All devices raising PSI interrupts are now converted to use GPIO lines
and the pnv_psi_irq_set() routines have become useless. Drop them.

Create an anonymous output GPIO line to connect the LPC device with
the PSIHB device and raise the appropriate PSI IRQ line depending on
the processor model.
A temporary __pnv_psi_irq_set() routine is introduced to handle the
transition. It will be removed when all devices raising PSI interrupts
are converted to use GPIOs.

On HW, the PSI and FSP interrupt levels are muxed under the same
interrupt number. For coding reasons, an extra IRQ number was
introduced to index register values in an array. It increased the
count of IRQs which do not fit in the PSI IRQ range anymore.
The PSI and FSP interrupts should be modeled with an extra level of
GPIO lines but since QEMU does not support them, simply drop the extra
number to stay within the IRQ range.

With TCG_OPF_COND_BRANCH, we extended the lifetimes of
globals across extended basic blocks. This means that
the liveness computed in pass 1 does not kill globals
in the same way as normal temps.
Introduce TYPE_EBB to match this lifetime, so that we
get correct register allocation for the temps that we
introduce during the indirect lowering pass.

Add a new log flag, tid, to turn this feature on.
Require the log filename to be set, and to contain %d.
Do not allow tid to be turned off once it is on, nor let
the filename be change thereafter. This avoids the need
for signalling each thread to re-open on a name change.

The only real use is in cpu_abort, where we have just
flushed the file via qemu_log_unlock, and are just about
to force-crash the application via abort. We do not
really need to close the FILE before the abort.
The two uses in test-logging.c can be handled with
qemu_set_log_filename_flags.

Inside qemu_log, we perform qemu_log_trylock/unlock, which need
not be done if we have already performed the lock beforehand.
Always check the result of qemu_log_trylock -- only checking

This function can fail, which makes it more like ftrylockfile
or pthread_mutex_trylock than flockfile or pthread_mutex_lock,
so rename it.
To closer match the other trylock functions, release rcu_read_lock
along the failure path, so that qemu_log_unlock need not be called
on failure.

This buffering was introduced during the Paleozoic: 9fa3e85353.
There has never been an explanation as to why we may not allow
glibc to allocate the file buffer itself. We certainly have
many other uses of mmap and malloc during user-only startup,
so presumably whatever the issue was, it has been fixed during
the preceeding 18 years.

vmstate_acpi_pcihp_use_acpi_index() was expecting AcpiPciHpState
as state but it actually received PIIX4PMState, because
VMSTATE_PCI_HOTPLUG is a macro and not another struct.
So it ended up accessing random pointer, which resulted
in 'false' return value and acpi_index field wasn't ever
sent.
However in 7.0 that pointer de-references to value > 0, and
destination QEMU starts to expect the field which isn't
sent in migratioon stream from older QEMU (6.2 and older).
As result migration fails with:
qemu-system-x86_64: Missing section footer for 0000:00:01.3/piix4_pm
qemu-system-x86_64: load of migration failed: Invalid argument
In addition with QEMU-6.2, destination due to not expected
state, also never expects the acpi_index field in migration
stream.
Q35 is not affected as it always sends/expects the field as
long as acpi based PCI hotplug is enabled.
Fix issue by introducing compat knob to never send/expect
acpi_index in migration stream for 6.2 and older PC machine
types and always send it for 7.0 and newer PC machine types.

SynDbg commands can come from two different flows:
1. Hypercalls, in this mode the data being sent is fully
encapsulated network packets.
2. SynDbg specific MSRs, in this mode only the data that needs to be
transfered is passed.

Now that QemuSemaphore is implemented through pthread_cond_t only, we can use
QemuCond and QemuMutex to make the code smaller. Features such as mutex
tracing and CLOCK_MONOTONIC timedwait are supported in qemu-sem naturally.

POSIX specifies an absolute time for sem_timedwait(), it would be
affected if the system time is changing, but there is not a relative
time or monotonic clock version of sem_timedwait, so we cannot gain
from POSIX semaphore any more.
An alternative way is to use sem_trywait + usleep, maybe we can
remove CONFIG_SEM_TIMEDWAIT in this way? No, because some systems
(e.g. mac os) mark the sem_xxx API as deprecated.
So maybe remove the usage of POSIX semaphore and turn to use the
pthread variant for all systems looks better.

Below is the updated version of the patch adding debugging support to WHPX.
It incorporates feedback from Alex Bennée and Peter Maydell regarding not
changing the emulation logic depending on the gdb connection status.
Instead of checking for an active gdb connection to determine whether QEMU
should intercept the INT1 exceptions, it now checks whether any breakpoints
have been set, or whether gdb has explicitly requested one or more CPUs to
do single-stepping. Having none of these condition present now has the same
effect as not using gdb at all.

Replace the global variables with inlined helper functions. getpagesize() is very
likely annotated with a "const" function attribute (at least with glibc), and thus
optimization should apply even better.
This avoids the need for a constructor initialization too.

Replace a config-time define with a compile time condition
define (compatible with clang and gcc) that must be declared prior to
its usage. This avoids having a global configure time define, but also
prevents from bad usage, if the config header wasn't included before.
This can help to make some code independent from qemu too.
gcc supports __BYTE_ORDER__ from about 4.6 and clang from 3.2.

The spec defines 3 registers, even though only index 0 and 2 are valid
on POWER9. The same model is used on POWER10. Register 1 is defined
there but we currently don't use it in skiboot. So we can keep
reporting an error on write.

This patch adds a cpu_ppc_tb_free() helper in hw/ppc/ppc.c to allow us
to free the timebase. This leak is then solved by calling
cpu_ppc_tb_free() in spapr_unrealize_vcpu().

These assertions are very useful for developers to find bugs, and so
they have indeed pointed us towards bugs already. For users, it is not
so useful to find these bugs. We should probably not enable them in
releases until we are sufficiently certain that they will not fire
during normal operation, unless something is going seriously wrong.
For example, we have received a bug report that you cannot add an NBD
server on a BDS in an I/O thread with `-incoming defer`. I am sure this
is a real bug that needs investigation, but we do not really have that
time right now, so close to release, and so I would rather disable the
assertions to get time to investigate such reports.
(I am just putting the link as "buglink" below, not "closes", because
disabling the assertion will not fix the likely underlying bug.)

g_new(T, n) is neater than g_malloc(sizeof(T) * n). It's also safer,
for two reasons. One, it catches multiplication overflowing size_t.
Two, it returns T * rather than void *, which lets the compiler catch
more type errors.
This commit only touches allocations with size arguments of the form
sizeof(T).

Add the 'memory' bit to the memory attributes to restrict bus
controller accesses to memories.
Introduce flatview_access_allowed() to check bus permission
before running any bus transaction.
Have read/write accessors return MEMTX_ACCESS_ERROR if an access is
restricted.
There is no change for the default case where 'memory' is not set.

On older Solaris releases (before Solaris 11), we didn't get a
prototype for madvise, and so util/osdep.c provides its own prototype.
Some time between the public Solaris 11.4 release and Solaris 11.4.42
CBE, we started getting an madvise prototype that looks like this:
extern int madvise(void *, size_t, int);
which conflicts with the prototype in util/osdeps.c. Instead of always
declaring this prototype, check if we're missing the madvise()
prototype, and only declare it ourselves if the prototype is missing.
Move the prototype to include/qemu/osdep.h, the normal place to handle
platform-specific header quirks.
The 'missing_madvise_proto' meson check contains an obviously wrong
prototype for madvise. So if that code compiles and links, we must be
missing the actual prototype for madvise.

Commit e0220bb5b2 made cpus.c target-agnostic but didn't notice
the cpu_list() function is only defined in target-specific code
in "cpu.h". Move list_cpus() declaration to "exec/cpu-common.h"
because this function is not softmmu-specific and can also be
used by user-mode, along with moving its implementation to cpu.c,
which is compiled per target.

We invoke the kvm_irqchip_commit_routes() for each addition to MSI route
table, which is not efficient if we are adding lots of routes in some cases.
This patch lets callers invoke the kvm_irqchip_commit_routes(), so the
callers can decide how to optimize.

Paolo suggested adding the new API to support route changes [1]. We should invoke
kvm_irqchip_begin_route_changes() before changing the routes, increasing the
KVMRouteChange.changes if the routes are changed, and commit the changes at last.

The DBus listener naively create, update and destroy textures without
taking into account other listeners. The texture were shared, but
texture update was unnecessarily duplicated.
Teach DisplayGLCtx to do optionally shared texture handling. This is
only implemented for DBus display at this point, however the same
infrastructure could potentially be used for other future combinations.

SVQ is able to log the dirty bits by itself, so let's use it to not
block migration.
Also, ignore set and clear of VHOST_F_LOG_ALL on set_features if SVQ is
enabled. Even if the device supports it, the reports would be nonsense
because SVQ memory is in the qemu region.
The log region is still allocated. Future changes might skip that, but
this series is already long enough.

Use translations added in VhostIOVATree in SVQ.
Only introduce usage here, not allocation and deallocation. As with
previous patches, we use the dead code paths of shadow_vqs_enabled to
avoid commiting too many changes at once. These are impossible to take
at the moment.

This function does the reverse operation of iova_tree_find: To look for
a mapping that match a translated address so we can do the reverse.
This have linear complexity instead of logarithmic, but it supports
overlapping HVA. Future developments could reduce it.

This iova tree function allows it to look for a hole in allocated
regions and return a totally new translation for a given translated
address.
It's usage is mainly to allow devices to access qemu address space,
remapping guest's one into a new iova space where qemu can add chunks of
addresses.

At this mode no buffer forwarding will be performed in SVQ mode: Qemu
will just forward the guest's kicks to the device.
Host memory notifiers regions are left out for simplicity, and they will
not be addressed in this series.

On a real system with POWER{8,9,10} processors, PHBs are sub-units of
the processor, they can be deactivated by firmware but not plugged in
or out like a PCI adapter on a slot. Nevertheless, having user-created
PHBs in QEMU seemed to be a good idea for testing purposes :
1. having a limited set of PHBs speedups boot time.
2. it is useful to be able to mimic a partially broken topology you
some time have to deal with during bring-up.
PowerNV is also used for distro install tests and having libvirt
support eases these tasks. libvirt prefers to run the machine with
-nodefaults to be sure not to drag unexpected devices which would need
to be defined in the domain file without being specified on the QEMU
command line. For this reason :
3. -nodefaults should not include default PHBs
User-created PHB{3,4,5} devices satisfied all these needs but reality
proves to be a bit more complex, internally when modeling such
devices, and externally when dealing with the user interface.
Req 1. and 2. can be simply addressed differently with a machine option:
"phb-mask=<uint>", which QEMU would use to enable/disable PHB device
nodes when creating the device tree.
For Req 3., we need to make sure we are taking the right approach. It
seems that we should expose a new type of user-created PHB device, a
generic virtualized one, that libvirt would use and not one depending
on the processor revision. This needs more thinking.
For now, remove user-created PHB{3,4,5} devices. All the cleanups we
did are not lost and they will be useful for the next steps.

We already have the pnv-phb3 and pnv-phb4 devices for POWER8 and
POWER9 respectively. POWER10 uses version 5 of the PHB. It is very
close to the PHB4 from POWER9, at least in our model and we could
almost keep using the PHB4 model. However the matching root port
pnv-phb5-root-port is specific to POWER10 so to avoid confusion as
well as making it easy to introduce differences later, we create a
pnv-phb5 class, which is mostly an alias for pnv-phb4 for now.
With this patch, the command line for a user-created PHB on powernv10
becomes:
-machine powernv10 -nodefaults -device pnv-phb5 -device pnv-phb5-root-port

As expected from the "compatible_dcl" comment, a simple comparison of
ops isn't enough. The following patch will fix a regression introduced
by this limited check by extending the compatibility callback for
egl-headless.
For now, this patch simply replaces the the "compatible_dcl" ops pointer
with a "dpy_gl_ctx_is_compatible_ctx" callback.
