine as long as we only add CPUs, but there are architectures which
are starting to support CPU removal, too. For an architecture like PowerPC
which derives its CPU identifier (device tree ID) from cpu_index, the
existing logic of generating cpu_index values causes problems.
With the currently proposed method of handling vCPU removal by parking
the vCPU fd in QEMU
(Ref: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2015-02/msg02604.html),
generating cpu_index this way will not work for PowerPC.
This patch changes the way cpu_index is handed out by maintaining
a bit map of the CPUs that tracks both addition and removal of CPUs.
The CPU bitmap allocation logic is part of cpu_exec_init(), which is
called by instance_init routines of various CPU targets. Newly added
cpu_exec_exit() API handles the deallocation part and this routine is
called from generic CPU instance_finalize.
Note: This new CPU enumeration is for !CONFIG_USER_ONLY only.
CONFIG_USER_ONLY continues to have the old enumeration logic.

Now that properties can be explicitly registered as an enum
type, there is no need to pass the string table to the
object_get_enum() function. The object property registration
already has a pointer to the string table.
In changing this method signature, the hostmem backend object
has to be converted to use the new enum property registration
code, which simplifies it somewhat.

A QOM property can be parsed as enum using the visit_type_enum()
helper function, but this forces callers to use the more complex
generic object_property_add() method when registering it. It
also requires that users of that object have access to the
string map when they want to read the property value.
This patch introduces a specialized object_property_add_enum()
method which simplifies the use of enum properties, so the
setters/getters directly get passed the int value.

The enum string table parameters in various QOM/QAPI methods
are declared 'const char *strings[]'. This results in const
warnings if passed a variable that was declared as
static const char * const strings[] = { .... };
Add the extra const annotation to the parameters, since
neither the string elements, nor the array itself should
ever be modified.

It is reasonably common to want to create an object, set a
number of properties, register it in the hierarchy and then
mark it as complete (if a user creatable type). This requires
quite a lot of error prone, verbose, boilerplate code to achieve.
First a pair of functions object_set_props() / object_set_propv()
are added which allow for a list of objects to be set in
one single API call.
Then object_new_with_props() / object_new_with_propv() constructors
are added which simplify the sequence of calls to create an
object, populate properties, register in the object composition
tree and mark the object complete, into a single method call.
Usage would be:

Capture the memory attributes for the transaction which triggered
a watchpoint; this allows CPU specific code to implement features
like ARM's "user-mode only WPs also hit for LDRT/STRT accesses
made from privileged code". This change also correctly passes
through the memory attributes to the underlying device when
a watchpoint access doesn't hit.

The mc146818rtc driver exposes the current RTC date and time via the "date"
property in QOM (which is also aliased to the machine's "rtc-time"
property). Currently it uses a custom visitor function rtc_get_date to
do this.
This patch introduces new helpers to the QOM core to expose struct tm
valued properties via a getter function, so that this functionality can be
more easily duplicated in other RTC implementations.

After the previous patch, TLBs will be flushed on every change to
the memory mapping. This patch augments that with synchronization
of the MemoryRegionSections referred to in the iotlb array.
With this change, it is guaranteed that iotlb_to_region will access
the correct memory map, even once the TLB will be accessed outside
the BQL.

GDB assumes that watchpoint set via the gdbstub remote protocol will
behave in the same way as hardware watchpoints for the target. In
particular, whether the CPU stops with the PC before or after the insn
which triggers the watchpoint is target dependent. Allow guest CPU
code to specify which behaviour to use. This fixes a bug where with
guest CPUs which stop before the accessing insn GDB would manually
step forward over what it thought was the insn and end up one insn
further forward than it should be.
We set this flag for the CPU architectures which set
gdbarch_have_nonsteppable_watchpoint in gdb 7.7:
ARM, CRIS, LM32, MIPS and Xtensa.

When we check whether we've hit a watchpoint we know the address
that we were attempting to access and whether it was a read or a
write. Record this information in the CPUWatchpoint struct so that
target-specific code can report it to the guest.

The current implementation of watchpoints requires that they
have a power of 2 length which is not greater than TARGET_PAGE_SIZE
and that their address is a multiple of their length. Watchpoints
on ARM don't fit these restrictions, so change the implementation
so they can be relaxed.

It may be desirable to have custom link<> properties that do more
than just store an object. Even the addition of a "check"
function is not enough if setting the link has side effects
or if a non-standard reference counting is preferrable.
Avoid the assumption that the opaque field of a link<> is a
LinkProperty struct, by adding a generic "resolve" callback
to ObjectProperty. This fixes aliases of link properties.

Sometimes an object needs to present a property which is actually on
another object, or it needs to provide an alias name for an existing
property.
Examples:
a.foo -> b.foo
a.old_name -> a.new_name
The new object_property_add_alias() API allows objects to alias a
property on the same object or another object. The source and target
names can be different.

If we want to support targets that can change endianness (modern PPC and
ARM for the moment), we need to add a per-CPU class method to be called
from the virtio code. The virtio_ prefix in the name is a hint for people
to avoid misusage (aka. anywhere but from the virtio code).
The default behaviour is to return the compile-time default target
endianness.

CPU address spaces touching load and store helpers as well as the
movement of (almost) all fields from CPU_COMMON to CPUState have led to
a noticeable increase of CPU() usage in "hot" paths for both TCG and KVM.
While CPU()'s OBJECT_CHECK() might help detect development errors, i.e.
in form of crashes due to QOM vs. non-QOM mismatches rather than QOM
type mismatches, it is not really needed at runtime since mostly used in
CPU-specific paths, coming from a target-specific CPU subtype. If that
pointer is damaged, other errors are highly likely to occur elsewhere
anyway.
Keep the CPU() macro for a consistent developer experience and for
flexibility to exchange its implementation, but turn it into a pure,
unchecked C cast for now.

There are currently three types of object_property_add_link() callers:
1. The link property may be set at any time.
2. The link property of a DeviceState instance may only be set before
realize.
3. The link property may never be set, it is read-only.
Something similar can already be achieved with
object_property_add_str()'s set() argument. Follow its example and add
a check() argument to object_property_add_link().
Also provide default check() functions for case #1 and #2. Case #3 is
covered by passing a NULL function pointer.

Some object_property_add_link() callers expect property deletion to
unref the link property object. Other callers expect to manage the
refcount themselves. The former are currently broken and therefore leak
the link property object.
This patch adds a flags argument to object_property_add_link() so the
caller can specify which refcount behavior they require. The new
OBJ_PROP_LINK_UNREF_ON_RELEASE flag causes the link pointer to be
unreferenced when the property is deleted.
This fixes refcount leaks in qdev.c, xilinx_axidma.c, xilinx_axienet.c,
s390-virtio-bus.c, virtio-pci.c, virtio-rng.c, and ui/console.c.
Rationale for refcount behavior:
* hw/core/qdev.c
- bus children are explicitly unreferenced, don't interfere
- parent_bus is essentially a read-only property that doesn't hold a
refcount, don't unref
- hotplug_handler is leaked, do unref
* hw/dma/xilinx_axidma.c
- rx stream "dma" links are set using set_link, therefore they
need unref
- tx streams are set using set_link, therefore they need unref
* hw/net/xilinx_axienet.c
- same reasoning as hw/dma/xilinx_axidma.c
* hw/pcmcia/pxa2xx.c
- pxa2xx bypasses set_link and therefore does not use refcounts
* hw/s390x/s390-virtio-bus.c
* hw/virtio/virtio-pci.c
* hw/virtio/virtio-rng.c
* ui/console.c
- set_link is used and there is no explicit unref, do unref

This will be used by "info qtree". For numbers it prints both the
decimal and hex values. For sizes it rounds to the nearest power
of 2^10. For strings, it puts quotes around the string and separates
NULL and empty string.

Introduces USER_CREATABLE interface that must be implemented by
objects which are designed to created with -object CLI option or
object-add QMP command.
Interface provides an ability to do an optional second stage
initialization of the object created with -object/object-add
commands. By providing complete() callback, which is called
after the object properties were set.
It allows to:
* prevents misusing of -object/object-add by filtering out
objects that are not designed for it.
* generalize second stage backend initialization instead of
adding custom APIs to perform it
* early error detection of backend initialization at -object/
object-add time rather than through a proxy DEVICE object
that tries to use backend.

There should be no need to look up nor enumerate the interface "types",
whose "classes" are really just vtables. Just create the types and
add them to the interface list of the parent type.
Interfaces not registering their type anymore means that accessing
superclass::interface by type name will fail when initializing
subclass::interface. Thus, we need to pre-initialize the subclass's
parent_type field before calling type_initialize. Apart from this, the
interface "types" should never be used and thus it is harmless to leave
them out of the hashtable.
Further, the interface types had a bug with interfaces that are
inherited from a superclass: The implementation type name was wrong
(for example it was subclass::superclass::interface rather than
just subclass::interface). This patch fixes this as well.

The object-cast and class-cast caches cannot be shared because class
caching is conditional on the target type not being an interface and
object caching is unconditional. Leads to a bug when a class cast
to an interface follows an object cast to the same interface type:
FooObject = FOO(obj);
FooClass = FOO_GET_CLASS(obj);
Where TYPE_FOO is an interface. The first (object) cast will be
successful and cache the casting result (i.e. TYPE_FOO will be cached).
The second (class) cast will then check the shared cast cache
and register a hit. The issue is, when a class cast hits in the cache
it just returns a pointer cast of the input class (i.e. the concrete
class).
When casting to an interface, the cast itself must return the
interface class, not the concrete class. The implementation of class
cast caching already ensures that the returned cast result is only
a pointer cast before caching. The object cast logic however does
not have this check.
Resolve by just splitting the object and class caches.

Commit a0e372f0c4 reorganized the register
counting for GDB. While it seems correct not to let the total number of
registers skyrocket in an SMP scenario through a static variable, the
distinction between total register count and 'g' packet register count
(last_reg vs. num_g_regs) got lost among the way.
Fix this by introducing CPUState::gdb_num_g_regs and using that in
gdb_handle_packet().

CPUState::gdb_num_regs replaces num_g_regs.
CPUClass::gdb_num_core_regs replaces NUM_CORE_REGS.
Allows building gdb_register_coprocessor() for xtensa, too.
As a side effect this should fix coprocessor register numbering for SMP.

Make inline target_memory_rw_debug() always available and change its
argument to CPUState. Let it check if CPUClass::memory_rw_debug provides
a specialized callback and fall back to cpu_memory_rw_debug() otherwise.
The only overriding implementation is for 32-bit sparc.
This prepares for changing GDBState::g_cpu to CPUState.

This patch adds a small typename cache to ObjectClass. This allows
caching positive casts within each ObjectClass. Benchmarking a
PPC workload provided by Aurelien, this patch eliminates every
single g_hash_table_lookup() happening during the benchmark (which
was about 2 million per-second).
With this patch applied, I get exactly the same performance (within
the margin of error) as with --disable-qom-cast-debug.
N.B. it's safe to cache typenames only from the _assert() macros
because they are always called with string literals.

Cast debugging can have a substantial cost (20% or more). Instead of adding
special-cased "fast casts" in the hot paths, we can just disable it in
releases. The tracing facilities we just added make it easier to analyze
those problems that cast debugging would reveal.

get_arch_id() adds possibility for generic code to get a guest-visible
CPU ID without accessing CPUArchState.
If derived classes don't override it, it will return cpu_index.
Override it on target-i386 in X86CPU to return the APIC ID.

This removes a global per-target function and thus takes us one step
closer to compiling multiple targets into one executable.
It will also allow to override the interrupt handling for certain CPU

Move it to qom/cpu.c to avoid build failures depending on include order
of cpu-qom.h and exec/cpu-all.h.
Change opaques of various ..._irq_handler() functions to the
appropriate CPU type to facilitate using cpu_reset_interrupt().

In comparison to DeviceClass::vmsd, CPU VMState is split in two,
"cpu_common" and "cpu", and uses cpu_index as instance_id instead of -1.
Therefore add a CPU-specific CPUClass::vmsd field.
Unlike the legacy CPUArchState registration, rather register CPUState.

Fix some of the nasty TCG race conditions and crashes by implementing
cpu_exit() as setting a flag which is checked at the start of each TB.
This avoids crashes if a thread or signal handler calls cpu_exit()
while the execution thread is itself modifying the TB graph (which
may happen in system emulation mode as well as in linux-user mode
with a multithreaded guest binary).
This fixes the crashes seen in LP:668799; however there are another
class of crashes described in LP:1098729 which stem from the fact
that in linux-user with a multithreaded guest all threads will
use and modify the same global TCG date structures (including the
generated code buffer) without any kind of locking. This means that
multithreaded guest binaries are still in the "unsupported"
category.

The target-specific ENV_GET_CPU() macros have allowed us to navigate
from CPUArchState to CPUState. The reverse direction was not supported.
Avoid introducing CPU_GET_ENV() macros by initializing an untyped
pointer that is initialized in derived instance_init functions.
The field may not be called "env" due to it being poisoned.

Commits fc8c5b8c41 (Makefile.user: Define
CONFIG_USER_ONLY for libuser/) and
dd83b06ae6 (qom: Introduce CPU class)
specifically prepared the qom/cpu.c file to be compiled differently for
softmmu and *-user. This broke as part of build system refactorings
while CPU patches were in flight, adding conditional fields
kvm_fd (8737c51c04) and
kvm_vcpu_dirty (20d695a925) for softmmu.
linux-user and bsd-user would therefore get a CPUState type with
instance_size ~8 bytes longer than expected.
Fix this by unconditionally having the fields in CPUState.
In practice, target-specific CPU types' instance_size would compensate
this, and upstream qom/cpu.c does not yet touch any affected field.

Note that target-alpha accesses this field from TCG, now using a
negative offset. Therefore the field is placed last in CPUState.
Pass PowerPCCPU to [kvm]ppc_fixup_cpu() to facilitate this change.
Move common parts of mips cpu_state_reset() to mips_cpu_reset().

Since 39bffca203 (qdev: register all
types natively through QEMU Object Model), TypeInfo as used in
the common, non-iterative pattern is no longer amended with information
and should therefore be const.
Fix the documented QOM examples:
sed -i 's/static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' include/qom/object.h
Since frequently the wrong examples are being copied by contributors of
new devices, fix all types in the tree:
sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*.c
sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*/*.c
This also avoids to piggy-back these changes onto real functional
changes or other refactorings.

This finally makes the CPU class a subclass of the Device class,
allowing us to start using DeviceState properties on CPU subclasses.
It has no_user=1, as creating CPUs using -device doesn't work yet.
