Paolo Bonzini 67163caeba minikconf: fix parser typo
The result of this typo would be that "select_foo" would be treated as a "select"
keyword followed by "_foo". Nothing too bad, but easy to fix so let's be clean.

Peter Xu 4b519ef1de intel-iommu: optimize nodmar memory regions
Previously we have per-device system memory aliases when DMAR is
disabled by the system. It will slow the system down if there are
lots of devices especially when DMAR is disabled, because each of the
aliased system address space will contain O(N) slots, and rendering
such N address spaces will be O(N^2) complexity.

This patch introduces a shared nodmar memory region and for each
device we only create an alias to the shared memory region. With the
aliasing, QEMU memory core API will be able to detect when devices are
sharing the same address space (which is the nodmar address space)
when rendering the FlatViews and the total number of FlatViews can be
dramatically reduced when there are a lot of devices.

Thomas Huth 3e3fdad6e1 hw/char/parallel: Make it possible to compile also without CONFIG_PARALLEL
For the downstream distribution of QEMU, we want to compile without
CONFIG_PARALLEL. Commit 9157eee1b1 already moved the function
parallel_hds_isa_init() (which is still required for linking) into a file
that is included anyway, but commit bb3d5ea858 moved it
to a separate file which is only compiled again if CONFIG_PARALLEL is
set. To be able to link QEMU again without CONFIG_PARALLEL, the file
should be considered for linking for all targets that have CONFIG_ISA_BUS.
And while we're at it, add a proper comment in there with the rationale
for the separate file.

Singh, Brijesh cedc0ad539 target/i386: sev: Do not pin the ram device memory region
The RAM device presents a memory region that should be handled
as an IO region and should not be pinned.

In the case of the vfio-pci, RAM device represents a MMIO BAR

KVM_MEMORY_ENCRYPT_REG_REGION fails to lock the memory range.

Singh, Brijesh 2ddb89b00f memory: Fix the memory region type assignment order
Currently, a callback registered through the RAMBlock notifier
is not able to get the memory region type (i.e callback is not
able to use memory_region_is_ram_device function). This is
because mr->ram assignment happens _after_ the memory is allocated
whereas the callback is executed during allocation.

Paolo Bonzini d6c1bd4a22 kconfig: add dependencies on CONFIG_MSI_NONBROKEN
For devices that require msi_init/msix_init to succeed, add a

Paolo Bonzini ca9b7e29de kconfig: add CONFIG_MSI_NONBROKEN
Not all interrupt controllers have a working implementation of
message-signalled interrupts; in some cases, the guest may expect
MSI to work but it won't due to the buggy or lacking emulation.

In QEMU this is represented by the "msi_nonbroken" variable. This
patch adds a new configuration symbol enabled whenever the binary
contains an interrupt controller that will set "msi_nonbroken". We
can then use it to remove devices that cannot be possibly added
to the machine, because they require MSI.

Peter Maydell 1fa87eb56e target/riscv: Convert to decodetree
Bastian: this patchset converts the RISC-V decoder to decodetree in four major steps:

 1) Convert 32-bit instructions to decodetree [Patch 1-15]:
Many of the gen_* functions are called by the decode functions for 16-bit
and 32-bit functions. If we move translation code from the gen_*
functions to the generated trans_* functions of decode-tree, we get a lot of
duplication. Therefore, we mostly generate calls to the old gen_* function
which are properly replaced after step 2).

Each of the trans_ functions are grouped into files corresponding to their
ISA extension, e.g. addi which is in RV32I is translated in the file
     'trans_rvi.inc.c'.

 2) Convert 16-bit instructions to decodetree [Patch 16-18]:
All 16 bit instructions have a direct mapping to a 32 bit instruction. Thus,
we convert the arguments in the 16 bit trans_ function to the arguments of
the corresponding 32 bit instruction and call the 32 bit trans_ function.

 3) Remove old manual decoding in gen_* function [Patch 19-29]:
this move all manual translation code into the trans_* instructions of
decode tree, such that we can remove the old decode_* functions.

Palmer: This, with some additional cleanup patches, passed Alistar's
testing on rv32 and rv64 as well as my testing on rv64, so I think it's
good to go. I've run my standard test against this exact tag.

I still don't have a Mac to try this on, sorry!

Daniel P. Berrangé 1f773d9dd3 configure: remove slirp submodule support that doesn't exist yet
The slirp code is not yet split off into a separate repository, so
configuring QEMU to use slirp as a submodule is premature. This
causes the non-existant "slirp" to be requested from git when syncing
submodules. This in turn appears to be cause of non-deterministic
failures some developers are seeing with QEMU's submodule sync process.

Stefan Hajnoczi f357fcd890 file-posix: add drop-cache=on|off option
Commit dd577a26ff ("block/file-posix:
implement bdrv_co_invalidate_cache() on Linux") introduced page cache
invalidation so that cache.direct=off live migration is safe on Linux.

The invalidation takes a significant amount of time when the file is
large and present in the page cache. Normally this is not the case for
cross-host live migration but it can happen when migrating between QEMU
processes on the same host.

On same-host migration we don't need to invalidate pages for correctness
anyway, so an option to skip page cache invalidation is useful. I
investigated optimizing invalidation and detecting same-host migration,
but both are hard to achieve so a user-visible option will suffice.

As a bonus this option means that the cache invalidation feature will
now be detectable by libvirt via QMP schema introspection.
