2ec063788e hw/gpio/aspeed_gpio: Fix QOM pin property
I was setting gpioV4-7 to "1110" using the QOM pin property handler and
noticed that lowering gpioV7 was inadvertently lowering gpioV4-6 too.

    (qemu) qom-set /machine/soc/gpio gpioV4 true
    (qemu) qom-set /machine/soc/gpio gpioV5 true
    (qemu) qom-set /machine/soc/gpio gpioV6 true
    (qemu) qom-get /machine/soc/gpio gpioV4
    true
    (qemu) qom-set /machine/soc/gpio gpioV7 false
    (qemu) qom-get /machine/soc/gpio gpioV4
    false

An expression in aspeed_gpio_set_pin_level was using a logical NOT
operator instead of a bitwise NOT operator:

    value &= !pin_mask;

The original author probably intended to make a bitwise NOT expression
"~", but mistakenly used a logical NOT operator "!" instead. Some
programming languages like Rust use "!" for both purposes.

cd6174843b exec/exec-all: Move 'qemu/log.h' include in units requiring it
Many files use "qemu/log.h" declarations but neglect to include
it (they inherit it via "exec/exec-all.h"). "exec/exec-all.h" is
a core component and shouldn't be used that way. Move the
"qemu/log.h" inclusion locally to each unit requiring it.

17e3134061 Remove unnecessary minimum_version_id_old fields
The migration code will not look at a VMStateDescription's
minimum_version_id_old field unless that VMSD has set the
load_state_old field to something non-NULL. (The purpose of
minimum_version_id_old is to specify what migration version is needed
for the code in the function pointed to by load_state_old to be able
to handle it on incoming migration.)

We have exactly one VMSD which still has a load_state_old,
in the PPC CPU; every other VMSD which sets minimum_version_id_old
is doing so unnecessarily. Delete all the unnecessary ones.

Commit created with:
  sed -i '/\.minimum_version_id_old/d' $(git grep -l '\.minimum_version_id_old')

87bd33e8b0 hw: aspeed_gpio: Fix GPIO array indexing
The gpio array is declared as a dense array:

  qemu_irq gpios[ASPEED_GPIO_NR_PINS];

(AST2500 has 228, AST2400 has 216, AST2600 has 208)

However, this array is used like a matrix of GPIO sets
(e.g. gpio[NR_SETS][NR_PINS_PER_SET] = gpio[8][32])

  size_t offset = set * GPIOS_PER_SET + gpio;
  qemu_set_irq(s->gpios[offset], !!(new & mask));

This can result in an out-of-bounds access to "s->gpios" because the
gpio sets do _not_ have the same length. Some of the groups (e.g.
GPIOAB) only have 4 pins. 228 != 8 * 32 == 256.

To fix this, I converted the gpio array from dense to sparse, to that
match both the hardware layout and this existing indexing code.

9fffe140a9 hw: aspeed_gpio: Fix pin I/O type declarations
Some of the pin declarations in the Aspeed GPIO module were incorrect,
probably because of confusion over which bits in the input and output
uint32_t's correspond to which groups in the label array. Since the
uint32_t literals are in big endian, it's sort of the opposite of what
would be intuitive. The least significant bit in ast2500_set_props[6]
corresponds to GPIOY0, not GPIOAB7.

GPIOxx indicates input and output capabilities, GPIxx indicates only
input, GPOxx indicates only output.

AST2500:
- Previously had GPIW0..GPIW7 and GPIX0..GPIX7, that's correct.
- Previously had GPIOY0..GPIOY3, should have been GPIOY0..GPIOY7.
- Previously had GPIOAB0..GPIOAB3 and GPIAB4..GPIAB7, should only have
  been GPIOAB0..GPIOAB3.

AST2600:
- GPIOT0..GPIOT7 should have been GPIT0..GPIT7.
- GPIOU0..GPIOU7 should have been GPIU0..GPIU7.
- GPIW0..GPIW7 should have been GPIOW0..GPIOW7.
- GPIOY0..GPIOY7 and GPIOZ0...GPIOZ7 were disabled.

e229a179a5 hw: aspeed_gpio: Fix memory size
The macro used to calculate the maximum memory size of the MMIO region
had a mistake, causing all GPIO models to create a mapping of 0x9D8.
The intent was to have it be 0x9D8 - 0x800.

This extra size doesn't matter on ast2400 and ast2500, which have a 4KB
region set aside for the GPIO controller.

On the ast2600 the 3.3V and 1.8V GPIO controllers are 2KB apart, so the
regions would overlap. Worse was the 1.8V controller would map over the
top of the following peripheral, which happens to be the RTC.

The mmio region used by each device is a maximum of 2KB, so avoid the
calculations and hard code this as the maximum.

0642e159d2 hw/gpio/pl061: Document a shortcoming in our implementation
The Luminary PL061s in the Stellaris LM3S9695 don't all have the same
reset value for GPIOPUR. We can get away with not letting the board
configure the PUR reset value because we don't actually wire anything
up to the lines which should reset to pull-up. Add a comment noting
this omission.

ef4989b0a8 hw/gpio/pl061: Convert to 3-phase reset and assert GPIO lines correctly on reset
The PL061 comes out of reset with all its lines configured as input,
which means they might need to be pulled to 0 or 1 depending on the
'pullups' and 'pulldowns' properties. Currently we do not assert
these lines on reset; they will only be set whenever the guest first
touches a register that triggers a call to pl061_update().

Convert the device to three-phase reset so we have a place where we
can safely call qemu_set_irq() to set the floating lines to their
correct values.

c1e69e92ae hw/gpio/pl061: Make pullup/pulldown of outputs configurable
The PL061 GPIO does not itself include pullup or pulldown resistors
to set the value of a GPIO line treated as an output when it is
configured as an input (ie when the PL061 itself is not driving it).
In real hardware it is up to the board to add suitable pullups or
pulldowns. Currently our implementation hardwires this to "outputs
pulled high", which is correct for some boards (eg the realview ones:
see figure 3-29 in the "RealView Platform Baseboard for ARM926EJ-S
User Guide" DUI0224I), but wrong for others.

In particular, the wiring in the 'virt' board and the gpio-pwr device
assumes that wires should be pulled low, because otherwise the
pull-to-high will trigger a shutdown or reset action. (The only
reason this doesn't happen immediately on startup is due to another
bug in the PL061, where we don't assert the GPIOs to the correct
value on reset, but will do so as soon as the guest touches a
register and pl061_update() gets called.)

Add properties to the pl061 so the board can configure whether it
wants GPIO lines to have pullup, pulldown, or neither.

ad06d56fc7 hw/gpio/pl061: Honour Luminary PL061 PUR and PDR registers
The Luminary variant of the PL061 has registers GPIOPUR and GPIOPDR
which lets the guest configure whether the GPIO lines are pull-up,
pull-down, or truly floating. Instead of assuming all lines are pulled
high, honour the PUR and PDR registers.

For the plain PL061, continue to assume that lines have an external
pull-up resistor, as we did before.

The stellaris board actually relies on this behaviour -- the CD line
of the ssd0323 display device is connected to GPIO output C7, and it
is only because of a different bug which we're about to fix that we
weren't incorrectly driving this line high on reset and putting the
ssd0323 into data mode.

4921a0ce86 hw/riscv: Move sifive_gpio model to hw/gpio
This is an effort to clean up the hw/riscv directory. Ideally it
should only contain the RISC-V SoC / machine codes plus generic
codes. Let's move sifive_gpio model to hw/gpio directory.

Note this also removes the trace-events in the hw/riscv directory,
since gpio is the only supported trace target in that directory.

db1015e92e Move QOM typedefs and add missing includes
Some typedefs and macros are defined after the type check macros.
This makes it difficult to automatically replace their
definitions with OBJECT_DECLARE_TYPE.

Patch generated using:

 $ ./scripts/codeconverter/converter.py -i \
   --pattern=QOMStructTypedefSplit $(git grep -l '' -- '*.[ch]')

which will split "typdef struct { ... } TypedefName"
declarations.

Followed by:

 $ ./scripts/codeconverter/converter.py -i --pattern=MoveSymbols \
    $(git grep -l '' -- '*.[ch]')

which will:
- move the typedefs and #defines above the type check macros
- add missing #include "qom/object.h" lines if necessary

243af0225a trace: switch position of headers to what Meson requires
Meson doesn't enjoy the same flexibility we have with Make in choosing
the include path. In particular the tracing headers are using
$(build_root)/$(<D).

In order to keep the include directives unchanged,
the simplest solution is to generate headers with patterns like
"trace/trace-audio.h" and place forwarding headers in the source tree
such that for example "audio/trace.h" includes "trace/trace-audio.h".

This patch is too ugly to be applied to the Makefiles now. It's only
a way to separate the changes to the tracing header files from the
Meson rewrite of the tracing logic.

    @@
    -    Error *err = NULL;

Not exactly elegant, I'm afraid.

The "when != lbl:" is necessary to avoid transforming

         if (fun(args, &err)) {
             goto out
         }
         ...
     out:
         error_propagate(errp, err);

even though other paths to label out still need the error_propagate().
For an actual example, see sclp_realize().

Without the "when strict", Coccinelle transforms vfio_msix_setup(),
incorrectly. I don't know what exactly "when strict" does, only that
it helps here.

The match of return is narrower than what I want, but I can't figure
out how to express "return where the operand doesn't use @err". For
an example where it's too narrow, see vfio_intx_enable().

Silently fails to convert hw/arm/armsse.c, because Coccinelle gets
confused by ARMSSE being used both as typedef and function-like macro
there.  Converted manually.

Line breaks tidied up manually. One nested declaration of @local_err
deleted manually. Preexisting unwanted blank line dropped in
hw/riscv/sifive_e.c.

a0a8cf78e0 hw/gpio/zaurus.c: Use LOG_GUEST_ERROR for bad guest register accesses
Instead of logging guest accesses to invalid register offsets in this
device using zaurus_printf() (which just prints to stderr), use the
usual qemu_log_mask(LOG_GUEST_ERROR,...).

Since this was the only use of the zaurus_printf() macro outside
spitz.c, we can move the definition of that macro from sharpsl.h
to spitz.c.

d2623129a7 qom: Drop parameter @errp of object_property_add() & friends
The only way object_property_add() can fail is when a property with
the same name already exists. Since our property names are all
hardcoded, failure is a programming error, and the appropriate way to
handle it is passing &error_abort.

Same for its variants, except for object_property_add_child(), which
additionally fails when the child already has a parent. Parentage is
also under program control, so this is a programming error, too.

We have a bit over 500 callers. Almost half of them pass
&error_abort, slightly fewer ignore errors, one test case handles
errors, and the remaining few callers pass them to their own callers.

The previous few commits demonstrated once again that ignoring
programming errors is a bad idea.

Of the few ones that pass on errors, several violate the Error API.
The Error ** argument must be NULL, &error_abort, &error_fatal, or a
pointer to a variable containing NULL. Passing an argument of the
latter kind twice without clearing it in between is wrong: if the
first call sets an error, it no longer points to NULL for the second
call.  ich9_pm_add_properties(), sparc32_ledma_realize(),
sparc32_dma_realize(), xilinx_axidma_realize(), xilinx_enet_realize()
are wrong that way.

When the one appropriate choice of argument is &error_abort, letting
users pick the argument is a bad idea.

Drop parameter @errp and assert the preconditions instead.

There's one exception to "duplicate property name is a programming
error": the way object_property_add() implements the magic (and
undocumented) "automatic arrayification". Don't drop @errp there.
Instead, rename object_property_add() to object_property_try_add(),
and add the obvious wrapper object_property_add().

c88311f272 hw/gpio/aspeed_gpio.c: Don't directly include assert.h
Remove a direct include of assert.h -- this is already
provided by qemu/osdep.h, and it breaks our rule that the
first include must always be osdep.h.

In particular we must get the assert() macro via osdep.h
to avoid compile failures on mingw (see the comment in
osdep.h where we redefine assert() for that platform).

3ab5a6ece5 hw/*/Makefile.objs: Move many .o files to common-objs
We have many files that apparently do not depend on the target CPU
configuration, i.e. which can be put into common-obj-y instead of
obj-y. This way, the code can be shared for example between
qemu-system-arm and qemu-system-aarch64, or the various big and
little endian variants like qemu-system-sh4 and qemu-system-sh4eb,
so that we do not have to compile the code multiple times anymore.
