ca9b7e29de kconfig: add CONFIG_MSI_NONBROKEN
Not all interrupt controllers have a working implementation of
message-signalled interrupts; in some cases, the guest may expect
MSI to work but it won't due to the buggy or lacking emulation.

In QEMU this is represented by the "msi_nonbroken" variable. This
patch adds a new configuration symbol enabled whenever the binary
contains an interrupt controller that will set "msi_nonbroken". We
can then use it to remove devices that cannot be possibly added
to the machine, because they require MSI.

ce2918cbc3 spapr: Use CamelCase properly
The qemu coding standard is to use CamelCase for type and structure names,
and the pseries code follows that... sort of. There are quite a lot of
places where we bend the rules in order to preserve the capitalization of
internal acronyms like "PHB", "TCE", "DIMM" and most commonly "sPAPR".

That was a bad idea - it frequently leads to names ending up with hard to
read clusters of capital letters, and means they don't catch the eye as
type identifiers, which is kind of the point of the CamelCase convention in
the first place.

In short, keeping type identifiers look like CamelCase is more important
than preserving standard capitalization of internal "words". So, this
patch renames a heap of spapr internal type names to a more standard
CamelCase.

In addition to case changes, we also make some other identifier renames:
  VIOsPAPR* -> SpaprVio*
    The reverse word ordering was only ever used to mitigate the capital
    cluster, so revert to the natural ordering.
  VIOsPAPRVTYDevice -> SpaprVioVty
  VIOsPAPRVLANDevice -> SpaprVioVlan
    Brevity, since the "Device" didn't add useful information
  sPAPRDRConnector -> SpaprDrc
  sPAPRDRConnectorClass -> SpaprDrcClass
    Brevity, and makes it clearer this is the same thing as a "DRC"
    mentioned in many other places in the code

This is 100% a mechanical search-and-replace patch. It will, however,
conflict with essentially any and all outstanding patches touching the
spapr code.

4836b45510 ppc/xive: activate HV support
The NSR register of the HV ring has a different, although similar, bit
layout. TM_QW3_NSR_HE_PHYS bit should now be raised when the
Hypervisor interrupt line is signaled. Other bits TM_QW3_NSR_HE_POOL
and TM_QW3_NSR_HE_LSI are not modeled. LSI are for special interrupts
reserved for HW bringup and the POOL bit is used when signaling a
group of VPs. This is not currently implemented in Linux but it is in
pHyp.

The most important special commands on the HV TIMA page are added to
let the core manage interrupts : acking and changing the CPU priority.

2dfa91a2aa ppc/pnv: add a XIVE interrupt controller model for POWER9
This is a simple model of the POWER9 XIVE interrupt controller for the
PowerNV machine which only addresses the needs of the skiboot
firmware. The PowerNV model reuses the common XIVE framework developed
for sPAPR as the fundamentals aspects are quite the same. The
difference are outlined below.

The controller initial BAR configuration is performed using the XSCOM
bus from there, MMIO are used for further configuration.

The MMIO regions exposed are :

 - Interrupt controller registers
 - ESB pages for IPIs and ENDs
 - Presenter MMIO (Not used)
 - Thread Interrupt Management Area MMIO, direct and indirect

The virtualization controller MMIO region containing the IPI ESB pages
and END ESB pages is sub-divided into "sets" which map portions of the
VC region to the different ESB pages. These are modeled with custom
address spaces and the XiveSource and XiveENDSource objects are sized
to the maximum allowed by HW. The memory regions are resized at
run-time using the configuration of EDT set translation table provided
by the firmware.

The XIVE virtualization structure tables (EAT, ENDT, NVTT) are now in
the machine RAM and not in the hypervisor anymore. The firmware
(skiboot) configures these tables using Virtual Structure Descriptor
defining the characteristics of each table : SBE, EAS, END and
NVT. These are later used to access the virtual interrupt entries. The
internal cache of these tables in the interrupt controller is updated
and invalidated using a set of registers.

Still to address to complete the model but not fully required is the
support for block grouping. Escalation support will be necessary for
KVM guests.

d514c48d41 ppc/xive: hardwire the Physical CAM line of the thread context
By default on P9, the HW CAM line (23bits) is hardwired to :

      0x000||0b1||4Bit chip number||7Bit Thread number.

When the block group mode is enabled at the controller level (PowerNV),
the CAM line is changed for CAM compares to :

      4Bit chip number||0x001||7Bit Thread number

This will require changes in xive_presenter_tctx_match() possibly.
This is a lowlevel functionality of the HW controller and it is not
strictly needed. Leave it for later.

e0e312f352 build: switch to Kconfig
The make_device_config.sh script is replaced by minikconf, which
is modified to support the same command line as its predecessor.

The roots of the parsing are default-configs/*.mak, Kconfig.host and
hw/Kconfig. One difference with make_device_config.sh is that all symbols
have to be defined in a Kconfig file, including those coming from the
configure script. This is the reason for the Kconfig.host file introduced
in the previous patch. Whenever a file in default-configs/*.mak used
$(...) to refer to a config-host.mak symbol, this is replaced by a
Kconfig dependency; this part must be done already in this patch
for bisectability.

82f5181777 kconfig: introduce kconfig files
The Kconfig files were generated mostly with this script:

  for i in `grep -ho CONFIG_[A-Z0-9_]* default-configs/* | sort -u`; do
    set fnord `git grep -lw $i -- 'hw/*/Makefile.objs' `
    shift
    if test $# = 1; then
      cat >> $(dirname $1)/Kconfig << EOF
config ${i#CONFIG_}
    bool

EOF
      git add $(dirname $1)/Kconfig
    else
      echo $i $*
    fi
  done
  sed -i '$d' hw/*/Kconfig
  for i in hw/*; do
    if test -d $i && ! test -f $i/Kconfig; then
      touch $i/Kconfig
      git add $i/Kconfig
    fi
  done

Whenever a symbol is referenced from multiple subdirectories, the
script prints the list of directories that reference the symbol.
These symbols have to be added manually to the Kconfig files.

Kconfig.host and hw/Kconfig were created manually.

f6d4dca807 hw/ppc: Use object_initialize_child for correct reference counting
Both functions, object_initialize() and object_property_add_child() increase
the reference counter of the new object, so one of the references has to be
dropped afterwards to get the reference counting right. Otherwise the child
object will not be properly cleaned up when the parent gets destroyed.
Thus let's use now object_initialize_child() instead to get the reference
counting here right.

6cead90c5c xics: Write source state to KVM at claim time
The pseries machine only uses LSIs to support legacy PCI devices. Every
PHB claims 4 LSIs at realize time. When using in-kernel XICS (or upcoming
in-kernel XIVE), QEMU synchronizes the state of all irqs, including these
LSIs, later on at machine reset.

In order to support PHB hotplug, we need a way to tell KVM about the LSIs
that doesn't require a machine reset. An easy way to do that is to always
inform KVM when an interrupt is claimed, which really isn't a performance
path.

40a5056c41 xive: add a get_tctx() method to the XiveRouter
It provides a mean to retrieve the XiveTCTX of a CPU. This will become
necessary with future changes which move the interrupt presenter
object pointers under the PowerPCCPU machine_data.

The PowerNV machine has an extra requirement on TIMA accesses that
this new method addresses. The machine can perform indirect loads and
stores on the TIMA on behalf of another CPU. The PIR being defined in
the controller registers, we need a way to peek in the controller
model to find the PIR value.

The XiveTCTX is moved above the XiveRouter definition to avoid forward
typedef declarations.

3693f217d3 armv7m: Don't assume the NVIC's CPU is CPU 0
Currently the ARMv7M NVIC object's realize method assumes that the
CPU the NVIC is attached to is CPU 0, because it thinks there can
only ever be one CPU in the system. To allow a dual-Cortex-M33
setup we need to remove this assumption; instead the armv7m
wrapper object tells the NVIC its CPU, in the same way that it
already tells the CPU what the NVIC is.

b2e2247716 spapr: add a 'reset' method to the sPAPR IRQ backend
For the time being, the XIVE reset handler updates the OS CAM line of
the vCPU as it is done under a real hypervisor when a vCPU is
scheduled to run on a HW thread. This will let the XIVE presenter
engine find a match among the NVTs dispatched on the HW threads.

This handler will become even more useful when we introduce the
machine supporting both interrupt modes, XIVE and XICS. In this
machine, the interrupt mode is chosen by the CAS negotiation process
and activated after a reset.

6e21de4a50 spapr: add device tree support for the XIVE exploitation mode
The XIVE interface for the guest is described in the device tree under
the "interrupt-controller" node. A couple of new properties are
specific to XIVE :

 - "reg"

   contains the base address and size of the thread interrupt
   managnement areas (TIMA), for the User level and for the Guest OS
   level. Only the Guest OS level is taken into account today.

 - "ibm,xive-eq-sizes"

   the size of the event queues. One cell per size supported, contains
   log2 of size, in ascending order.

 - "ibm,xive-lisn-ranges"

   the IRQ interrupt number ranges assigned to the guest for the IPIs.

and also under the root node :

 - "ibm,plat-res-int-priorities"

   contains a list of priorities that the hypervisor has reserved for
   its own use. OPAL uses the priority 7 queue to automatically
   escalate interrupts for all other queues (DD2.X POWER9). So only
   priorities [0..6] are allowed for the guest.

Extend the sPAPR IRQ backend with a new handler to populate the DT
with the appropriate "interrupt-controller" node.

23bcd5eb9a spapr: add hcalls support for the XIVE exploitation interrupt mode
The different XIVE virtualization structures (sources and event queues)
are configured with a set of Hypervisor calls :

 - H_INT_GET_SOURCE_INFO

   used to obtain the address of the MMIO page of the Event State
   Buffer (ESB) entry associated with the source.

 - H_INT_SET_SOURCE_CONFIG

   assigns a source to a "target".

 - H_INT_GET_SOURCE_CONFIG

   determines which "target" and "priority" is assigned to a source

 - H_INT_GET_QUEUE_INFO

   returns the address of the notification management page associated
   with the specified "target" and "priority".

 - H_INT_SET_QUEUE_CONFIG

   sets or resets the event queue for a given "target" and "priority".
   It is also used to set the notification configuration associated
   with the queue, only unconditional notification is supported for
   the moment. Reset is performed with a queue size of 0 and queueing
   is disabled in that case.

 - H_INT_GET_QUEUE_CONFIG

   returns the queue settings for a given "target" and "priority".

 - H_INT_RESET

   resets all of the guest's internal interrupt structures to their
   initial state, losing all configuration set via the hcalls
   H_INT_SET_SOURCE_CONFIG and H_INT_SET_QUEUE_CONFIG.

 - H_INT_SYNC

   issue a synchronisation on a source to make sure all notifications
   have reached their queue.

Calls that still need to be addressed :

   H_INT_SET_OS_REPORTING_LINE
   H_INT_GET_OS_REPORTING_LINE

See the code for more documentation on each hcall.

0cddee8d48 spapr/xive: use the VCPU id as a NVT identifier
The IVPE scans the O/S CAM line of the XIVE thread interrupt contexts
to find a matching Notification Virtual Target (NVT) among the NVTs
dispatched on the HW processor threads.

On a real system, the thread interrupt contexts are updated by the
hypervisor when a Virtual Processor is scheduled to run on a HW
thread. Under QEMU, the model will emulate the same behavior by
hardwiring the NVT identifier in the thread context registers at
reset.

The NVT identifier used by the sPAPRXive model is the VCPU id. The END
identifier is also derived from the VCPU id. A set of helpers doing
the conversion between identifiers are provided for the hcalls
configuring the sources and the ENDs.

The model does not need a NVT table but the XiveRouter NVT operations
are provided to perform some extra checks in the routing algorithm.

3aa597f650 spapr/xive: introduce a XIVE interrupt controller
sPAPRXive models the XIVE interrupt controller of the sPAPR machine.
It inherits from the XiveRouter and provisions storage for the routing
tables :

  - Event Assignment Structure (EAS)
  - Event Notification Descriptor (END)

The sPAPRXive model incorporates an internal XiveSource for the IPIs
and for the interrupts of the virtual devices of the guest. This model
is consistent with XIVE architecture which also incorporates an
internal IVSE for IPIs and accelerator interrupts in the IVRE
sub-engine.

The sPAPRXive model exports two memory regions, one for the ESB
trigger and management pages used to control the sources and one for
the TIMA pages. They are mapped by default at the addresses found on
chip 0 of a baremetal system. This is also consistent with the XIVE
architecture which defines a Virtualization Controller BAR for the
internal IVSE ESB pages and a Thread Managment BAR for the TIMA.

cdd4de68ed ppc/xive: notify the CPU when the interrupt priority is more privileged
After the event data was enqueued in the O/S Event Queue, the IVPE
raises the bit corresponding to the priority of the pending interrupt
in the register IBP (Interrupt Pending Buffer) to indicate there is an
event pending in one of the 8 priority queues. The Pending Interrupt
Priority Register (PIPR) is also updated using the IPB. This register
represent the priority of the most favored pending notification.

The PIPR is then compared to the the Current Processor Priority
Register (CPPR). If it is more favored (numerically less than), the
CPU interrupt line is raised and the EO bit of the Notification Source
Register (NSR) is updated to notify the presence of an exception for
the O/S. The check needs to be done whenever the PIPR or the CPPR are
changed.

The O/S acknowledges the interrupt with a special load in the Thread
Interrupt Management Area. If the EO bit of the NSR is set, the CPPR
takes the value of PIPR. The bit number in the IBP corresponding to
the priority of the pending interrupt is reseted and so is the EO bit
of the NSR.

af53dbf622 ppc/xive: introduce a simplified XIVE presenter
The last sub-engine of the XIVE architecture is the Interrupt
Virtualization Presentation Engine (IVPE). On HW, the IVRE and the
IVPE share elements, the Power Bus interface (CQ), the routing table
descriptors, and they can be combined in the same HW logic. We do the
same in QEMU and combine both engines in the XiveRouter for
simplicity.

When the IVRE has completed its job of matching an event source with a
Notification Virtual Target (NVT) to notify, it forwards the event
notification to the IVPE sub-engine. The IVPE scans the thread
interrupt contexts of the Notification Virtual Targets (NVT)
dispatched on the HW processor threads and if a match is found, it
signals the thread. If not, the IVPE escalates the notification to
some other targets and records the notification in a backlog queue.

The IVPE maintains the thread interrupt context state for each of its
NVTs not dispatched on HW processor threads in the Notification
Virtual Target table (NVTT).

The model currently only supports single NVT notifications.

207d9fe985 ppc/xive: introduce the XIVE interrupt thread context
Each POWER9 processor chip has a XIVE presenter that can generate four
different exceptions to its threads:

  - hypervisor exception,
  - O/S exception
  - Event-Based Branch (EBB)
  - msgsnd (doorbell).

Each exception has a state independent from the others called a Thread
Interrupt Management context. This context is a set of registers which
lets the thread handle priority management and interrupt acknowledgment
among other things. The most important ones being :

  - Interrupt Priority Register  (PIPR)
  - Interrupt Pending Buffer     (IPB)
  - Current Processor Priority   (CPPR)
  - Notification Source Register (NSR)

These registers are accessible through a specific MMIO region, called
the Thread Interrupt Management Area (TIMA), four aligned pages, each
exposing a different view of the registers. First page (page address
ending in 0b00) gives access to the entire context and is reserved for
the ring 0 view for the physical thread context. The second (page
address ending in 0b01) is for the hypervisor, ring 1 view. The third
(page address ending in 0b10) is for the operating system, ring 2
view. The fourth (page address ending in 0b11) is for user level, ring
3 view.

The thread interrupt context is modeled with a XiveTCTX object
containing the values of the different exception registers. The TIMA
region is mapped at the same address for each CPU.

002686be42 ppc/xive: add support for the END Event State Buffers
The Event Notification Descriptor (END) XIVE structure also contains
two Event State Buffers providing further coalescing of interrupts,
one for the notification event (ESn) and one for the escalation events
(ESe). A MMIO page is assigned for each to control the EOI through
loads only. Stores are not allowed.

The END ESBs are modeled through an object resembling the 'XiveSource'
It is stateless as the END state bits are backed into the XiveEND
structure under the XiveRouter and the MMIO accesses follow the same
rules as for the XiveSource ESBs.

END ESBs are not supported by the Linux drivers neither on OPAL nor on
sPAPR. Nevetherless, it provides a mean to study the question in the
future and validates a bit more the XIVE model.

e4ddaac67f ppc/xive: introduce the XIVE Event Notification Descriptors
To complete the event routing, the IVRE sub-engine uses a second table
containing Event Notification Descriptor (END) structures.

An END specifies on which Event Queue (EQ) the event notification
data, defined in the associated EAS, should be posted when an
exception occurs. It also defines which Notification Virtual Target
(NVT) should be notified.

The Event Queue is a memory page provided by the O/S defining a
circular buffer, one per server and priority couple, containing Event
Queue entries. These are 4 bytes long, the first bit being a
'generation' bit and the 31 following bits the END Data field. They
are pulled by the O/S when the exception occurs.

The END Data field is a way to set an invariant logical event source
number for an IRQ. On sPAPR machines, it is set with the
H_INT_SET_SOURCE_CONFIG hcall when the EISN flag is used.

7ff7ea9280 ppc/xive: introduce the XiveRouter model
The XiveRouter models the second sub-engine of the XIVE architecture :
the Interrupt Virtualization Routing Engine (IVRE).

The IVRE handles event notifications of the IVSE and performs the
interrupt routing process. For this purpose, it uses a set of tables
stored in system memory, the first of which being the Event Assignment
Structure (EAS) table.

The EAT associates an interrupt source number with an Event Notification
Descriptor (END) which will be used in a second phase of the routing
process to identify a Notification Virtual Target.

The XiveRouter is an abstract class which needs to be inherited from
to define a storage for the EAT, and other upcoming tables.

02e3ff548d ppc/xive: introduce a XIVE interrupt source model
The first sub-engine of the overall XIVE architecture is the Interrupt
Virtualization Source Engine (IVSE). An IVSE can be integrated into
another logic, like in a PCI PHB or in the main interrupt controller
to manage IPIs.

Each IVSE instance is associated with an Event State Buffer (ESB) that
contains a two bit state entry for each possible event source. When an
event is signaled to the IVSE, by MMIO or some other means, the
associated interrupt state bits are fetched from the ESB and
modified. Depending on the resulting ESB state, the event is forwarded
to the IVRE sub-engine of the controller doing the routing.

Each supported ESB entry is associated with either a single or a
even/odd pair of pages which provides commands to manage the source:
to EOI, to turn off the source for instance.

On a sPAPR machine, the O/S will obtain the page address of the ESB
entry associated with a source and its characteristic using the
H_INT_GET_SOURCE_INFO hcall. On PowerNV, a similar OPAL call is used.

The xive_source_notify() routine is in charge forwarding the source
event notification to the routing engine. It will be filled later on.

Fei Li pointed out that doing error_propagate() first doesn't work
well when @errp is &error_fatal or &error_abort: the error_prepend()

Since I doubt fixing the documentation will stop people from getting
it wrong, introduce error_propagate_prepend(), in the hope that it
lures people away from using its constituents in the wrong order.
Update the instructions in error.h accordingly.

Convert existing error_prepend() next to error_propagate to

cbe1282b56 intc/arm_gic: Implement gic_update_virt() function
Add the gic_update_virt() function to update the vCPU interface states
and raise vIRQ and vFIQ as needed. This commit renames gic_update() to
gic_update_internal() and generalizes it to handle both cases, with a
`virt' parameter to track whether we are updating the CPU or vCPU
interfaces.

The main difference between CPU and vCPU is the way we select the best
IRQ. This part has been split into the gic_get_best_(v)irq functions.
For the virt case, the LRs are iterated to find the best candidate.

When the guest writes an invalid vIRQ to V_EOIR or V_DIR, since the

  * When V_CTRL.EOIMode is false (EOI split is disabled):
    - In case of an invalid vIRQ write to V_EOIR:
      -> If some bits are set in H_APR, an invalid vIRQ write to V_EOIR
         triggers a priority drop, and increments V_HCR.EOICount.
      -> If V_APR is already cleared, nothing happen

    - An invalid vIRQ write to V_DIR is ignored.

439badd66d intc/arm_gic: Implement virtualization extensions in gic_acknowledge_irq
Implement virtualization extensions in the gic_acknowledge_irq()
function. This function changes the state of the highest priority IRQ
from pending to active.

When the current CPU is a vCPU, modifying the state of an IRQ modifies
the corresponding LR entry. However if we clear the pending flag before
setting the active one, we lose track of the LR entry as it becomes
invalid. The next call to gic_get_lr_entry() will fail.

To overcome this issue, we call gic_activate_irq() before
gic_clear_pending(). This does not change the general behaviour of
gic_acknowledge_irq.

We also move the SGI case in gic_clear_pending_sgi() to enhance
code readability as the virtualization extensions support adds a if-else
level.

3dd0471b75 intc/arm_gic: Refactor secure/ns access check in the CPU interface
An access to the CPU interface is non-secure if the current GIC instance
implements the security extensions, and the memory access is actually
non-secure. Until then, it was checked with tests such as
  if (s->security_extn && !attrs.secure) { ... }
in various places of the CPU interface code.

With the implementation of the virtualization extensions, those tests
must be updated to take into account whether we are in a vCPU interface
or not. This is because the exposed vCPU interface does not implement
security extensions.

This commits replaces all those tests with a call to the
gic_cpu_ns_access() function to check if the current access to the CPU
interface is non-secure. This function takes into account whether the
current CPU is a vCPU or not.

Note that this function is used only in the (v)CPU interface code path.
The distributor code path is left unchanged, as the distributor is not
exposed to vCPUs at all.

4a37e0e476 intc/arm_gic: Add virtualization extensions helper macros and functions
Add some helper macros and functions related to the virtualization
extensions to gic_internal.h.

The GICH_LR_* macros help extracting specific fields of a list register
value. The only tricky one is the priority field as only the MSB are
stored. The value must be shifted accordingly to obtain the correct
priority value.

gic_is_vcpu() and gic_get_vcpu_real_id() help with (v)CPU id manipulation
to abstract the fact that vCPU id are in the range
[ GIC_NCPU; (GIC_NCPU + num_cpu) [.

gic_lr_* and gic_virq_is_valid() help with the list registers.
gic_get_lr_entry() returns the LR entry for a given (vCPU, irq) pair. It
is meant to be used in contexts where we know for sure that the entry
exists, so we assert that entry is actually found, and the caller can
avoid the NULL check on the returned pointer.

5773c0494a intc/arm_gic: Add the virtualization extensions to the GIC state
Add the necessary parts of the virtualization extensions state to the
GIC state. We choose to increase the size of the CPU interfaces state to
add space for the vCPU interfaces (the GIC_NCPU_VCPU macro). This way,
we'll be able to reuse most of the CPU interface code for the vCPUs.

The only exception is the APR value, which is stored in h_apr in the
virtual interface state for vCPUs. This is due to some complications
with the GIC VMState, for which we don't want to break backward
compatibility. APRs being stored in 2D arrays, increasing the second
dimension would lead to some ugly VMState description. To avoid
that, we keep it in h_apr for vCPUs.

The vCPUs are numbered from GIC_NCPU to (GIC_NCPU * 2) - 1. The
`gic_is_vcpu` function help to determine if a given CPU id correspond to
a physical CPU or a virtual one.

For the in-kernel KVM VGIC, since the exposed VGIC does not implement
the virtualization extensions, we report an error if the corresponding
property is set to true.

1ddc9b98c3 hw/intc/exynos4210_gic: Turn instance_init into realize function
The instance_init function of the "exynos4210.gic" device creates a
new "arm_gic" device and immediately realizes it with qdev_init_nofail().
This will leave a lot of object in the QOM tree during introspection of
the "exynos4210.gic" device, e.g. reproducible by starting QEMU like this:

qemu-system-aarch64 -M none -nodefaults -nographic -monitor stdio

And then by running "info qom-tree" at the HMP monitor, followed by
"device_add exynos4210.gic,help" and finally checking "info qom-tree"
again.

Also note that qdev_init_nofail() can exit QEMU in case of errors - and
this must never happen during an instance_init function, otherwise QEMU
could terminate unexpectedly during introspection of a device.

Since most of the code that follows the qdev_init_nofail() depends on
the realized "gicbusdev", the easiest solution to the problem is to
turn the whole instance_init function into a realize function instead.

7995206d05 hw/intc/arm_gic: Fix handling of GICD_ITARGETSR
The GICD_ITARGETSR implementation still has some 11MPCore behaviour
that we were incorrectly using in our GICv1 and GICv2 implementations
for the case where the interrupt number is less than GIC_INTERNAL.
The desired behaviour here is:
 * for 11MPCore: RAZ/WI for irqs 0..28; read a number matching the
   CPU doing the read for irqs 29..31
 * for GICv1 and v2: RAZ/WI if uniprocessor; otherwise read a
   number matching the CPU doing the read for all irqs < 32

Stop squashing GICD_ITARGETSR to 0 for IRQs 0..28 unless this
is an 11MPCore GIC.

ee03cca88e hw/intc/arm_gic: Check interrupt number in gic_deactivate_irq()
In gic_deactivate_irq() the interrupt number comes from the guest
(on a write to the GICC_DIR register), so we need to sanity check
that it isn't out of range before we use it as an array index.
Handle this in a similar manner to the check we do in
gic_complete_irq() for the GICC_EOI register.

The array overrun is not disastrous because the calling code
uses (value & 0x3ff) to extract the interrupt field, so the
only out-of-range values possible are 1020..1023, which allow
overrunning only from irq_state[] into the following
irq_target[] array which the guest can already manipulate.

b585395b65 ppc/xics: fix ICP reset path
Recent cleanup in commit a028dd423e dropped the ICPStateClass::reset
handler. It is now up to child ICP classes to call the DeviceClass::reset
handler of the parent class, thanks to device_class_set_parent_reset().
This is a better object programming pattern, but unfortunately it causes
QEMU to crash during CPU hotplug:

(qemu) device_add host-spapr-cpu-core,id=core1,core-id=1
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

When the hotplug path tries to reset the ICP device, we end up calling:

static void icp_kvm_reset(DeviceState *dev)
{
    ICPStateClass *icpc = ICP_GET_CLASS(dev);

    icpc->parent_reset(dev);

but icpc->parent_reset is NULL... This happens because icp_kvm_class_init()
calls:

    device_class_set_parent_reset(dc, icp_kvm_reset,
                                  &icpc->parent_reset);

but dc->reset, ie, DeviceClass::reset for the TYPE_ICP type, is
itself NULL.

This patch hence sets DeviceClass::reset for the TYPE_ICP type to
point to icp_reset(). It then registers a reset handler that calls
DeviceClass::reset. If the ICP subtype has configured its own reset
handler with device_class_set_parent_reset(), this ensures it will
be called first and it can then call ICPStateClass::parent_reset
safely. This fixes the reset path for the TYPE_KVM_ICP type, which
is the only subtype that defines its own reset function.

The Cortex-M CPU and its NVIC are two intimately intertwined parts of

Unfortunately a lot of our board models don't do any sanity checking
on the CPU type the user asks for, so a command line like
    qemu-system-arm -M versatilepb -cpu cortex-m3
will create an M3 without an NVIC, and coredump immediately.
In the other direction, trying a non-M-profile CPU in an M-profile
board won't blow up, but doesn't do anything useful either:
    qemu-system-arm -M lm3s6965evb -cpu arm926

Add some checking in the NVIC and CPU realize functions that the
user isn't trying to use an NVIC without an M-profile CPU or
an M-profile CPU without an NVIC, so we can produce a helpful
error message rather than a core dump.

 * on reads, the priority is in the secure range if bit 7
   is clear, not if it is set
 * on writes, we want to set bit 7, not mask everything else

Our ICC_RPR read code had the same error as ICC_PMR.

(Compare the GICv3 spec pseudocode functions ICC_RPR_EL1
and ICC_PMR_EL1.)

80d2b933f9 openpic_kvm: drop address_space_to_flatview call
The MemoryListener is registered on address_space_memory, there is
not much to assert. This currently works because the callback
is invoked only once when the listener is registered, but section->fv
is the _new_ FlatView, not the old one on later calls and that
would break.

This confines address_space_to_flatview to exec.c and memory.c.

9d0306dfdf qmp: expose s390-specific CPU info
Presently s390x is the only architecture not exposing specific
CPU information via QMP query-cpus. Upstream discussion has shown
that it could make sense to report the architecture specific CPU
state, e.g. to detect that a CPU has been stopped.

With this change the output of query-cpus will look like this on
s390:

   [
     {"arch": "s390", "current": true,
      "props": {"core-id": 0}, "cpu-state": "operating", "CPU": 0,
      "qom_path": "/machine/unattached/device[0]",
      "halted": false, "thread_id": 63115},
     {"arch": "s390", "current": false,
      "props": {"core-id": 1}, "cpu-state": "stopped", "CPU": 1,
      "qom_path": "/machine/unattached/device[1]",
      "halted": true, "thread_id": 63116}
   ]

This change doesn't add the s390-specific data to HMP 'info cpus'.
A follow-on patch will remove all architecture specific information
from there.

12fbf1a163 hw/intc/armv7m_nvic: Fix byte-to-interrupt number conversions
In many of the NVIC registers relating to interrupts, we
have to convert from a byte offset within a register set
into the number of the first interrupt which is affected.
We were getting this wrong for:
 * reads of NVIC_ISPR<n>, NVIC_ISER<n>, NVIC_ICPR<n>, NVIC_ICER<n>,
   NVIC_IABR<n> -- in all these cases we were missing the "* 8"
   needed to convert from the byte offset to the interrupt number
   (since all these registers use one bit per interrupt)
 * writes of NVIC_IPR<n> had the opposite problem of a spurious
   "* 8" (since these registers use one byte per interrupt)

43bbce7fbe hw/intc/armv7m_nvic: Implement cache ID registers
M profile cores have a similar setup for cache ID registers
to A profile:
 * Cache Level ID Register (CLIDR) is a fixed value
 * Cache Type Register (CTR) is a fixed value
 * Cache Size ID Registers (CCSIDR) are a bank of registers;
   which one you see is selected by the Cache Size Selection
   Register (CSSELR)

The only difference is that they're in the NVIC memory mapped
register space rather than being coprocessor registers.
Implement the M profile view of them.

Since neither Cortex-M3 nor Cortex-M4 implement caches,
we don't need to update their init functions and can leave
the ctr/clidr/ccsidr[] fields in their ARMCPU structs at zero.
Newer cores (like the Cortex-M33) will want to be able to
set these ID registers to non-zero values, though.

6c94851881 target/arm: Split "get pending exception info" from "acknowledge it"
Currently armv7m_nvic_acknowledge_irq() does three things:
 * make the current highest priority pending interrupt active
 * return a bool indicating whether that interrupt is targeting
   Secure or NonSecure state
 * implicitly tell the caller which is the highest priority
   pending interrupt by setting env->v7m.exception

We need to split these jobs, because v7m_exception_taken()
needs to know whether the pending interrupt targets Secure so
it can choose to stack callee-saves registers or not, but it
must not make the interrupt active until after it has done
that stacking, in case the stacking causes a derived exception.
Similarly, it needs to know the number of the pending interrupt
so it can read the correct vector table entry before the
interrupt is made active, because vector table reads might
also cause a derived exception.

Create a new armv7m_nvic_get_pending_irq_info() function which simply
returns information about the highest priority pending interrupt, and
use it to rearrange the v7m_exception_taken() code so we don't
acknowledge the exception until we've done all the things which could
possibly cause a derived exception.

5ede82b8cc target/arm: Add armv7m_nvic_set_pending_derived()
In order to support derived exceptions (exceptions generated in
the course of trying to take an exception), we need to be able
to handle prioritizing whether to take the original exception
or the derived exception.

We do this by introducing a new function
armv7m_nvic_set_pending_derived() which the exception-taking code in
helper.c will call when a derived exception occurs. Derived
exceptions are dealt with mostly like normal pending exceptions, so
we share the implementation with the armv7m_nvic_set_pending()
function.

Note that the way we structure this is significantly different
from the v8M Arm ARM pseudocode: that does all the prioritization
logic in the DerivedLateArrival() function, whereas we choose to
let the existing "identify highest priority exception" logic
do the prioritization for us. The effect is the same, though.

When determining the group priority of a group 1 IRQ, if C_CTRL.CBPR is

71aa735b0a hw/intc/arm_gic: Fix C_RPR value on idle priority
When there is no active interrupts in the GIC, a read to the C_RPR
register should return the value of the "Idle priority", which is either
the maximum value an IRQ priority field can be set to, or 0xff.

Since the QEMU GIC model implements all the 8 priority bits, the Idle
priority is 0xff.

Internally, when there is no active interrupt, the running priority
value is 0x100. The gic_get_running_priority function returns an uint8_t
and thus, truncate this value to 0x00 when returning it. This is wrong since
a value of 0x00 correspond to the maximum possible priority.

This commit fixes the returned value when the internal value is 0x100.

Note that it is correct for the Non-Secure view to return 0xff even
though from the NS world point of view, only 7 priority bits are
implemented. The specification states that the Idle priority can be 0xff
even when not all the 8 priority bits are implemented. This has been
verified against a real GICv2 hardware on a Xilinx ZynqMP based board.

Regarding the ARM11MPCore version of the GIC, the specification is not
clear on that point, so this commit does not alter its behavior.

91f4e18d95 hw/intc/arm_gic: Prevent the GIC from signaling an IRQ when it's "active and pending"
In the GIC, when an IRQ is acknowledged, its state goes from "pending"
to:
   - "active" if the corresponding IRQ pin has been de-asserted
   - "active and pending" otherwise.
The GICv2 manual states that when a IRQ becomes active (or active and
pending), the GIC should either signal another (higher priority) IRQ to
the CPU if there is one, or de-assert the CPU IRQ pin.

The current implementation of the GIC in QEMU does not check if the
IRQ is already active when looking for pending interrupts with
sufficient priority in gic_update(). This can lead to signaling an
interrupt that is already active.

This usually happens when splitting priority drop and interrupt
deactivation. On priority drop, the IRQ stays active until deactivation.
If it becomes pending again, chances are that it will be incorrectly
selected as best_irq in gic_update().

This commit fixes this by checking if the IRQ is not already active when
looking for best_irq in gic_update().

Note that regarding the ARM11MPCore GIC version, the corresponding
manual is not clear on that point, but it has has no priority
drop/interrupt deactivation separation, so this case should not happen.

05b9ec96c1 sparc/leon3 irqmp: fix IRQ software ack
With the LEON3 IRQ controller IRQs can be acknowledged 2 ways:
* Explicitly by software writing to the CLEAR_OFFSET register
* Implicitly when the procesor is done running the trap handler attached
  to the IRQ.

The actual IRQMP code only allows the implicit processor triggered IRQ ack.
If software write explicitly to the CLEAR_OFFSET register, this will clear
the pending bit in the register value but this will not lower the ongoing
raised IRQ with the processor. The IRQ will be kept raised to the LEON
processor until the related trap handler is run and the processor implicitly
ack the interrupt. So with the actual IRQMP code trap handler have to be run
even if the software has already done its job by clearing the pending bit.

This feature has been tested on another LEON3 simulator (tsim_leon3 from
Gaisler) and it turns out that the Qemu implementation is not equivalent to
the tsim one. In tsim, if software does clear a pending interrupt before
the related interrupt handler is triggered the said interrupt handler will
not be called.

This patch brings the Qemu IRQMP implementation in line with the tsim
implementation by allowing IRQ to be acknowledged by software only.

e267d16496 kvm-i8259: support "info pic" and "info irq"
Let's leverage the i8259 common code for kvm-i8259 too.

I think it's still possible that stats can lost when i8259 is in kernel
and meanwhile when irqfd is used, e.g., by vfio or vhost devices.
However that should be rare IMHO since they should be using MSIs mostly
if they really want performance (that's why people use vhost and device
assignment), and no old INTx should be used. As long as the INTx users
are emulated in QEMU the stats will be correct.

For "info pic", it should be always accurate since we fetch kvm regs
before dump.

More importantly, it's just too simple to do this now - it's only 10+
LOC to gain this feature.

  1009 MSI 05 00
  100a MSI 05 00
  100b MSI 05 00

but when using the in-kernel XICS with the very same guest, we get:

CPU 0 XIRR=00000000 ((nil)) PP=ff MFRR=ff
ICS 1000..13ff 0x10032e00340

  1009 MSI ff 00
  100a MSI ff 00
  100b MSI ff 00
  100c MSI ff 00

ie, all irqs are masked and XIRR is null, while we should get the
same output as with the emulated XICS.

If the guest is then migrated, 'info pic' shows the expected values
on both source and destination.

The problem is that QEMU doesn't synchronize with KVM before printing
the XICS state. Migration happens to fix the output because it enforces
synchronization with KVM.

To fix the invalid output of 'info pic', this patch introduces a new
synchronize_state operation for both ICPStateClass and ICSStateClass.
The ICP operation relies on run_on_cpu() in order to kick the vCPU
and avoid sleeping on KVM_GET_ONE_REG.

de2db7ec89 target/arm: Prepare for CONTROL.SPSEL being nonzero in Handler mode
In the v7M architecture, there is an invariant that if the CPU is
in Handler mode then the CONTROL.SPSEL bit cannot be nonzero.
This in turn means that the current stack pointer is always
indicated by CONTROL.SPSEL, even though Handler mode always uses
the Main stack pointer.

In v8M, this invariant is removed, and CONTROL.SPSEL may now
be nonzero in Handler mode (though Handler mode still always
uses the Main stack pointer). In preparation for this change,
change how we handle this bit: rename switch_v7m_sp() to
the now more accurate write_v7m_control_spsel(), and make it
check both the handler mode state and the SPSEL bit.

Note that this implicitly changes the point at which we switch
active SP on exception exit from before we pop the exception
frame to after it.

FlatView's will be shared between AddressSpace's and subpage_t

In particular, for:

 typedef struct subpage_t {
     MemoryRegion iomem;
-    AddressSpace *as;
+    FlatView *fv;
     hwaddr base;
     uint16_t sub_section[];

     hwaddr offset_within_region;
     Int128 size;

This should cause no behavioural change.

Now that we have a banked FAULTMASK register and banked exceptions,
we can implement the correct check in cpu_mmu_index() for whether
the MPU_CTRL.HFNMIENA bit's effect should apply. This bit causes
handlers which have requested a negative execution priority to run
with the MPU disabled. In v8M the test has to check this for the

49c80c380d nvic: Handle v8M changes in nvic_exec_prio()
Update nvic_exec_prio() to support the v8M changes:
 * BASEPRI, FAULTMASK and PRIMASK are all banked
 * AIRCR.PRIS can affect NS priorities
 * AIRCR.BFHFNMINS affects FAULTMASK behaviour

These changes mean that it's no longer possible to
definitely say that if FAULTMASK is set it overrides
PRIMASK, and if PRIMASK is set it overrides BASEPRI
(since if PRIMASK_NS is set and AIRCR.PRIS is set then
whether that 0x80 priority should take effect or the
priority in BASEPRI_S depends on the value of BASEPRI_S,
for instance). So we switch to the same approach used
by the pseudocode of working through BASEPRI, PRIMASK
and FAULTMASK and overriding the previous values if
needed.

When escalating to HardFault, we must go into Lockup if we

80ac239035 nvic: Compare group priority for escalation to HF
In armv7m_nvic_set_pending() we have to compare the
priority of an exception against the execution priority
to decide whether it needs to be escalated to HardFault.
In the specification this is a comparison against the
exception's group priority; for v7M we implemented it
as a comparison against the raw exception priority
because the two comparisons will always give the
same answer. For v8M the existence of AIRCR.PRIS and
the possibility of different PRIGROUP values for secure
and nonsecure exceptions means we need to explicitly
calculate the vector's group priority for this check.

5255fcf8e4 nvic: Add cached vectpending_prio state
Instead of looking up the pending priority
in nvic_pending_prio(), cache it in a new state struct
field. The calculation of the pending priority given
the interrupt number is more complicated in v8M with
the security extension, so the caching will be worthwhile.

This changes nvic_pending_prio() from returning a full
(group + subpriority) priority value to returning a group
priority. This doesn't require changes to its callsites
because we use it only in comparisons of the form
  execution_prio > nvic_pending_prio()
and execution priority is always a group priority, so
a test (exec prio > full prio) is true if and only if
(execprio > group_prio).

(Architecturally the expected comparison is with the
group priority for this sort of "would we preempt" test;
we were only doing a test with a full priority as an
optimisation to avoid the mask, which is possible
precisely because the two comparisons always give the
same answer.)

This is slightly more complicated than the other "add banking"
patches because there is one bit in the register which is not
banked. We keep the live data in the NS copy of the register,
and adjust it on register reads and writes. (Since we don't
currently implement the behaviour that the bit controls, there
is nowhere else that needs to care.)

This patch includes the enforcement of the bits which are newly
RES1 in ARMv8M.

We can freely add more items to vmstate_m_security without
breaking migration compatibility, because no CPU currently
has the ARM_FEATURE_M_SECURITY bit enabled and so this
subsection is not yet used by anything.

f104919d15 nvic: Add NS alias SCS region
For v8M the range 0xe002e000..0xe002efff is an alias region which

SCS region. (For nonsecure accesses including when the security
extension is not implemented, it is RAZ/WI.)

42a6686b2f target/arm: Make FAULTMASK register banked for v8M
Make the FAULTMASK register banked if v8M security extensions are enabled.

Note that we do not yet implement the functionality of the new
AIRCR.PRIS bit (which allows the effect of the NS copy of FAULTMASK to
be restricted).

This patch includes the code to determine for v8M which copy
of FAULTMASK should be updated on exception exit; further
changes will be required to the exception exit code in general
to support v8M, so this is just a small piece of that.

The v8M ARM ARM introduces a notation where individual paragraphs
are labelled with R (for rule) or I (for information) followed
by a random group of subscript letters. In comments where we want
to refer to a particular part of the manual we use this convention,
which should be more stable across document revisions than using
section or page numbers.

0e1a46bbd2 target/arm: Implement ARMv8M's PMSAv8 registers
As part of ARMv8M, we need to add support for the PMSAv8 MPU
architecture.

PMSAv8 differs from PMSAv7 both in register/data layout (for instance
using base and limit registers rather than base and size) and also in
behaviour (for example it does not have subregions); rather than
trying to wedge it into the existing PMSAv7 code and data structures,
we define separate ones.

This commit adds the data structures which hold the state for a
PMSAv8 MPU and the register interface to it. The implementation of
the MPU behaviour will be added in a subsequent commit.

This logic error meant we were not setting the PTZ
bit when we should -- luckily as the comment suggests
this wouldn't have had any effects beyond making GIC
initialization take a little longer.
