Philippe Mathieu-Daudé 2090713f65 target/mips: Remove XBurst Media eXtension Unit dead code
All these unimplemented MXU opcodes end up calling
gen_reserved_instruction() which is the default switch
case in decode_opc_mxu().

The translate.c file is already big enough and hard to maintain,
remove 1300 lines of unnecessary code and /* TODO */ comments.

Andrew Jones bcb902a1ed hw/arm/virt: KVM: The IPA lower bound is 32
The virt machine already checks KVM_CAP_ARM_VM_IPA_SIZE to get the
upper bound of the IPA size. If that bound is lower than the highest
possible GPA for the machine, then QEMU will error out. However, the
IPA is set to 40 when the highest GPA is less than or equal to 40,
even when KVM may support an IPA limit as low as 32. This means KVM
may fail the VM creation unnecessarily. Additionally, 40 is selected
with the value 0, which means use the default, and that gets around
a check in some versions of KVM, causing a difficult to debug fail.
Always use the IPA size that corresponds to the highest possible GPA,
unless it's lower than 32, in which case use 32. Also, we must still
use 0 when KVM only supports the legacy fixed 40 bit IPA.

Richard Henderson c648c9b7e1 target/arm: Update sve reduction vs simd_desc
With the reduction operations, we intentionally increase maxsz to
the next power of 2, so as to fill out the reduction tree correctly.
Since e2e7168a21, oprsz must equal maxsz, with exceptions for small
vectors, so this triggers an assertion for vector sizes > 32 that are
not themselves a power of 2.

Pass the power-of-two value in the simd_data field instead.

Adjust all of the x + (y << s) to x | (y << s) as a style fix.

We only ever have exact overlap between D, M, and N.  Therefore
we only need a single temporary, and we do not need to check for
partial overlap.

general style fix.  Drop the extract64 because the input

Mark Cave-Ayland a9431a03f7 target/m68k: add M68K_FEATURE_UNALIGNED_DATA feature
According to the M68040UM Appendix D the requirement for data accesses to be
word aligned is only for the 68000, 68008 and 68010 CPUs. Later CPUs from the
68020 onwards will allow unaligned data accesses but at the cost of being less
efficient.

Add a new M68K_FEATURE_UNALIGNED_DATA feature to specify that data accesses are
not required to be word aligned, and don't perform the alignment on the stack
pointer when taking an exception if this feature is not selected.

This is required because the MacOS DAFB driver attempts to call an A-trap
with a byte-aligned stack pointer during initialisation and without this the
stack pointer is off by one when the A-trap returns.

Mark Cave-Ayland d6cbd8f7a1 target/m68k: don't set SSW ATC bit for physical bus errors
If a NuBus slot doesn't contain a card, the Quadra hardware generates a physical
bus error if the CPU attempts to access the slot address space. Both Linux and
MacOS use a separate bus error handler during NuBus accesses in order to detect
and recover when addressing empty slots.

According to the MC68040 users manual the ATC bit of the SSW is used to
distinguish between ATC faults and physical bus errors. MacOS specifically checks
the stack frame generated by a NuBus error and panics if the SSW ATC bit is set.

Update m68k_cpu_transaction_failed() so that the SSW ATC bit is not set if the
memory API returns MEMTX_DECODE_ERROR which will be used to indicate that an
access to an empty NuBus slot occurred.

Fabiano Rosas 936fda4d77 target/ppc: Fix bcdsub. emulation when result overflows
The commit d03b174a83 (target/ppc: simplify bcdadd/sub functions)
meant to simplify some of the code but it inadvertently altered the
way the CR6 field is set after the operation has overflowed.

The CR6 bits are set based on the *unbounded* result of the operation,
so we need to look at the result before returning from bcd_add_mag,
otherwise we will look at 0 when it overflows.

Consider the following subtraction:

v0 = 0x9999999999999999999999999999999c (maximum positive BCD value)
v1 = 0x0000000000000000000000000000001d (negative one BCD value)
bcdsub. v0,v0,v1,0

The Power ISA 2.07B says:
If the unbounded result is greater than zero, do the following.
  If PS=0, the sign code of the result is set to 0b1100.
  If PS=1, the sign code of the result is set to 0b1111.
  If the operation overflows, CR field 6 is set to 0b0101. Otherwise,
  CR field 6 is set to 0b0100.

POWER9 hardware:
vr0 = 0x0000000000000000000000000000000c (positive zero BCD value)
cr6 = 0b0101 (0x5) (positive, overflow)

QEMU:
vr0 = 0x0000000000000000000000000000000c (positive zero BCD value)
cr6 = 0b0011 (0x3) (zero, overflow) <--- wrong

This patch reverts the part of d03b174a83 that introduced the
problem and adds a test-case to avoid further regressions:

Thomas Huth 2cc1a90166 Remove deprecated target tilegx
TILE-Gx was only implemented in linux-user mode, but support for this CPU
was removed from the upstream Linux kernel in 2018, and it has also been
dropped from glibc, so there is no new Linux development taking place with
this architecture. For running the old binaries, users can simply use older
versions of QEMU.

Peter Maydell 5ee0abed51 clock: Add ClockEvent parameter to callbacks
The Clock framework allows users to specify a callback which is
called after the clock's period has been updated.  Some users need to
also have a callback which is called before the clock period is
updated.

As the first step in adding support for notifying Clock users on
pre-update events, add an argument to the ClockCallback to specify
what event is being notified, and add an argument to the various
functions for registering a callback to specify which events are
of interest to that callback.

Paolo Bonzini c6986f16a7 KVM: x86: do not fail if software breakpoint has already been removed
If kvm_arch_remove_sw_breakpoint finds that a software breakpoint does not
have an INT3 instruction, it fails.  This can happen if one sets a
software breakpoint in a kernel module and then reloads it.  gdb then
thinks the breakpoint cannot be deleted and there is no way to add it
back.

ARM has confirmed a defect in the pseudocode function
AArch64.TagCheckFault that makes it inconsistent with the above
wording. The remedy is to adjust references to PSTATE.EL in that
function to instead refer to AArch64.AccessUsesEL(acctype), so
that unprivileged instructions use SCTLR_EL1.TCF0 and TFSRE0_EL1.
The exception type for synchronous tag check faults remains unchanged.

This patch implements the described change by partially reverting
commits 50244cc76a and cc97b0019b.

Richard Henderson 519183d3fe target/arm: Speed up aarch64 TBL/TBX
Always perform one call instead of two for 16-byte operands.
Use byte loads/stores directly into the vector register file
instead of extractions and deposits to a 64-bit local variable.

In order to easily receive pointers into the vector register file,
convert the helper to the gvec out-of-line signature.  Move the
helper into vec_helper.c, where it can make use of H1 and clear_tail.

Christian Borntraeger 0110253e69 s390x/cpu_model: disallow unpack for --only-migratable
Secure execution (aka protected virtualization) guests cannot be
migrated at the moment. If the unpack facility is provided in the cpu
model, a guest may choose to transition to secure mode, making the
guest unmigratable at that point in time. If the machine was explicitly
started with --only-migratable, we would get a failure only when the
guest actually tries to transition; instead, explicitly disallow the
unpack facility if --only-migratable was specified to avoid late
surprises.

Philippe Mathieu-Daudé cefd68f6b1 target/mips: Promote 128-bit multimedia registers as global ones
The cpu::mmr[] array contains the upper halves of 128-bit GPR
registers. While they are only used by the R5900 CPU, the
concept is generic and could be used by another MIPS implementation.

Rename 'cpu::mmr' as 'cpu::gpr_hi' and make them global.

When the code is similar to the GPR lower halves, move it
close by.

Alexander Graf 106f91d59c hvf: Fetch cr4 before evaluating CPUID(1)
The CPUID function 1 has a bit called OSXSAVE which tells user space the
status of the CR4.OSXSAVE bit. Our generic CPUID function injects that bit
based on the status of CR4.

With Hypervisor.framework, we do not synchronize full CPU state often enough
for this function to see the CR4 update before guest user space asks for it.

To be on the save side, let's just always synchronize it when we receive a
CPUID(1) request. That way we can set the bit with real confidence.

Tom Lendacky 92a5199b29 sev/i386: Don't allow a system reset under an SEV-ES guest
An SEV-ES guest does not allow register state to be altered once it has
been measured. When an SEV-ES guest issues a reboot command, Qemu will
reset the vCPU state and resume the guest. This will cause failures under
SEV-ES. Prevent that from occuring by introducing an arch-specific
callback that returns a boolean indicating whether vCPUs are resettable.

Paolo Bonzini b2f73a0784 sev/i386: Allow AP booting under SEV-ES
When SEV-ES is enabled, it is not possible modify the guests register
state after it has been initially created, encrypted and measured.

Normally, an INIT-SIPI-SIPI request is used to boot the AP. However, the
hypervisor cannot emulate this because it cannot update the AP register
state. For the very first boot by an AP, the reset vector CS segment
value and the EIP value must be programmed before the register has been
encrypted and measured. Search the guest firmware for the guest for a
specific GUID that tells Qemu the value of the reset vector to use.

James Bottomley f522cef9b3 sev: update sev-inject-launch-secret to make gpa optional
If the gpa isn't specified, it's value is extracted from the OVMF
properties table located below the reset vector (and if this doesn't
exist, an error is returned).  OVMF has defined the GUID for the SEV
secret area as 4c2eb361-7d9b-4cc3-8081-127c90d3d294 and the format of
the <data> is: <base>|<size> where both are uint32_t.  We extract
<base> and use it as the gpa for the injection.

Note: it is expected that the injected secret will also be GUID
described but since qemu can't interpret it, the format is left
undefined here.

James Bottomley 9617cddb72 pc: add parser for OVMF reset block
OVMF is developing a mechanism for depositing a GUIDed table just
below the known location of the reset vector.  The table goes
backwards in memory so all entries are of the form

<data>|len|<GUID>

Where <data> is arbtrary size and type, <len> is a uint16_t and
describes the entire length of the entry from the beginning of the
data to the end of the guid.

The foot of the table is of this form and <len> for this case
describes the entire size of the table.  The table foot GUID is
defined by OVMF as 96b582de-1fb2-45f7-baea-a366c55a082d and if the
table is present this GUID is just below the reset vector, 48 bytes
before the end of the firmware file.

Add a parser for the ovmf reset block which takes a copy of the block,
if the table foot guid is found, minus the footer and a function for
later traversal to return the data area of any specified GUIDs.

Richard Henderson 5d70c3510b linux-user/aarch64: Signal SEGV_MTEAERR for async tag check error
The real kernel collects _TIF_MTE_ASYNC_FAULT into the current thread's
state on any kernel entry (interrupt, exception etc), and then delivers
the signal in advance of resuming the thread.

This means that while the signal won't be delivered immediately, it will
not be delayed forever -- at minimum it will be delivered after the next
clock interrupt.

We don't have a clock interrupt in linux-user, so we issue a cpu_kick
to signal a return to the main loop at the end of the current TB.

Richard Henderson 16c8497848 target/arm: Use the proper TBI settings for linux-user
We were fudging TBI1 enabled to speed up the generated code.
Now that we've improved the code generation, remove this.
Also, tidy the comment to reflect the current code.

The pauth test was testing a kernel address (-1) and making
incorrect assumptions about TBI1; stick to userland addresses.

Richard Henderson 3e8f1628e8 exec: Use cpu_untagged_addr in g2h; split out g2h_untagged
Use g2h_untagged in contexts that have no cpu, e.g. the binary
loaders that operate before the primary cpu is created.  As a
colollary, target_mmap and friends must use untagged addresses,
since they are used by the loaders.

Use g2h_untagged on values returned from target_mmap, as the
kernel never applies a tag itself.

Use g2h_untagged on all pc values.  The only current user of
tags, aarch64, removes tags from code addresses upon branch,
so "pc" is always untagged.

Use g2h with the cpu context on hand wherever possible.

Use g2h_untagged in lock_user, which will be updated soon.

Peter Maydell 34510e327e target/ppc: Drop use of gdb_get_float64() and ldfq_p()
We used to make a distinction between 'float64'/'float32' types and
the 'uint64_t'/'uint32_t' types, requiring special conversion
operations to go between them.  We've now dropped this distinction as
unnecessary, and the 'float*' types remain primarily for
documentation purposes when used in places like the function
prototypes of TCG helper functions.

This means that there's no need for a special gdb_get_float64()
function to write a float64 value to the GDB protocol buffer; we can
just use gdb_get_reg64().

Similarly, for reading a value out of the GDB buffer into a float64
we can use ldq_p() and need not use ldfq_p().
