1f81f94beb hw/arm_sysctl: Implement SYS_CFG_OSC function
Implement the SYS_CFG_OSC function. Since the idea of
programmable clock rates doesn't make much sense for QEMU,
we simply allow the clock rate to be read back as written.
The number and value of the daughterboard oscillators varies
between daughterboards, so we provide an array property to
allow their reset values to be configured.

8bd4824a61 hw/arm_sysctl: Implement SYS_CFG_VOLT
Implement the SYS_CFG_VOLT registers which return the voltage
of various supplies on motherboard and daughterboard. Since
QEMU implements a perfectly stable power supply these registers
always return a constant value. The number and value of the
daughterboard voltages is dependent on the specific daughterboard,
so we use a property array to allow the board to configure them
appropriately.

291155cbc5 hw/arm_sysctl: Implement SYS_CFG_DVIMODE as a no-op
SYS_CFG_DVIMODE allows the guest to select whether the

this makes no difference to QEMU, implement writes as a
no-op so Linux doesn't complain.

SYS_CFG_MUXFPGA allows the guest to select whether the
video output should come from the motherboard's LCD
controller or the daughterboard's one. Since QEMU doesn't
currently support selecting the video output like this,
implement as a no-op, so Linux doesn't complain about
the register not being implemented.

7153832335 hw/arm_sysctl: Handle SYS_CFGCTRL in a more structured way
The SYS_CFGCTRL register consists of separate fields
for DCC, function, site, position and device, as well
as a read/write bit. Refactor the code handling SYS_CFGCTRL
writes to make it easier to add support for functions
like SYS_CFG_OSC which support multiple device fields.
We also pull the handling out into its own function for
clarity, as there are potentially a lot of implementable
subfunctions.

83c9f4ca79 hw: include hw header files with full paths
Done with this script:

cd hw
for i in `find . -name '*.h' | sed 's/^..//'`; do
  echo '\,^#.*include.*["<]'$i'[">], s,'$i',hw/&,'
done | sed -i -f - `find . -type f`

This is so that paths remain valid as files are moved.

Instead, files in hw/dataplane are referenced with the relative path.
We know they are not going to move to include/, and they are the only
include files that are in subdirectories _and_ move.

bf4229d3cb hw/arm_sysctl.c: Add missing 'break' statements
Add some break statements that were accidentally omitted
from some cases of arm_sysctl_write(). The omission was
harmless because in both cases the following case did
an immediate break, but adding the breaks explicitly
placates static analysers and avoids weird behaviour if
the following register is ever implemented as something
other than a no-op.

8c43a6f05d Make all static TypeInfos const
Since 39bffca203 (qdev: register all
types natively through QEMU Object Model), TypeInfo as used in
the common, non-iterative pattern is no longer amended with information
and should therefore be const.

Fix the documented QOM examples:

 sed -i 's/static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' include/qom/object.h

Since frequently the wrong examples are being copied by contributors of
new devices, fix all types in the tree:

 sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*.c
 sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*/*.c

This also avoids to piggy-back these changes onto real functional
changes or other refactorings.

a8170e5e97 Rename target_phys_addr_t to hwaddr
target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are
reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t

Outstanding patchsets can be fixed up with the command

39bffca203 qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object Model
This was done in a mostly automated fashion. I did it in three steps and then
rebased it into a single step which avoids repeatedly touching every file in
the tree.

The first step was a sed-based addition of the parent type to the subclass
registration functions.

The second step was another sed-based removal of subclass registration functions
while also adding virtual functions from the base class into a class_init
function as appropriate.

Finally, a python script was used to convert the DeviceInfo structures and
qdev_register_subclass functions to TypeInfo structures, class_init functions,
and type_register_static calls.

We are almost fully converted to QOM after this commit.

242ea2c6bc versatilepb: Implement SYS_CLCD mux control register bits
On the Versatile PB, PL110 graphics adaptor only natively supports
5551 pixel format; an external mux swaps bits around to allow
RGB565 and BGR565, under the control of bits [1:0] in the SYS_CLCD
system register.

Implement these SYS_CLCD register bits, and use a gpio line to
feed them out of the system register model, across the versatilepb
board and into the pl110 so we can select the right format.

This is necessary as recent Linux versatile kernels default to
programming the CLCD and mux for 16 bit BGR rather than 16 bit RGB.

34933c8c94 hw/arm_sysctl.c: Add the Versatile Express system registers
Add support for the Versatile Express SYS_CFG registers, which provide
a generic means of reading or writing configuration information from
various parts of the board. We only implement shutdown and reset.

Also make the RESETCTL register RAZ/WI on Versatile Express rather
than reset the board. Other system registers are generally the same
as Versatile and Realview.

This includes a VMState version number bump for arm_sysctl,
since we have new register state to preserve. It also adds
sys_mci to the VMState while we're bumping the version number
(an accidental omission from commit b50ff6f5).

7447545544 change all other clock references to use nanosecond resolution accessors
This was done with:

    sed -i 's/qemu_get_clock\>/qemu_get_clock_ns/' \
        $(git grep -l 'qemu_get_clock\>' )
    sed -i 's/qemu_new_timer\>/qemu_new_timer_ns/' \
        $(git grep -l 'qemu_new_timer\>' )

after checking that get_clock and new_timer never occur twice
on the same line. There were no missed occurrences; however, even
if there had been, they would have been caught by the compiler.

There was exactly one false positive in qemu_run_timers:

     -    current_time = qemu_get_clock (clock);
     +    current_time = qemu_get_clock_ns (clock);

which is of course not in this patch.

2507c12ab0 Add endianness as io mem parameter
As stated before, devices can be little, big or native endian. The
target endianness is not of their concern, so we need to push things

This patch adds a parameter to cpu_register_io_memory that allows a

native endian, because that's the same behavior as before.

e23a1b33b5 New qdev_init_nofail()
Like qdev_init(), but terminate program via hw_error() instead of
returning an error value.

Use it instead of qdev_init() where terminating the program on failure
is okay, either because it's during machine construction, or because
we know that failure can't happen.

Because relying in the latter is somewhat unclean, and the former is
not always obvious, it would be nice to go back to qdev_init() in the
not-so-obvious cases, only with proper error handling. I'm leaving
that for another day, because it involves making sure that error
values are properly checked by all callers.

81a322d4a1 qdev: add return value to init() callbacks.
Sorry folks, but it has to be. One more of these invasive qdev patches.

We have a serious design bug in the qdev interface: device init
callbacks can't signal failure because the init() callback has no
return value. This patch fixes it.

We have already one case in-tree where this is needed:
Try -device virtio-blk-pci (without drive= specified) and watch qemu
segfault. This patch fixes it.

With usb+scsi being converted to qdev we'll get more devices where the
init callback can fail for various reasons.

ee6847d19b qdev: rework device properties.
This patch is a major overhaul of the device properties. The properties
are saved directly in the device state struct now, the linked list of
property values is gone.

Advantages:
  * We don't have to maintain the list with the property values.
  * The value in the property list and the value actually used by
the device can't go out of sync any more (used to happen for
the pci.devfn == -1 case) because there is only one place where
    the value is stored.
  * A record describing the property is required now, you can't set
    random properties any more.

There are bus-specific and device-specific properties. The former
should be used for properties common to all bus drivers. Typical
use case is bus addressing, i.e. pci.devfn and i2c.address.

Properties have a PropertyInfo struct attached with name, size and
function pointers to parse and print properties. A few common property
types have PropertyInfos defined in qdev-properties.c. Drivers are free
to implement their own very special property parsers if needed.

Properties can have default values. If unset they are zero-filled.
